Well he's not a ninja yet. Technically cheating isn't their thing deception is. But really, he's in school to learn to better himself for ninja stuff. What did he get out of cheating against a 5 year old he was likely to beat anyways? It's not like he couldn't use genjutsu during the fight. I'm just not understanding the motivation
