Stop reminding everyone that your MC beat an admiral at age 12, you moron. I already have a hard enough time tuning out your BS without you constantly mentioning how bad of a writer you are.
The author just had to turn the MC into a thirsty mf. You just had to go there, clown. This MC does not feel like a One Piece character at all. I'm going to actively try to dissuade you from continuing this garbage now.
a 12yo did all that much damage to high ranking Marines, and with a cringe system nonetheless... I can't help but look at this fanfic and think it actually deserves a 1-star. The author is too deep into his self-insert that no nerf can possibly fix w.e atrocity he's done here.
Yes, remove every backlash and weaknesses he has and make him significantly more OP every 5 chapters or so. Also, give him the power to suck up every single devil fruit by looking at people as well as turn people into loyal NAKAMA. Make him the most handsome being in existence while you're at it! LOLOLOL Also, every single cool power in every anime belongs to him now! YES MY SELF INSERT IS PERFECT THANKS FOR MAKING ME FEEL IMPORTANCE FOR ONCE BECAUSE REAL LIFE SUCKS SO MUCH IM A LOSER -you
Your MC has a personality? I didn't know. He seemed like every other reincarnator to me.
It's impressive how there were zero stakes in this fight even with the desperate misleading title. Ig that's just what happens when you let your mc hoard every single op ability in the series.
I forgot the Goro Goro no mi and Shiki's fruit. Just... no. A near omnipotent power and flight are never good narrative tools for an adventure type story. So is omniscience. If was to change a fundamental of this story, I would make the MC's knowledge of the story limited. His love for OP will still be there, but the recovery of his memories of the story would be gradual and only slightly ahead of the timeline he's in, just to make the story more compelling with high stake situations being justified. This is just to avoid situations where the author either has to force major canon events into happening or end up destroying the story with their amateur writing that could never match up to Oda. There's a reason why fanfics that divert too much from the canon almost always ends up falling flat, because fanfics rely heavily on the reader's idea of an event. Arcs they've already seen from canon are easier to get into than arcs made from scratch. I personally would use original arcs or events as set-up for when I would insert my characters in canon events. Especially if they're a completely separate group from the MCs. Anyways, I'm not really a fan of the whole overpowered mc bit when it comes to One Piece. The One Piece world is so well-developed that it makes any attempt in overpowered self-inserts extremely cringey and an absolute disservice to Oda's story. Btw, this author got too ahead of himself and completely wrote Shanks off as someone who would get pushed around by a 5yo. I can imagine the embarassment after having watched film red.
This is the most 7/10 fanfic I've seen on this site. I almost never give 3/5 star reviews and would mostly either put them in 1/5 or 5/5, but like I said, this is the most 7/10 fanfic I've seen on the site. The premise is original and you can tell there's significant effort placed into writing it, but at the same falls into every possible pitfall a One Piece fanfic can fall into. It's surprisingly lackluster for a fanfic with such an interesting premise. 1. Major characters who go through extensive character development are turned into boring side characters with amateurish writing. 2. Absurd power dynamics and OP MC that makes the reader feel like the world of the source material is smaller than it really is. This author basically made Oda's effort in making his world feel vast obsolete before the MC's adventure even started. Which is impressive, but it's impressive in the worst way possible. 3. Too much emphasis on Romance, completely disregarding the nature of the source material. One Piece romance is very implied and nuanced. It's not something that's in your face, and these fanfic authors' strange obsession with shipping is weird. Although I can give it a pass now, because the author seems to have completely forgotten some of the crass romantic set-up he's done. All in all, it was an okay read (so far). Also, rest assured that the author eventually drops some of his cringe writing quirks like adding text emotes, although he does still add SFX, which I can only justify as him trying to transition One Piece's story telling style into a written format.
I'm just going to skip this chapter entirely and pretend it never happened, if you don't mind.
This author really obliterated Sabo's character, first by turning him into an annoying little brother type and now a kid crushing on someone he's met for the first time.
