    Based

"Good, give no quarter and kill them all. I don't care if they surrender," I say to them as they all nod their heads and the command is given out.

In a little Italian boy accent.

The following morning I woke up and climbed out of the mess of limbs I found myself in. I got dressed and headed down to find the rest of my men ready to ship out. We then headed to the west to get on the ships headed back to Britain. There we saw the men here to replace us, led by Colonel Millar. I just nodded my head to him as we boarded the boats.

    First hand sources say otherwise.

I took out my Saber and charged with my men as we collided with the bastards who thought they could own another human being. I then began quickly cutting down any of the bastards who came close to me while shooting the others with my revolver. Unfortunately, my men were slowly falling down one by one, then I saw our best shooter James Howlett get stabbed in the back.

The subtext of the argument is 'why do you want to replace looming danger with present danger?'

"I understand, why you feel that way, Sparrow, but how many Heroes died before they ever made it into the stories. How many Hero stories end with something along the lines of 'And then they died'. I get that theirs something out there your afraid is going to come and get me, but what happens if I go with you, and we end up facing something you can't beat. You're a real mean mugger, little brother, but you don't always get to chose what you fight, when and where. What happens in that situation? Are you going to die to buy me time to get away?"

Bro, this show never misses the chance to reject Zach Schneider's Superman. It literally starts right in the subtext of the first scene. It's soul food for real Superman fans.

    Huge

Seeing the steep climb, I put an X in the Berserk column of my progress log and felt my six days of Will grinding slip away. Then considering it further I put another X in the Physique column, my third, and lost all my Strength EXP and a half my General pool. The results, unmatched. Peak return on investment gains. I felt around my newly stretched out clothes and felt hard slabs of muscle bulging and coiling under my skin. I felt strong as an ape, and as I channeled the Berserk spell, I felt my form slowly expanding even wider, deeper, and taller. It took me about fifteen seconds to achieve the first level of the Spell, but the result filled me with satisfaction and power. I quickly tied the harness around me and practically pulled the cart up the hill by myself. And to anyone who saw me suddenly growing into a huge jacked man, a trick of the fading light.

"Big bandit gang out in the hills to the east." the man grumbled as his drink stilled on its way to his mouth again, "Talk to the mayor, or the innkeeper if you want to know more."

    The power of one letter

Across a small hedge maze and garden awaited the large manor house with an attacked glasshouse, I felt I could still enter the front doors easily even at maxed out Accuracy, and possibly even if I managed to max out Berserk. Unlikely given the morality requirements of the spell. The grand foyer ceiling reached the full three stories of the manor and opened the home in style with two expensive staircases curling around the room.

I loved this show. Someone finally made a Superman that is a genuine good guy. It was like someone smart sat down, thought about all the best characteristics of Superman, and then the production team ran with it all the way.

    Strong.

Chicken Chaser thought he was hot shit when he sniped down Jack-of-Dragon with Multi Arrow plus Skorm's Bow, and respect where it's due, twas a great feat, but the Chicken Chaser will never know the intense satisfaction of my use of Multi Arrow and a common blunderbuss. And I do mean my use. My achievements in Will, like any Sparrow's, are entirely self taught, and though I may know to guide my power into more advanced directions than other Sparrows, at the end of the day I'm still a boy feeling things out, and arriving at different solutions to those provided by the Guild of Heroes. In my most recent meditations on the Will, I'd discovered Sparrow's natural capacity to channel ambient Will to fuel spells, and while this process is certainly slower than simply utilizing my own internal supply of energy, the end result is far more magic use over time, and a modicum of control over the form the spells take.

"Talk while we pack." I told her and began rolling up our sleeping arrangements, "I've been dropping a lot of new and shocking shite on you today, and I'm proud that you've kept that stiff upper lip, but a giant beam of magic just shot into the sky and everyone and everything for hundreds of miles could see it. It's time to utilize that most handy of Heroic Traits: indefatigability, and employ that most noble Heroic Strategy: Run Away."

A substantial portion of Invincible's tragedies can be avoided by Mark not being Mark, thus being incapable of learning things any other way than the hardest way possible. Kirkman is an extreme believer in the suffering of an MC making the story better, so Mark almost always made the dumbest choices possible so he could suffer more consequences.

What did you think? I think I should add the "slice of life" tag to this; I know there are many great events in "Invincible," but most of them can be avoided by doing X or Y thing. I don't want to simply repeat the canon. At the same time, I don't want an empty story that just goes from major Event A to major Event B.
