He is not a canon character, but one of the side characters I introduced. So are Shigio and Namate. At the start of the anime, Agil has a party, though they only appear briefly and are never mentioned again.

Author here, thanks for pointing it out! That's a problem that happened after one of Webnovel's updates a few months back, which erased words inside some of the <> symbols (but now all, which is somehow more annoying). As you will see, later on I changed skill and mob names to italic so we didn't have this problem anymore. I'll probably go through the fic and do the same to the chapters written before the update at some moment, but haven't had the time yet. If you spot any more of the same problem, feel free to point it out so I can fix them and make the story better!

You aren't the first to say that. I haven't read Unyielding or any other SAO fanfic (I try not to read fiction of things I plan to write about), but it's already on my list for when Shattered is over, since so many people said it's one of the best SAO fics out there.

They do have cooldown, but they don't share said cooldown with sword skills. So a player can use a Martial Arts skill while their sword skills are on cooldown and vice-versa.
