technicaly modern slave trade thinkings like that ...... as mostly the black skin afrikan are more relevent in the modern slave trade as the are seen more barbaric and un-civilized especially during the colonisation period than any other regions ..... ancient slave trade is if you have skill you are elevated the higher you value and you can make use of your skill ....... like the slav Brutish physic/vikings sailing and shipbuilding knowledge/ the ottomans janissaries in combat and strategies/ the mamluks slave where their leader eventually established a dynasty with the whole mamluk army/ Chinese papermaking and gunpowder knowledge/ Afrikans farming/food cultivation skill / etc ....... like in the story where sometime they get paid and treated with some respect and dignity......... it is the modern slave practice the is the vile where you are treated solely as assets not humans ..... at least ancient slave are treated better and they are not slave because of skin but of situations ... war prisoner/ debt / sell by family members to get some money / "to live" sell yourself because you are not able to support yourself/ criminals to avoid death and true some by pillaging and raids to be sell for goods.
