"At the end of this path is Darkcrypt!" Davien suddenly announced.
Bel sat upright immediately and looked outside the carriage. "We're here?" she asked, looking around. Nothing looked different, and it certainly didn't look like a kingdom was anywhere in sight.
"Technically, it will still take us another hour, but there won't be any more turns. It's a straight path from here," he explained.
The tunnel widened even further, and the walls smoothed out, indicating that they were getting closer to something. Perhaps Darkcrypt. Bel glanced out the carriage window, trying to catch glimpses of the surroundings.
The tunnel was now lit with glowing crystals embedded in the walls, casting a soft light that made the passage ahead seem almost magical. The rough, jagged rocks had given way to carefully carved stone. It was clear that a great deal of effort had gone into creating this path, making it both functional and beautiful.
