Chapter 19

The Sun has gone below the horizon, but its rays are still illuminating the sky. The weather is getting cold with each passing moment. In the sword palace, unaffected by it, Ling Jian is sitting on her throne while vice sect master Chen is standing in front of her. There is no present apart from them.

"Vice sect master, do you still have doubts about her after the fight?" Ling Jian asks.

Vice sect master makes a dejected expression after hearing that question, but he sighs and responds "I still have doubts about her being the ancestor" he takes a small pause "but I have no doubts about her intention"

"Oh, I wasn't expecting that," Ling Jian says with a slight surprise. Vice sect master is a stubborn man and Ling Jian knows it too, that's why she showed a slight surprise.

"If she really had any bad intentions, I don't think I would be alive to talk to you," vice sect master says. That's true if Yuki really had any malicious intention, she would have killed him right there and then.

"That's true" Ling Jian nods her head

"Besides with her power, if she ever decides to do anything, who can stop her?" vice sect master says what's been on his mind ever since the fight.

"But she will never do that" Ling Jian defends Yuki "I don't feel any malice from her".

The vice sect master just nods her head with a poker face, it's hard to tell whether he's convinced or not. After a few moments vice sect master suggests

"Sect Master, since she is going to the celebration, we should announce her presence to the sect"

"I know" Ling Jian replies with a smile "I've already thought about this"

"Really?"

Ling Jian nods her head.

'She has already thought about this, looks like she has grown a little' vice sect master thinks in his mind because he still vividly remembers the day when a young girl was made the sect master of the sect. The girl was full of innocence and only knew how to laugh, if he could he wouldn't have allowed it, but circumstances were such. There is a hint of reminiscence in his eyes, but he doesn't let it show on his face.

"I'll take my leave then, sect master" vice sect master Chen leaves the room.

"Okay"

'I'll tell her about this during dinner' Ling Jian thinks in her mind.

Later that evening.

Yuki, elder Ya, and Ling Jian are currently present in elder Ya's room. For some time now, Yuki and Ling Jian have been coming to her room every night for dinner.

There are big halls present for disciples to eat dinner, and there are multiple halls present in the sect. There are also halls for elders, but most elders don't use them, they just use their own rooms.

Before Yuki came, Ling Jian used to have dinner with elder Ya in her room, but that has changed. Now every night both of them come to elder Ya's room to have dinner. And elder Ya has no problem with it, on the contrary, she likes it, as it is fun with both of them around.

"So how was your day?" Yuki cheerfully asks

"It was fine, elder sister" elder Ya replies with a sweet smile. When elder Ya's with someone else, she addresses Yuki as an ancestor, but when she's with Yuki, she calls her elder sister.

"And you little Ling?" Yuki asks looking towards Ling Jian.

"It was like any other day, just work. But forget about those things, I have something else to talk about" Ling Jian says.

'What does junior sister want to talk about?' elder Ya looks towards Ling Jian.

'I guess little Ling also wants to talk about the slash I used' Yuki thinks. She will answer anything which Ling Jian wants to know.

"What do you want to talk about, little Ling?" Yuki asks.

"I plan on having a ceremony to announce you as the ancestor of the sect," Ling Jian says while pointing a finger at Yuki.

".." Yuki becomes somewhat dumbfounded as she wasn't expecting that, while elder Ya becomes a silent spectator.

'Little Ling wants to have a ceremony for me?'

When Ling Jian sees Yuki making a dumb expression, she glares at Yuki and says

"Say something, don't act like you can't speak"

"Is it necessary?" Yuki reluctantly says.

Her answer makes Ling Jian slightly grumpy, she furrows her brows and says in a growling voice "What do you mean by is it necessary? Do you want to keep worrying about people every time you go somewhere in the sect?" Since Yuki's existence is not known to many, she has to be cautious where she goes in the sect.

"I don't, but I am not really fond of such things" Yuki replies. But before Ling Jian, who is fuming by the way, could even answer, elder Ya interjects and tells Yuki

"But elder sister, you will be going along with sister Chi to the Rising sun sect's celebration. You will need an identity for it" Since the celebration is for a heavenly realm master, every sect will send its important people to attend it. A lot of people are expecting vice sect master Chen to attend it. But if someone is going to attend in his place, that person needs to have high standing just like vice sect master Chen or it will raise some questions.

"I can't really do much when you put it like that" Yuki says with a sigh. Elder Ya's logical argument has left Yuki no choice to refuse, but she is still reluctant about it.

"So when is the ceremony?" Yuki asks looking towards Ling Jian

"2 days from now" Ling Jian responds

"Do I need to prepare for it or something?"

"You don't need to do anything, you just need to be present and show your face when I announce your presence and that's all" Ling Jian explains

"That's all"

"That's all" Ling Jian affirms.

"By the way, when is the Rising sun sect's celebration?" Yuki asks something else that has been on her mind

"Elder sister, that's 2 weeks from now" Elder Ya answers instead of Ling Jian.

Yuki nods her head. After that, the three of them have their dinner. Yuki and Ling Jian leaves for their room after eating.
