Honeymoon ( 14 )

The hearts of the two drivers felt as if they were about to fall out of their places when Bara approached them, they were stroking their chests.

"You surprised us, Boss," Abi said calmly.

"Where is the other?"  Bara glanced around.

"Over there, Boss."  Dayat's finger pointed towards Defri and Iqbal.

Iqbal and Defri approached them and they continued their way to the mosque.

When they returned from the mosque, Defri invited the male congregation to attend a thanksgiving for the smooth running of Dila and Bara's wedding party.

Naura and Ria had prepared a variety of foods. In thanksgiving events, they usually eat on the floor which had been covered with carpets.

Naura and Dila arranged the food neatly. There were rendang, pangek padeh ikan, fried green chilli fish with jengkol and eggplant. There were sponge cakes, watermelon fruit, beef jerky and curried fish, and vegetables, curried potato shoots.

Ustad led a prayer of salvation for Bara and Dila's marriage. They prayed that their marriage would last until death due them apart and immediately be given a baby. After prayer they ate the food that had been provided.

The congregation ate deliciously.  The food that was served were all delicious. All the women at home helped to cook everything except Dila.

After eating, the congregation greeted Defri and Bara in turn before leaving.

Dila helped Naura and Ria to clean up with a maid. Dila picked up dirty dishes, while grandma Uwa, grandma Haya and Lusi were only supervisors.  In Dila's family, even though there was a household member, each family member will be assigned the task of doing household chores. Women must be good at cooking.

"Don't help. You better pack your things to go on a honeymoon."  Naura prevented Dila from participating in tidying up the dirty dishes from the thanksgiving.

"It's okay. I've packed."

"You have. How about Bara?"  Ria asked angrily. The effect of fighting with Naura last night was Ria's mood worsened and her innate anger was unclear.

"Ria, what's wrong? Why are you mad," replied Dila, no less furious.

Just because all this time she was silent, that did not mean that Ria can step on her at will. Dila was silent because she was reluctant to Iqbal. If she didn't look at Ria as her sister, she may have already fought Ria.

"Why are you even angry with me Dil?"  Ria asked, did not accept. Only this time Dila was angry with her.

"You started it. If I didn't get pinch, I wouldn't pinch you first."  Dila put on a dirty look.

Ria bit her finger to face Dila. From all ages married to Iqbal, this was the first time Dila had acted like this to her. Ria clenched her fists tightly. Ria suspected that Dila's reticence was due to Naura's incitement because Dila and Naura were very close. Flames of anger flared up in her heart.  She hated her husband's first wife even more.

"Don't listen to Naura incitement. She hates me," Ria said, she was accusing Naura.

Naura's jaw tightened because she was accused of inciting Dila to hate Ria. Naura was not such a petty woman.

"Don't just accuse. I already know who you are all this time. I'm silent because I don't want to hurt Iqbal's feelings. I know that you often talk badly  behind my back since I turned down your cousin. I'm not a sheep to fight. Stop accusing Naura of inciting me. You should go play far away so you won't be cunning like that." Dila said as she left Naura and Ria who was stunned.

Just a step away from her two sisters-in-law Dila turned back to look at Ria.

"One thing that you need to remember, Ria. In our family there should be no quarrels in the morning because it makes the whole house unlucky. So don't be the cause of unlucky in this house."

Dila's words hit Ria and Naura's heart.

Naura can't stop thinking of why Dila can act like this to Ria. Usually Dila can control her emotions towards Ria but this time she let out all her grievances.

Naura looked away from Ria. She left her honey.

Ria screamed hysterically, she felt humiliated by Dila and can't fight Dila's argument. Ria's hurt for Dila and Naura had reached the final stage. She had a grudge against her honey and her sister-in-law.

"Don't be happy just yet. I will repay my heartache to both of you. Even though I'm alone in this house, you can't underestimate me. Watch out for you two," Ria said in a monologue.
