CHAPTER 3: FIRST MEETING

Alexa couldn't help but feel happy as she learnt that this place wasn't as abandoned as she thought.

She could hear the sounds of different cars passing, all of them heading to same location.

'Probably a party of some sort' she thought.

Even if they are not invited but she's glad as she found the noise soothing, it's always been too quiet, so she appreciated the noise almost like she's back in the city.

The cars pass as they head to the King's palace.

Men dressed in their finest suit and ladies dressed to impress, they hardly ever have royal balls, and some females are hoping to be chosen as the King's mate.

King Alpha Eros Benji.

He sat in his throne room exhausted before the party has even started.

His wolf is restless.

He doesn't want to go to the ball, could just stop it all and anyone who dares question him will be immediately executed, but he knows he has to go the ball.

It didn't take long for his Beta to summon him, and he headed for the ballroom.

The room went quiet when the King entered the ballroom, everyone with their head bowed, his intimidating aura frightening some people, while some fought against it and tried to take a peek of the rumored beastly King. Some don't even know what he looks like, he is hardly ever seen out of his Palace.

"You May rise" his deep voice announced before he moved to his throne and sat, immediately almost everyone went back to what they were doing while some Alpha's tried to get the King's attention, they could be lucky if he picked their daughters. No one really bothered by the King not giving a speech, they know he's a man of few words and it also against all his nature he's sitting on his throne at the moment waiting to pick a bride.

The ball was going smoothly as the King tried to act interested in the Alphas introducing their daughters but failed with him giving them all a bored look.

When the Beta noticed his friend's nonchalant attitude and he saw no improvement much to his own happiness, an idea came to him, and he went closer to his friend to tell him.

"Your highness, why don't you do us the honor to pick 20 beautiful ladies that will use 3 month here in the palace, by the end of that three months I'm sure you'll have found a female you'll like to choose as your bride among them" he said, all the while his only intention was to try and buy his friend a little more time to find his mate, the eyes of the councilmen around the King brighten at the idea.

They could all see they are getting nowhere with this ball so why not go with the Beta's idea.

The King almost looks pained at the idea, 3 months of 20 females trying to get his attention.

Hopefully he would survive, or heads might just roll down few heads.

"2 months" he said, and the councilmen agreed instantly, at least he's accepting their decision.

After giving them the permission to choose the 20 ladies he stood up gaining the attention of almost everyone if not everyone in the ball room and left the ballroom needing some fresh air, all the while people fawned at his presence, but he seems not to have noticed.

He didn't know when his legs took him outside the palace and into the woods.

His guards following silently behind him making themselves invisible among the trees, but he knows they are there.

Is this how his life is going to be now.

Him living the rest of his life with someone he doesn't know.

A yelp brought him out of his thoughts, and he looked around.

He wasn't scared, he just thought which idiot will dare to disturb him the King.

He smelt a strange scent but instead of him to feel annoyed as usual, he almost felt happy, confused with these strange feelings, he grew agitated.

"Come out" he growled out as he could feel a gaze burning through his body.

His wolf even more restless and growling giving him headache.

He waited a minute, and no one came out, for some reason the scent is clouding his senses and he couldn't concentrate on where the person hiding is.

His wolf was growling trying to tell him something, but everything was jumbled.

Alexa cursing herself for walking this far away from home as she starred at the man's back.

She was just curious, and she sneaked out to know where all those cars were going.

But she could feel someone coming so she hid not until a branch decided to scratch her hand and she yelped.

She could have just used her magic and disappeared back home, but her mother warned her not to ever use her magic in front or near someone that isn't them.

For some reason she wasn't scared even as the man kept growling like an animal.

She was just intrigued.

"I said come out" the man again said through gritted teeth, he seems agitated, and she really want to sooth him.

She's not surprised by the feelings coursing through her because that's how she is, she has always been like that, caring for people without even knowing them.

She didn't even know her legs carried her out of her hiding place not until she was directly behind him.

King Eros tensed when he felt a presence behind him, he doesn't know why but he's scared to look, for the first time since his childhood he's scared, and he doesn't even know why.

"You're dismissed" he mind linked his guards, they tried to argue but one growl from him and he felt their presence leave immediately.

If he was scared, he wouldn't show that in front of his people.

"Are you okay?" A timid voice said behind him, and he snarled, his beast getting the best of him.

The feelings he got at the sound of that voice was out of the world.

The sound was angelic, like nothing he's ever heard before.

Slowly he turned and his purple iris which was flicking to red and back to purple as his wolf was fighting for control was met with silver and it almost seem like his heart stopped.

No sound met his ears again, now he could hear what his wolf has been screaming clearly.

'Mate Mate Mate' his wolf cried.

He found his mate.

He found his mate and she's perfect.

Her white hair falling down her waist in a soft wave, the soft and worried look on her face made him want to cry in joy.

Him the King of all werewolves wanted to cry because of a woman!

His mate was worried about him!

Alexa looked at the male in front of her and couldn't help but be speechless, he is perfect.

His chiseled jaw so sharp she's thinks it can cut her if she isn't careful.

His purple eyes looking so radiant with his deep red hair, never did she think purple and red could make a perfect match but now she thinks it would make wonderful matches.

She almost thought she could see his eyes changing to red, it most likely the reflection of the sun.

Then she remembered he had been agitated and her face turned to worry.

Is he hurt? She thought.

She could hear low vibrations coming from him almost sounding like a growl and she looked at him confused.

"Are you okay?" She asked again and his eyes went wide before he nodded dumbfounded, the expression looking weird on him.

She smiled when he nodded, and the breath was knocked off King Eros.

He thought she looks like an angel but when she smiled, she looks more like a goddess.

The sun was even brighter and the sky clearer when she smiled but he was too busy taking her in to notice.

Talk to mate his wolf growled.

"What are you doing out here alone in the woods?" He asked and that's when he took in her outfit.

He thought she was also here for the ball but when he saw her in a tight jean and hood then he knew he was mistaken, then he sniffed the air.

And the smell of a human waft to his nose, he didn't notice before because he was overwhelmed by finding his mate but now his mate is human!

There's no history of a human Queen.

His face turned to a scowl as he thought of how most of his people would want to reject her and how she wouldn't be able to protect herself from harm.

He needs to do something; he can't let them know now or people might come out to get her.

'Humans are weak, she'll become an easy target to get to him, she will become his weakness'.

All the while Alexa stood patiently seeing different emotions passing through the man's face.

He asked her a question and she replied to him, but he seems to be in his own world.

She then remembered no one knows where she is, so quickly, she ran back home forgetting she was with someone, she has the attention span of a baby, and when she was at a fair distance teleported back to her home.

King Eros came back to his senses after a little debate with his wolf and his mate was nowhere to be found.

How did he lose her.

He tried following her scent, but it also stopped in the middle of the woods.

He growled confused, scared and heartbroken.

He just found her; he couldn't lose her again.

He almost went berserk searching for her, but it all went to no avail.

She wasn't anywhere in his territory, and he couldn't leave the territory because everyone in his pack will feel it and that will bring about questions.

Sadly, he went back to his palace.

While the council informed him that the 20 females have been chosen, he just nodded the only thought in his head was his mate.

He needs to find her.

Everyone knew something was wrong with their King but didn't question him. He is a silent man, but this level of silence is different.

While Alexa received scolding from her mother, she couldn't help but be happy she met the strange man and sad she had to leave him without saying goodbye.

Maybe they will meet again.
