Chapter 6

Alundra hurriedly ran as fast as she could to reach her car parked at the lot behind this 5-storey university. She was getting pissed of the heels echoing the tiled floor of the 5th, the peak of the 5-storey English Department of the University of the Orient where she studied her Masters.

It's quite annoying that her car was parked too far from the exit door that she needs to walk another 500 meters toward the exact location.

"So disgusting!" she commented.

"No wonder I could see any varicose vein coming out from my legs for this tiring lasting walking experience today.

She pulled out her car remote, then it sounded and she heard a sound. A hint. She opened her car when a sound of gunshots were echoing through the car park area. She suddenly hid at her car's back door. After a series of gunshots, deafening peace throughout the area.

"What's happening?"She tried asking herself while confused about the incident . "Is there someone's gonna kill me?"

She felt herself trembling in fear, uncontrollably shaking knees and uncertainty frightened of the scene which vaguely resembled something she cannot figure out.

She tried to look after her car remote which she accidentally threw out of panic. She kept on searching her car remote under her car when she saw a dog's feet. A dog? Why the hell there's a dog in this car park? It seemed so big, so furry.

What kind of breed was it then? She noticed peacefulness, Noise had stopped. No sound of footsteps she could. Maybe she can stand up and finally get her remote on the other side of the car. She stood up and breathed heavily while alerting herself by looking at all the edges of the parking area. No more signs of strange movements. She then got to the other side and finally got her remote and quickly slid on to drive home.

She drove home for 30 minutes. "Traffic was disgusting. "She arrived short-tempered. "How was your day, Alundra?" she faced the direction of the voice.

"All is well, except the gunshots at the car park."settling herself to a couch lifting her feet. She massaged her temple, eyes closed and yawned.

"What did you say? A gunshots? Did you see the attacker? What happened? Zandra's series of questions annoyed her a bit, but apparently sent warmth to her heart knowing that she found a family with them . Four years ago, she was nothing. Unknown, perhaps an oddball that knows nothing. So strange. Four years but not even once she could remember some glimpse of her past. Forgotten.

"And oh, another one!" she added. "What else?" Zandra's eyes widened expecting more. "I saw a dog?" Her statement seemed like a question. "What dog? I mean, is it big or small? What color then? Zandra's becoming even more curious.

"Ahhmmm, I can't say how huge it was because I was busy getting my remote, I dropped it when I heard gunshots somewhere else."But,I'm so sure it was a dog"."And then?" Zandra got even more interested in what happened. "Nothing more."

"What?" As in you never got a chance to see the whole body of the ...dog? "Nope" Alundra popped "p"."I think I need to text someone."Zandra stood up and took her phone." What happened?"she wrote .

"It's Croax,"someone replied. "Do not let him get near the luna." Her command. "I know, dont worry I'm in her shadow." said the other line.

Days passed and no traces of Croax, Alvin's lupine, Gregory's Delta. That day was a tough fight between them, Alvin was disguised as one of the institution's professors. Good thing, Raf learned Alvin's hidden disguise.

He had always been eyeing Alundra from afar, and he's also aware of his demonic father's plans. No one could ever hurt her. Not anymore, he pledged to himself after that tragic night of fire. The alpha Romeo and Queen Cassia's daughter shall be safe and free from his father's disgust.

Over his dead body, the next Luna shall remain safe and in due time, the Pthalo Shadows of the Orient will regain its power, fame and supremacy over all other packs in the continent. This could only be realized when Luna will be spared against the rage of Gregory's selfishness to the throne;when she finally could shift and turn herself to her true werewolf being then, at that moment no other supernatural could ever defeat the pack.

"My loyalty would always be to the Pthalo Shadows. The pack is my family. The pack which molded me to my potential. The pack my mother was protecting over my egotistical, selfish father. I am ashamed of being his son." Raf at himself.

Good morning everyone, our new Institution Owner-Administrator has arrived and he's gonna be visiting our classes these days. He's the youngest internationally acclaimed archaeologist, biologist, lawyer and physician. "Wow" everybody's lips formed an 'O', greatly surprised by the new administrator's impressive enviable affiliation. "He?" a male for sure! Olivia, Alundra's friend.

"Surely an old one." one bitter comment from Nate. Alundra faced Nate,"bitter huh!" They all guffawed in chorus.

Olivia, Alundra and Nate became friends four years ago when Alundra was sent to study in the University for her bachelor's degree. They were classmates and later became best friends;

They all walked towards the car park area when they got to see Alvin, one of the University staff lying helpless seemed lifeless on the floor. "Oh my God!" Olivia shouted. They ran towards him. Nate checked his vitals.

"He's dead!" he said.

"What, how could it happen?".Oh,God! Olivia's panicking voice echoed throughout the ground floor car park.

Alundra again felt herself' panic attack. She was trembling in fear, tensed and twitched, scared for unknown reasons, maybe it was because of a traumatizing experience she had four years ago. The feelings, fears and anxiety kept coming back and forth whenever the same circumstances crossed her way.

"Hey, take a look! "Nate grabbed her hand and took her nearer Alvin's lying body.

"He seemed to have fought against and was bitten to death by an animal. " Nate was certain that Alvin wasn't fighting a human because of the scratches, deep wounds and long lacerations on his back.

"Look, there are furs on the floor. " Olivia pointed to the other side. "Alvin must have combated an animal". Nate concluded. "Come on, let's call the Police." Alundra suggested.

"Olivia, call Uncle Harvey, he must check it out." Nate ordered. "Okay!"

Nate noticed Alundra's uncontrollable trembling, her shaking hands got wet and pale. He held Alundra's shaking hands. "Alundra, calm down. Don't worry about this, the police officers will investigate this incident, and in no time, we'll learn what really happened. Go on, slide on your car now."

"Yeeyow, yeeyow, a loud high noise from a police car preceding an emergency vehicle signals the arrival of responders. "They're here now, calm down Alundra.'' comforting words from Olivia while tapping her back.

Alundra heaved a sigh of relief seeing the approaching emergency responders towards their direction.

"Mysterious. Unbelievable. "The police officer answered the media reporter's on-spot interview pertaining to the incident. "It's an isolated case, we have never encountered a tragic death like this. " The victim needs to be sent for an autopsy since our observations are yet unsure for now. "

"There must be a resemblance with what I saw last week. "Alundra's eyes grew wider as she recalled the furry creature which took her car remote last week .

She intently looked at Olivia, eyes overflowed with tears brought by trembling senses, sweating and chilling.

"Don't worry, it'll all be answered after the autopsy. "Olivia held her sweaty hands. "But in the meantime, let's go home and freshen up because it's been a hard day!" We'll just ride in Nate's car, I don't know I could drive by myself." she added.
