Warlock Pact: Nature Spirit

I blink a little when I see that I appear in the middle of a beautiful meadow.

"You are here. Take a seat."

My head looks to the left, and I see a beautiful woman sitting on a chair, holding a cup of tea. She is not human. It is not because I am racist or anything, but because she has an antler and she is green.

I hesitate for a second before taking the seat in front of me.

"You must have a lot of questions."

"Yeah. Even if this is a dream, I cannot think of a way to dream this."

"That's fair enough. My name is Gaia. Yes, I am the same Gaia your mythology writes about. I am the Primordial Being that embodies the concept of Life Planet."

"Life Planet?"

"Planet that produces sentient life like humans."

"Right. What do you want from me?"

She takes a sip and says,

"I want to make a pact with you. Think of it as a Warlock from DnD."

"Oh?"

"Yes. I will give you power; in return, you will work for me."

She raises her hand before I can ask her something.

"Before you say anything, I will not keep you as my worker. This is a One-and-Done pact between us. You can return to Earth after your job is done. Of course, I am more than willing to accept your service once again if you want it. Don't worry. I will reward you for each job and pay you upfront."

I look at her for a second before saying.

"What kind of job will I need to do? And what sort of thing do I need to give you for this pact?"

"Smart man. You already have a few guests, and it is half correct. I need you to rescue the lives that stay on the planet instead of fixing the planet itself."

"Really?"

"What? Do you think that I am angry that they pollute the planet? Yes, I do. However, a planet is more durable than you humans think it is. Pollution is dangerous not to the planet but to you humans. If you pollute it too much, it will kill your race and leave the planet to regrow life. Sadly, it will take a long time for it to happen, and for each planet that loses sentient lives, I lose part of me."

"So you want me to fix that."

"Yes. You know about this world. It is called Remnant, the planet that two stupid gods leave."

"How can that world cause an extinction? Is Grimm's population higher in this world?"

"No. Without those two idiots, the balance of this world is compromised. Famine and the melting of ice in Solitas will be the doom of all lives. Plants will have a hard time growing and bearing fruits, causing food shortages globally."

She snapped her finger and created an image for me to see.

"Vacuo Kingdom is the first one to fall. Law no longer matters, and people start to attack each other, even eat their fellow humans and faunus. It does not take a decade before lives cease to exist in that place."

"Can't you help them? Make the land fertile or something."

"It will take twenty-one years before the effects start showing. Why do you think I created those two? To maintain that balance and ensure the planet's Lifeforce is full. The White One is causing the famine because he abandoned his duty to fill the Lifeforce. The Black One created those icy continents on a whim, and now he is gone, with no one maintaining the ice. It is created using his Divinity, and now it melts at an alarming rate because his divinity is running out."

Yikes. That is a problem.

"That is where you are coming from. I need you to make sure humans and faunus survive the disaster. You don't need to stay there for a century or something as long as you create a good foundation for them to survive for the next one hundred years. As long as you manage to do that, I will call you and send you back to your earth with your power intact. Think of the power you want from this pact that will help you. As your patron, I will give you the ability to control plants, and any creatures related to nature will be friendly to you. That means Faunus will be friendly to you even though you are human. Lastly, I will give you an identity as the last son of a wealthy businessman who decided to buy an island and live there as a hermit."

She summons a paper and gives it to me.

"To fulfill the pact between us, I will take a lot of your blood, and it will be permanent. That means losing blood is something very dangerous for you. Lastly, you cannot and will not be able to tell others about this pact and job to anyone."

Gaia looks at me, and when she sees me nod, she continues.

Pick the power you want, and spill some blood on the paper after you are done. I leave you some points that you can use to gather your power."

I look at the paper and the pen for a second before taking them. I don't have anything back home, and this is an opportunity to leave that life.

I look at the paper and see what kind of power I can get from this pact. To my surprise, there are a lot of options. I can take six Magic Fields that let me wield magic to my content. They are not an immediate power boost but rather a knowledge in that Magic Field. However, there is one section of selection that lets me wield the power at full power immediately. After reading for a few seconds, I pick something that will help me complete the job.

It is the power of Planeshifting—the ability for me to travel the blind eternities and explore the omniverse.

I decided to take Artifice, Golem-Crafting, Alchemy, Warding, and Biomancy as my Magic Fields to help me create a farm that can support the entire world. As for offensive magic, I decided to take Hydromancy because I stay on an island surrounded by water.

I spend my reminder points on buying boons from Gaia. I buy six boons: Shadow, Combat Talent, Invictus, Gravitas, Occluded, and Prodigy. Shadow let me have a resistance to any divining information about me. Combat Talent is self-explained; it lets me use all kinds of combat techniques I encounter and instinctively use all kinds of weapons for combat. Invictus will let my willpower never waver. Gravitas increases my charisma and lets people listen to my words more easily. Occluded will prevent any mind-related attack from working against me. Prodigy lets me learn anything other than combat-related easily.

With all my points gone, I pick up the needle, stab my finger, and smear some blood onto the paper. I can see the paper glow and turn into a ball of light that splits into two. The first half enters my body, and the second one enters Gaia.

She nods her head and says.

"With this, the pact has been made. Do well in your job, Caelan White, and I will give you a bonus."

After saying that, my vision was covered with white light, and the next thing I knew, I was lying on a bed.

Nature Spirits are spirits that tend to be associated with some kind of concept within nature, such as rivers, forests and so on. They can be harsh, but are generally fair and forgiving.

Nature Spirits offer their Warlocks an affinity with nature and it's creatures that ensures they can always be at peace within the spirit's home ground.

The glaciers long frozen has cracked, and are now rapidly melting. Rivers shall overflow, fields be flooded, settlements ruined, and the seas raised. It will take years for the glaciers to be fully melted, and this apocalyptic flow of water shall continue with little abatement until it does so, and civilization shall be in most dire straits, and is unlikely to get back together for many years afterwards, with all it's efforts disrupted by the floods.

These are magics focused on manipulating the biology of living things. This can be used to craft new beings through your spellcasting abilities, though this can also include effects that heal or inflict illnesses.
