Ascended order

It was as if I stepped into an abyss.

Thick layers of darkness cloaked the surroundings, shrouding it in a sense of uncanny mystery.

Over the rails of the ship, horrifying waves as high as buildings angrily struck the ship, causing water to flood the deck.

The sea which was once calm, had awoken into a furious monster, as if all the white it has just been asleep.

The ship itself was like a mother mourning her dead child, as it rocked back, and forth, in a violent and unrestrained manner.

I gripped side of the entrance with inhuman strength, frozen into place by the outside.

WHOOOOSHHHHHH!

A powerful wave shook the boat, making it jolt sharply. I was thrown forward, and I found myself crashing into the rail.

I let out a grunt, before using the rail both as an anchor and as a support. I stood up slowly, before looking up.

I may have lived a meger sixteen years, but in all of this time, not once did I see something as petrifying and as mystifying as what I saw.

A single wave reached into the sky, so high it was that it seemed to be a part of the sky. It was like a massive wall before us, stopping us from going further forward.

It was a terrible sight yes, but it was not the worst thing I saw. From within the waves, two giant red flames appeared, burning so brightly it lit up the darkness.

However, I could not rejoice.

Emerging from the somehow unmoving wave was a collosal creature. It seemed humanoid, though it's head held the appearance of a ridiculously large octopus.

The two flame like eyes stared at our ship, and as easily as wading through a swallow pond, did it begin to walk forward.

The horrible pressure increased, and I could gasp out a single word.

"Ascended..."

...

The moment the realisation fell upon me, I lost all hope.

Our instructor, Leno Vivo was a 3rd order Tracker, which made things complicated.

Truth be told, even a peak 4th order Tracker would be no match for an Ascended order. The gap between the two was undescribable.

That's why, most known Ascended order Trackers were naturally at that level, without any hard work.

Hard Work wasn't enough to bridge the gap between the two. Those in that class were simply monsters, and were set apart from others.

That's why, I was sure that nothing could be done. Only and Ascended order could fight against another in Ascended order.

"Wait..." Like a matchstick lit in the dark, a bright idea found itself amongst my dark thoughts.

What I had in mind was crazy, no, it was ridiculous. However, right now I was sure to die if I did nothing.

Ridiculous or not, what I was about to do would save us all.

I reached a hand into my pocket, pulling out a small notebook. My other hand held the railing, stopping me from BEING thrown into the sea.

I placed the book on my thigh, before using my fingers to awkwardly open it.

I then placed it in my mouth to keep it open before pulling out the pen that was in my shirt pocket.

"Alright..." I said once I was ready.

Using my lap as a support, I began to draw.

My hand moved rapidly, and the first thing I drew was a circle. It was difficult drawing and supporting the book at the same time, with one hand, but i managed.

I then drew another circle within that one, before repeating the process.

It was as I remembered it in the book.

Ignoring the sound of the waves, I threw my pen aside and lifted my hand to my mouth, before placing my index finger between my teeth.

I bit, steeling myself against the pain that followed. Lifting my finger, I acknowledged that I had done what I wanted to.

It was bleeding.

Immediately, I placed my finger on the book. I used my blood as ink, to draw an X over the circle.

After I was done with that, I placed the book on the ground, before resting my palm on the book.

I took a deep breath in.

"Summoning technique #11. Body lending. Using this technique, I hereby summon the Abyssal ghost of the corpse graveyard. Roho."

Suddenly, a whirling purples mass of energy began to form around the paper. It was rapid as it circulated, and increased in size.

It was sudden, forcing me to close my eyes. However, in the next second, the sensation of wind on my skin disappeared, replaced a strange coolness.

A strange, yet powerful voice, one that reverberated with nonchalance and power filled my ears.

It was so malevelont, so grand, that it sent shivers down my spine.

"Now, now, now. Which weakling dared to summon me now?"
