After three years of marriage, Wendy Stewart was used to Michael Lucas's sarcastic remarks, his frequent threats about getting divorced, and even his indulgence of a mistress. She thought that she could bear with this her entire life, until she accidentally got pregnant with a child that Michael did not want. Finally despondent, Wendy signed the divorce agreement and left. She thought they could have parted ways forever, but Michael refused to stop looking for her after the divorce. When they met again, she was the world's top designer. Smiling sweetly at her ex-husband, she said, "My dear, we're already divorced." Michael simply stared at her coldly, "Tell me, what will it take for us to reconcile?"
The office was full of people.
But it was surprisingly quiet.
Nobody spoke again.
Michael looked at Wendy without moving and, fearing she might be soft-hearted, he took the lead himself and headed for the lounge.
Unfortunately, he didn't know where the safe was and had to walk out again.
Seeing this, Wendy took a deep breath and finally turned around and headed for the lounge.
"Corrine, if you step through the door to the lounge today, and we will no longer have a mentor and apprentice relationship," Timothy, watching Wendy turn her back on her way to the lounge, said in a determined voice.
Things had come to the point where they actually couldn't be mentor-and-disciple any longer.
That mentorship and discipleship no longer existed.
They were destined to be on opposing sides.
Michael looked at Wendy and knew that she was upset.
