Chapter 1Awakening

Day 1, Time: Unknown/Date: Unknown

The first thing that I remember after opening my eyes is the container that I was in and the sound of the lid releasing the air form the interior as it opened. Looking down I could see that I had on some sort of wet suit and I was surrounded by a type of gel. Using my arms to assist me I sit up I take in my immediate surroundings. There were other cryo pods that were opened and others that were still closed, along with wires going from each one to a series of equipment that showed the status the occupants. What I saw was very disheartening, each one that still had an occupant in it showed status as dead. Looking down I scoop up some of the gel with my right hand to feel the viscosity and to watch it flow from my hand. Sighing I move to get out of the pod, placing my bare feet on what feels like ice due to the metal being cold. Shaking I place my other foot on the ground and sit on the edge of the pod, looking for an area that had some covering that I could use to not slip and bust my head open on the floor. I see a mat that leads to the back of my pod that starts near the back of my pod and appears to loop around. Shimming my ass on the pod I place my right foot on the mat and smile to myself over having traction. I slowly allow myself to stand on two feet and straighten my back. The moment I was standing straight up I got hit with a wave of vertigo. I fell to my knees and proceeded to dry heave as my body was trying to stabilize itself. It took a few moments of ragged breathing and body convulsions for my body to return to normal. Shaking my head, I use the pod that get myself back onto my feet. Slowly moving I go towards the back of my pod and notice that there is a compartment on the back of the pod and it looked as if there was a scanner of sorts on top, I look at my hand and place it on the scanner. Immediately a green line goes from right to left and up to down as it reads my hand, and then flashes green twice.

"Welcome Subject 0-1-3" a metallic female voice sounded in the room as the rear of the pod slide open revealing multiple items. There was clothing, a sidearm, and what looked liked documents inside of a plastic bag that was sealed and had all air removed. Picking up the bag and opening it I pull out the microfiber towel that was in there and quickly dry off my skin before putting on the clothes. The clothing was just a simple black skin tight shirt and loose black cargo pants with socks in side of the pockets. I left the socks in my pocket not wanting to ruin them until I could find shoes of some sort. I leave the side arm in the bag and pull out the documentation, giving that my full and undivided attention.

Inside the documentation were medical papers that had the information that I was looking for. Age: 25 Sex: Male Ethnicity: American DOB: 05/11/2135. Yet oddly no name was listed yet there was a signature that I could not read that I could only assume was my own. There was also a small leather bound journal (same one I'm writing in now) and after shifting through it, I found that I enlisted in the Marine Corps right after I graduated high school and after my first duty station I didn't write in it after, only one note was left, In the Age of Gods there must be Demons. Slightly perturbed I go back to the front of the journal and at last found a name I could use until I remembered my original name. Faolan En Adrian was written near the bottom inside the leather. Deciding to no use the 'En' due to not knowing its purpose I took up the moniker Faolan Adrian. Placing the journal in my left cargo pocket, I round up the remaining paperwork and fold them and place them in my right cargo pocket. It was around this time that I heard a loud bang coming from, what appeared to be a door followed by a roar of something inhuman. Startled I quickly get the sidearm from the bag and instinctually check the clip and to see if there was one in the chamber. Satisfied that I had a semblance of security I slowly move my way towards the door.
