Ch. 24 Another act of Stupidity

I stood in front of a large double door. Behind this door, I would be able to connect with the administrator and take his test.

" Well, what are you waiting for? He's behind those doors." Yu spoke as I didn't bother to look at him.

" You knew I'm an Irregular, didn't you?" I asked.

" Hmm, of course I did. And I also know the other one." He spoke with an amused tone.

I put both of my hands on the doors and opened them, and stepped inside despite the darkness.

After the doors closed, I stood infront ofna large eye, and from what I could make out, a black whale.

" Hmm, so you're the Irregular. Listen well, boy. I prepare tests. I'll make a test that is of equivalent value of your needs. What... are you climbing for?" It asked.

What did I climb for. I know deep down it wasn't for Bam to reach the top but something else.

" Redemption and a Purpose." I replied, looking at the whales large eye.

" The terrible mistakes I've made and the powers beyond my control. I wish to make amends with my past."

" Redemption... and a Purpose.... you already have a purpose, don't you, boy?"

" To help my newfound friends up the tower."

" That would be a difficult path, boy, are you sure?"

" Yes."

" Fine." It closed its eyes as the doors opened, shedding light as I walked towards it.

I met director Yu, who waited outside.

" You knew Bam and I are irregulars. You tried to disqualify Bam during the crowns game by letting Rachel join us." I spoke.

Director Yu smiled.

" I knew you would be able to figure that out. The difference between you and Khun's intelligence is... your experience. " He replied.

" The order in the tower will one day be disrupted, even without you trying. Without order, there is no chaos, and without chaos, there is no order."

" Oh? That's a good quote." He clapped.

" As someone who experiences nothing but chaos and war, order is nothing but an illusion by the people in power." I walked down the hall, leaving he director behind.

I walked back into the auditorium to see Khun on the floor with Rak.

From the words I picked up, it seems everyone had chosen to be on my side despite not having any ties with them, unless...

" So, that's your plan, huh?" I walked up to them and helped Khun up to his feet.

" Having Bam reveal that he's an Irregular and have the others support him."

" Yes, but it's not just Bam, but you as well." He replied.

" Amd. I'm guessing the mascot happened to figure you out." I looked at Rak, who started fuming.

" I'm not a mascot!!"

Khun nodded.

" Yes."

" I see, I'm going to prepare for the test. " I replied before walking away.

The next day, I was in a bubble along with Bam and Rachel.

" You really told everyone you're an Irregular, Bam."

" Haha..." Bam chuckled nervously as he scratched his head.

' I made oath already, and I can't take it back. But that girl... she's a problem. She'll only slow us down, and I'm sure she's just using Bam.'

This mission was provided to me last night when I thought over my future plans and the only way to achieve my purpose in this new life of mine.

" What? Did something start to move... up there?" Bam muttered as he was looking up.

I also looked uo but saw nothing. I didn't hesitate to raise my guard as I observed the surrounding area.

' This feeling... now it feels like I'm standing in the middle of an ambush...' I thought as I activated my [ Sharingan ].

A felt a heavy amount of Shinsu in the air amd looking at Bam, I'm sure he also realized this as well.

' What's going on? Don't tell me it's the bull...'

Bam and Rachel started chatting, something about the stars, festivals and dances.

I looked atbthe distance to see something coming towards us.

" Bam! Take..."

The Bible cracked as a black flashed by.

' The bull... it's here.' I thought as I looked around to see where the bull went.

' There!' I spotted the bull as it was about to rush at us.

I gripped my sword as I was ready to defend Bam and Rachel but Bam managed to stop it with a [ Baang ]

' Right!' I also formed a [ Baang ] with my.left hand and shot it at the Bull stopping it in its tracks.

Bam got too close as he tried form two [ Baangs ] I pulled him back protected with him with my forearm.

I felt the bulls teeth cut through my forearms skin as we both stepped back.

" Zero! Are you okay?!" Bam shouted.

" I'm fine, Don't lose focus!" I replied.

Bam nodded as he focused all the shinsu he had into one [ Baang ]

The bull came back as I decided to do the same.

' Since the shinsu became more dense its perfect for him.' I thought as I attacked the sides of the bull.

[ Brutal Cleave ]

As Bam shot the [ Baang ] through the Bull I spilt the bull finishing it.

Seeing the xp on the panel, I knew the bull was finished.

I looked at my forearm and focused the mana at the injury.

" Haa... We did it, Bam..." I looked behind to see Bam falling off, and I quickly realized that Rachel had pushed him.

' I knew it!!!' I controlled myself from attacking the girl and instead rushed to Bam's aid. I knew it was suicide and a stupid act, but I didn't want to make the same mistake again, because this time, I have the powers to protect my friends.

I grabbed Bam's collar before holding him and activated [ Body Enhancement] to increase our odds of surviving.

" Z..Zero?!!"

" If we die! It's your fault!!" I shouted.
