THE WRONG MOVE

My name is Xinxin. I am a graduate in business management. I was famous in high school as I would always be top 5 in studies. The students would call me a book worm. I don't have many friends except one who was with me for the past five years since school. His name is Xiao Lu. He always sticks with me wherever I go. In the beginning, he used to be very annoying but as time went on, we gradually became best friends. He is the opposite of me . He is funny, energetic, womanizer, good at sports but doesn't score goods marks like me. He always tell me smile so that I can atleast get one girlfriend. Actually many girls like me and send me presents too but because I brutally ignore them, some stopped sending gifts while some still try to seduce me with their looks but I don't give a shit about any of them. When I ignore a girl, Xiao Lu says, " For once atleast have some mercy on them. Look at the gifts they prepared for you. One took 100 days to make 100 origamis for you. At least appreciate their hardwork. If you stop being cold-blooded and smile for once, I am sure you will get a pretty girl real quick." But in the end I don't listen to him because I am not interested in them.

After graduation, Xiao Lu came to my home and asked me," Where are you going to do your intership? I am sure you must have planned out where you would like to go or did you also leave this in the hands of your parents?"

But I said, " I haven't yet planned it out." I actually don't like planning for myself. I like to do work in a smooth manner and if I can't do it, then I will never do it. So I let my parents decide for me where to do my internship.

Then I told him, " It's best if they decide because if I ask them somewhere else where they don't , do you think they will allow me to go there. So in order to prevent any quarrelling, it's better for them to decide than me."

I talked about the internship to my parents. They told me that they decided for me to do intership in Homeware productions. I wasn't expecting that but when I asked them about the reason, they said," Look Xinxin, you always focus on studies and have no idea about what's going on in the outside world except those which you learnt in studies. You are only good at studies but not good at other activities because you think them as useless. But actually they are not. Studies won't help you to face people. You can't always give a cold face to others. They might think of you as an ignorant person. Try to learn something outside the box."

But I still denied as that place wasn't what I wanted. Then they said, " Okay listen Xinxin, if you do your intership in Homeware productions and you still don't like it, then you can select the company of your own and we won't deny with you at all. "

Then I asked," Won't that then be a wastage of my time?"

But they replied, " You can take it as a lesson from the outside world. It's still learning, right?"

I looked at them and after sometime I said, " Fine I will go there but if during these 6 months, I still don't like it, then you will send me to Gu Production." They agreed to my condition.

Gu Production is the best place to do intership. It's one of the famous places to do business. It had never suffered any losses. Most of the toppers would like to go there. It like a dream of every student to join there and get a job there. In a year there are only 50 placements and that too not all are filled up as they they reject students brutally. Homeware productions isn't bad too. It's in the top 5 business productions. My parents have some connections with them, that's why they wanted me to join there.

My father is a manager in Steelware Productions while my mother is a doctor. But to join in Homeware productions, I have to leave for another city which I have never did before. I always stayed with my parents since young. So it's my first time leaving without them. Hope my days ahead go well.
