Clyde took off faster than Evelyn expected, but she was able to keep up as they headed to the east. Evelyn held on tightly and breathed in Clyde's scent. It was warm and smelled of fall spices and tobacco. She almost lost her focus for a moment, but completed the salt line all the way to the eastern corner. She buried the second crystal and Clyde took off again. They made excellent time in getting all four corners done and Evelyn closed her eyes, "Protego, Munitus, Servo, Praesidium!" She shouted. The wind swirled around the estate and she felt her magic settle, a sign that the ward was now in place.
"You are very talented," Clyde said as he admired her work. Setting up a ward was not easy to do on the first try and he was pleasantly surprised by the fact that Evelyn was able to complete one.
"Thank you," she blushed. Something about Clyde made her feel safe and like she could tell him anything. "I was not sure it would work," she admitted.
