It was then that I realized whom I'd just slapped, I looked in fear at the powerful man. I flinched as I prepared for him to hit me back or to do something far worse.

Much to my surprise he simply chuckled. "You've grown quite fond of Griffith, haven't you?" he asked me.

I bit my bottom lip looking at him nervously. "What is wrong with you?" I asked him.

 "I thought you grew out of your affection for Griffith in favor of Aldric," he went on. "I remember you always liked Griffith in the past, long before you married him. You always hoped he would marry you one day and you would become the noble you've always wanted to be. escaping your tragic life in the castle. He always used to come and see you until he suddenly stopped coming to the castle. You were so devastated," he laughed.
