Lunch Meeting or Date?

Since the time Zhenyi had heard that Long Jie agreed to attend the meeting personally, she was somewhat anxious for no reason. One would call her anxiousness, the feeling one gets before they meet their lover. But she had an intuition that something bad was going to happen. She schooled her expressions and decided to deal with what might come next. She firmly believed in 'If you want to conquer the anxiety of life, live in the moment, live in the breath'.

She was Xin Zhenyi. She didn't have the luxury to be worried or anxious. Why? Because worrying caused a distraction and in their lives distraction meant death. She had calculated each and every step of her life whether it was Xin Cooperation, coming to China, or marrying Long Jie. A single mistake of hers could get her whole family killed especially when the predator was hiding in the shadows and unfortunately they had plenty of them.

After an hour-long car ride, she finally reached the restaurant. The vintage sumptuous building was a wonder in its own way. But it was not something that could wear down Zhenyi- the girl who had seen more fine architectures than this.

She speculated to herself why Long Jie would choose such a fancy restaurant for a business meeting. Moreover, the place was quite far from her office. Her earlier worry and anxiousness were long gone as she entered the restaurant.

She entered the lobby of the restaurant and was greeted by a young man which she assumed was the staff member.

"Hello Ma'am, how may I help you?"

She was about to reply to him when she heard an unfamiliar male voice calling her.

"President Xin."

The man greeted her professionally as she was his boss's client. Gu Tian was curious to know the identity of the 'President Xin'. He had heard stories of her but never met her in real life. But when his boss ordered him to make a reservation at this restaurant for him and the president Xin, he was shocked. But he got the shock of his life when he found that the president Xin was a woman. A very beautiful woman to be exact.

If Zhenyi knew what he was thinking he might get another shock of his life but he might not be alive to experience that. But it was not his fault, it was just that the patriarchy had seeped deep into our minds and society.

"This way President Xin," Gu Tian showed her the way towards the private room he had booked on the orders of his boss. The private room he had reserved was the most lavish and expensive in the restaurant.

He was worried about his boss as he had been behaving strangely for the last few days. He surprised the board members when he announced that LG would be collaborating with the XC on the Air-China deal. Then the private deal with Xin Zhenyi especially when he was getting married soon to a wealthy heiress.

Zhenyi followed Long Jie's assistant to a lavish and magnificent private dining room where the point man was engaged on a phone call. She was standing near the door ogling the magnificent creation created by God. Only if she realized what she was thinking.

The man was dressed in a black three-piece suit, a hand in his pocket and another phone attached to his ear and the blue veins could be seen on the same hand. Feeling her gaze on him, he squinted towards her and she came back to her senses.

"Okay! I will call you later," Long jie said and hung the phone. He saw the goddess standing at the door and went towards her.

"Hello," he said softly unlike his normal self. He was hellbent on acting on the advice given by the other man earlier. Or maybe the woman in front of him was capable of triggering the sides he had yet to known.

"Hello," she replied as if she had not noticed anything unusual.

"How are you?" he asked again in the very same tone.

She narrowed her eyes at the man as if to understand what he was aiming at but he smiled in return earning a scowl from her.

"How are you?" he asked again.

"Good" she replied with a single word.

"You are not going to ask me?" He tried to strike a conversation with her.

"Why would I? Aren't you fine? Let's not waste our time on pleasantries "

"What if I am not fine?" He rebuked.

She eyed him from up to down before saying," you're right something is not right with you?"

Zhenyi's answer made him somewhat curious and self-conscious as he cautiously asked" umm what?"

"Oh! you haven't noticed that you forget your brain cells home," she snorted at him in hopes that he would drop his polite facade before her.

"You-you are crazy!" Long Jie couldn't help but groan.
