The Death of a Slave

For as vast as the sea is, just as dark as its depth are, they hold a mysterious hatred for life. For their waters hold the maddening roars of a beast, along with its servants! As that cold dark reaches the surfaces, the cultist of the world gathers to usher in their "twilight"! For in their "twilight" he waits… for in that twisted "twilight" he watches!!!!!!!

→→→→→→→→→→→→→ Excerpt from a message found in a bottle found along the shores of Eversong woods

As Lanthios' opponent charged at him headfirst, Lanthios let loose the fire he conjured from his hands! But while its face burned the monster ignored the blistering heat on his scaly flesh!

With raging eyes and sharpened teeth, the murloc roared as he stabbed his blades forward! Parrying the murloc weak swordsmen ship, Lanthios chopped at the side of the murloc causing the burning ax to dig deeper into its scales!

Rightfully pissed, the murloc screamed as it turned to slice at Lanthios, only to find empty air! For Lanthios drew back the second he landed his first blow.

With a shaky hand Lanthios now knew he was outmatched in terms of strength! For that parried attack, gave him the realization that with damaged weapons, any direct block would really snap them in two!

Annoyed seeing his prey flee! The murloc roared causing the glowing crystals on his back to glow a hideous green! With bloodshot eyes, the murloc screamed as its blood became its fuel for power!

With scales popping he grew bigger! With scales popping his blood ran rampant in its body as it poured out its eyes and mouth! Lanthios watched as new muscle covered the wound, he inflicted on the murloc!

With pity eyes Lanthios thought to himself:

{this poor creature doesn't even know it's draining its own life! I fear that the only thing driving this murloc is just instinct now!}

With burning fire and horrid breath, the murloc charge again! Though strong, it was slow. Though strong, it was stupid! Lost in an array of pain and twisted magic, Lanthios dodged and kept dodging as he waited for his chance! As the creature tired, for Lanthios no longer considered this thing a murloc but an abomination made by the Elfs!

As the creatures slowed, Lanthios pleaded with the spirits to hear his call, as he rained down lighting from his hands! The creature squealed and screamed as it fell to its knees!

While its muscles spasmed and blistered! Seeing the creature on its last legs, Lanthios walked up to it to behead it with his axe, to the very much bord Azael, to the contrast of Layla's excited expression!

But as Lanthios brought down his axes, he didn't see the murloc hidden smirk as he suddenly turned and sliced through both axes and cut into the side of Lanthios!

While bleeding and drawing back, Lanthios watched as the lighting around him shocked the creature! Unfortunately, the shock from his shield was far too weak to stop the creature now!

Ignoring the shock, the monster tasted fresh blood, Lanthios blood, as the blood called to the monster his eyes diluted! with toss, it threw away its weapons as it reached out to grab hold of Lanthios to drain him of his blood! Not to feed the ever-hungry crystals on its back, No! but rather for him to taste the flesh of his foe!

But as its sharpened teeth came to a close! A hammer made of light shined through the clouds and slammed onto the head of the creature!

With bright golden eyes Lanthios reached for the broken piece of his axe and jabbed it into the eye of the creature! As blood gushed from its eye socket, Lanthios hurriedly picked up the creature's weapons and sliced the creature's hands clean off! Reeling back screaming, Lanthios took this chance and with one turn, slid the creature's throat!

However even with its throat slit the creature didn't fall, nor did it rain blood like Lanthios expected it would! Instead, to Lanthios horror, he watched as the crystals on the creature's back drained so much blood, that the once murloc now looked like a dried-up grape! Forever frozen on his knees looking up into the sky.

Azael, seeing the dead murloc scoffed and walked away, while Layla rushed down the hole to administer what first aid, she could. Thankfully the wound wasn't too deep, as she cauterized the wound with her fire as carefully as she could. Seeing he was safe for now she hugged him and spoke:

[starting tomorrow you are going to learn how to use healing magic!]

Nodding in agreement Lanthios thanked his lucky stars that the earth that surrounded his axe was the only thing that saved his life as he noticed it slowed down the murloc swing just enough. As he laid there reflecting, Layal looked around before asked:

[so… Did your instincts try to take over?]

After mulling over what to say Lanthios replied:

{No! Surprisingly it didn't rear its ugly head this time… I guess it's because I was only running around for a while till that "thing" got tired.}

{anyway, I think it's time we get out of this dirty hole… I would rather not look at that thing again for a while!} continued Lanthios

[you know he just going to get harder on you now… right] replied Layla with much worry

{I know, he was especially upset that I used holy magic in the fight rather than stick to shamanism] replied Lanthios

[Wait… YA! When did you learn that! I didn't think Jesthenis had taught you light magic yet.] replied Layla

{Ha! Well wouldn't you like to know} replied Lanthios all smugly

[hey! You shouldn't look so smug! Instead of learning attack magic you should have learned how to heal yourself!] replied Layla arguing back

{if I hadn't learned it, I think I would have probably died there when the murloc grabbed me!} argued back Lanthios

As the kids were busy consoling each other, Azael met with that annoying young master to discuss the matter of Lanthios training.

[so... It looks like her pet killed it!] said Elebon

[umm... Is that hint of remorse I'm sensing from you Elebon… is the loss of your pet really affecting one such as yourself?] replied Azael mockingly

[Please! As if some disgusting smelly fish would ever mean anything to me! If it was but a means to an end much like you!] replied Elebon

[OH! HO! These are some haughty words for a "young master" such as yourself to be using… Are you threatening me now boy?] replied Azael with a vicious smile

Visible annoyed, Elebon could only swallow his pride for now and replied

[Of course not! You misunderstand me! Or great and powerful Azael, I would never be foolish enough to ever threaten one such as yourself]

Knowing full well that Elebon didn't mean jack shit of what he just said, Azael just shrugged his shoulders and got to the point.

[I need another test subject… the "mut" didn't use his demon heart! Instead, he used that cursed light magic! Bah! What good is light magic! Can it raise the dead in undeath! No! It can only give them the peace of death or in some rare cases bring the dead fully back to life!] said Azael with much vile

Ignoring Azael contempt for light magic Elebon said:

[well, if you want to test his strength then let's use an orc or an ogre this time!]

[umm… I'm afraid that an ogre would be too strong, while an orc would be too stupid] replied Azael after calming down from his rant

[then why not a small earth golem or a Worgan?] replied Elebon

[No! The golem won't work, it's just as stupid as an orc and a murloc combined! As for the Worgan… I believe it might be to cunning at the moment...] replied Azael

[I know! Why not a captured night elf druid! With the proper brainwashing they are smart enough but not too smart and their bear strength would be perfect!] replied Elebon

[umm... Yes, a Druid would do perfectly!] replied Azael as he stared off into the distance
