When Drane Leave the forest he saw a lot of villagers standing outside the forest and looking at him.

Then a man suddenly force his way to get near by Drane.

Then the man hold his two shoulders and shook him a little

"Drane! what are you doing here?!"

His Father. He looks really worried that make Drane felt guilt.

"I was playing outside but a light suddenly appeared in front of me and said to follow it. I followed it inside the forest then I don't know what happened next."

Other villagers heard what he said and turned to look at him.

then one villager spoke to him

"We saw a giant bird like figure in the middle of the forest that's why all of us are here. if that giant bird attack our village we will definitely be doomed!"He looks really afraid. his face was so pale and his hand are trembling.

"Drane, go home for now. We already report this to the guild. They will definitely send some investigator." His father hugged him like trying to make him calm but Drane was not in panic at all.

A size of an Minokawa can't be hide with just trees. He really can't figure out why would that creature appear near in their village.

Drane did not think much of it and just go home after some time and sleep.

On morning afterr they have a breakfast Drane spoke with his parents.

"Father, Mother, I'd like to go to the Maharlica Academy." he said.

His Mother drop the spoon she's holding and his father stare at him with surprised look.

"Son, I'd also like, too. but..." His father hesitated to say that they don't have a money to support him.

"If I rank third in the examination they will provide my daily need and even give me allowance every 30th day."

His father was still hesitating. He never thought that his son would be interested in coming to the Institute.

"...Are you sure?" He asked.

"Yes, Don't worry father I will included in the ranking." he said with a proud look.

"Sigh... looks like you already made a decision. you will rebel if i don't allow you." he look at his son and shake his head. This past few days he saw his son hitting the scarecrow and doing a training using a wooden stick. At first he thought that he was just playing but when the days come he can see the moves of his son looks like he's dancing and the flow of his move was so smooth. 'So thats the reason why he's training his body.'

"Next week will be the start of the Institute. You still have time to prepare and I will ask Mr. Smith if he has a sword that can be use." he said and continue eating. while his mother was still suprise.

"Dear, our child has grown up earlier than we expected." his father chuckled.

"Grown up?! He's just 15 years old!" his mother shout and sigh... she knew that she can't change her son mind.

"Thanks Father, Mother. I will be stronger than I am now when I came back." he proudly state.

after they ate breakfast they were working to a farm when an old man came to them dragging a man that as same as old as him.

"Hey Drane, I heard you're planning to apply in Maharlika Academy. Take Josh with you. This kid might be pain in ass but he can fight." The old man said.

"Shut up old man! I will go if i wanted to-" he didn't even finish his sentence when his old man hit him.

"Stupid brat! If you go there you can eat everything you want!"

"You shut up! i don't want to go!" he still insisted that he don't want to go even though Drane can sense an excitement when he heard the word 'Institute'.

"Good thing, Josh. It will be safer if I have a friend their to come with me." He cut the argument of those two when he said those words.

"See, you will not be a burden!"

"When did I become a burden?!"

"Shut up you brat!"

This father and son duo was still same as before.

Josh was strong swordsman his knowledge are vast when it comes to sword fight. But when his father died by the demons, he seek revenge and kill all the demons he face and later entitled as a 'sword king' those who are entitled with 'kings' are those being who can save the humanity

But in the brink of destruction a civil war broke out and 3 out of 10 kings died and 4 of conquerors also perish.

A lot of warriors, Wizard and hunters also perish with them.

and conquerors, the one who can stand toe to toe with a king their number was as same as the king. I heard that 3 conquerors also perish with the kings. Sitan take advantage of what happened and launch an all out attack to the Maharlika City, the Capital of Maharlika continent,and won.

He didn't know if Josh died their or he escaped.

'If not for their foolishness, they can win on the war.' He can't help but to sigh.

With this he can befriend with one of the future 'Kings'

"Josh, how's your sword training?"

Josh looks surprised. He never practiced near around the village because he will look cool if they thought that he was weak then he will beat their asses and laugh triumphant.

"H-how did you know that I'm a sword wielder?

'does he have to act like that?'

"I saw you in the forest, I am picking a herb and and fruits when I saw you, you're hitting the tree trunk using a wooden sword so I thought you're practicing sword, Am I wrong?" he act innocent.

Josh can't find a hint of lie on him.

'Maybe I didn't notice him.'

"No, I'm really a swordsman!" He puff his chest and proudly exclaimed.

Drane walk near to him and whisper

"Tonight I will hunt monster in the forest as a practice, wanna come?"

josh look at Drane with astonishment. he never thought that he's hunting all by himself.

'sounds fun.'

"Yeah, bring it on!"

At night they decided to meet at the forest.

Josh was wearing his usual shirt but the difference is there's a sword hanging on his waist.

"Drane, what monster are we going to hunt?"

"You seems excited, hows your stats?"

"Ow, Here." Josh bragged his stats.

"Sure, but you need to promise that no one will ever know this. I will show you as a sign of our being brothers." Then Drane show him his stats.

"T-this..."Josh can't utter a word. he thought that he was much stronger than Drane that's why he proudly show him his stats.

"You're way stronger than I am!" He exclaimed, there's a hint of jealousy and awe in his word.

'If not for not having enough prey, I would be much stronger.'

because of the presence of Minokawa the monster nearby fled and he had to search to other side of the forest.

"Let's hunt."

"Yes!" Josh answer with vigor.

They went to the deep part of the forest. So to avoid incidents Drane ask Josh to continuously use his clairvoyance.

"Drane, i can see and enemy ahead but I can't figure out what's the type of monster it is." Josh whisper.

"Josh, hide in that tree, when I signal you, attack, get it?"

"What? We don't even know what we're facing, it's safer to look first and wait until my clairvoyance can detect its whole presence." He said, its suicide to attack the enemy if you don't even know what your enemy is.

"No worries, I know what's coming, just do what I say." he still persist.

"Ahh, just don't blame me if you die." he grumbled and went to the tree to hide.

'wakwak'

A bird like animal that snatch humans at night and as a prey. it's called wakwak because of the sounds it make. it can only make a sound wak-wak

'This bastard, I never though that there's a wakwak here. well what ever.'

Drane hold his sword, it's the sword that his father gave.

The wakwak notice him and already flying to his position. the sound of wakwak rang through his ear.

because his enemy is flying he have to mobilize its movements and to do that he need to tear its wing.

Drane run through trees, with enough strength and agility he can climb trees without using his hands.

The wakwak followed him, this monster really think that they can prey any humans.

Drane continue to run until he reach the top, then jump.

the wakwak surprised because he saw that the one it's following suddenly fall down.

Drane cut one of its wing and fell with it.

"NOW!!"

it they let the wakwak lick it wound, it will regenerate.

The hiding Josh immediately sprung and cut its body into half.

the wakwak was still alive but then, Drane put an end to its struggle.

he help Drane to stand up and then the corpse suddenly vanish.

"Where did the corpse go??!"

"With me, don't ask anymore. we will split the spoil equally."

Josh did not ask anymore.

They proceed their hunt and killed every monster they encountered

They continue to hunt every night until the day they have to go to the Maharlika City to enroll to institute.
