Wandering Sorcery 4: Odyssey To Realms

--As Sato gradually blinked his eyes open, the soft murmur of voices drifted into his awareness, pulling him from the depths of sleep. With a languid stretch, he lifted his hands to his face, feeling the warmth of his own skin beneath his fingertips. Sitting up,

he surveyed his surroundings and recognized the familiar interior of a tent. A surge of purpose stirred within him as he remembered their mission: to venture into foreign lands in search of a healer. It was a journey fraught with uncertainty and promise, a quest upon which their hopes and futures hinged.

He rises to his feet and calls out,"Goodmorning." "Good morning!" Ryuko responds as Kiriro beams.

"I've prepared breakfast," Kiriro announces, "and your dad, Osuke, went to hunt boars for food, He also gathered sticks for the fire."

Ryuko nods as he sharpens his sword. "I heard your dad was part of a guild's party?"

Kiriro scratches his head, then leans in eagerly. "Really? That explains his expertise."

"That's why his techniques seem so much stronger," Ryuko adds, "despite his limited mana."

Suddenly, Sato shouts, "Goblin! Goblin!" A fierce wind tousles Ryuko's hair and Sato's robe.

"Lightning Technique: Indra's Arrow!" Kiriro commands, unleashing a massive bolt of lightning. Coats billow as the purple arrow pierces through the goblins, reducing them to ashes.

As Kiriro stands in an arrow stance form, his eyes sparkles and he exclaims, "Yes! It worked!" Kiriro celebrates, jumping around in excitement.

12 Years After The Rebirth Of a Mirage Mage Haruki Sato Somewhere Near Diàn-guó Village, Nation Of Goryeo.

Osuke made a dramatic entrance, accompanied by a levitating boar and wielding two stacked sticks with an air of authority. "What're you up to, boys? I heard quite the commotion while I was out, so I hurried back," he announced. Sato eagerly burst out, "Dad! Dad! Kiriro just obliterated 3 goblins with a single move!! It was a colossal lightning bolt!" Sato mimicked a thunderous roar, "AND THEN" *Bvoom!* Sato echoed an explosive blast, "IT WAS EPIC AND HE EVE--" Kiriro promptly silenced him with a firm hand over his mouth, admonishing, "Hey! Shut it! Are you really going to spill the beans like that? In the worst way possible..?" Sato's father intervened, his voice tinged with concern, "Hey, you shouldn't wield such dangerous spells recklessly; you never know who might get hurt." Kiriro nodded solemnly, murmuring in agreement, "mhm," before his father saying, "and get ready because we're embarking for Diàn-guó. We'll set off after we've had our meal; we can hitch a ride on a cart once we've passed through Xingqiu village." Ryuko returned, sword glistening at his back, questioning, "Diàn-guó?"

Kiriro's eyes widened in awe, "Diàn-guó?! Isn't that the most prestigious nation!? They boast the highest number of mages!!! That's where my father taught me our clan's technique, 'Indra's Arrow.' It's a legacy passed down from my grandfather to my father and then to me. It's said that the gods bestowed this technique upon our clan to safeguard our beloved nation. And when an inherited technique transcends its limits, it reveals its ultimate form. There are only 4 individuals who have pushed their inherited techniques to such heights: The Greater Lord Kusanali, who perished in the war against the great sages; Flamme The Slayer, who triumphed over Mordrakar The 9th Sage Of Destruction; General Yuta Matsumoto; and Lyrastra The Luminous. They are the ones who have surpassed the boundaries of their inherited techniques." Sato's eyes glimmered with wonder, "More! Tell me more!!" Sato's father chuckled, "Alright, enough with the tales; let's not keep the food waiting, boys!"

Kiriro's eyes widened with delight as he exclaimed, "Wow! That aroma is absolutely tantalizing, Uncle Osuke! What delightful dish awaits us?"

Sato's jaw dropped in astonishment, muttering, (Uncle Osuke?! No way!) However, before he could protest "Unc?-", Osuke proudly announced, "Steamed veggies with soup! My mother was quite the chef, so I thought I'd whip up something special, you know!" Ryuko's eyes gleamed with anticipation as he savored the fragrance, while Kiriro eagerly inhaled the mouthwatering scent. Suddenly, a wave of familiarity washed over Sato as he detected the unmistakable aroma of his mother's cooking. With a sudden realization, he knew it was his grandmother's cherished recipe, passed down through generations. "Mmm! Absolutely Delicious!" he couldn't help but exclaim.

Kiriro's request for seconds was met with a warm grin from Sato's father, who promptly replenished his bowl. After thoroughly enjoying their meal, Ryuko suggested they press on. "We should continue our journey, or we might find ourselves short of carts on the way to Diàn Guó," he urged. As Osuke gathered their belongings, he concurred, "Alright, everyone, gear up, we're departing immediately!" Meanwhile, Kiriro continued to practice his magic, effortlessly levitating his book with a mischievous grin.

As Sato packed his belongings, he couldn't resist the urge to sneak a peek into the ancient tome titled Grand Grimiore: Divinity Of Magic. His heart raced with excitement as he flipped through pages detailing intricate water manipulation techniques. Hastily closing the book upon hearing his father's call, he hastily replied, "Nothing, just finishing up!" Safely stowing the book in his bag, he joined the group, encouraged by Ryuko's reassuring pat on the back.

"Let's get going," Ryuko declared, and with a nod from Sato, they embarked on their journey towards the village where transportation to Diàn Guó awaited.

While Sato immersed himself in the pages of the Grand Grimiore, his hands mimicked the intricate gestures described within. Ryuko's confident stride and commanding demeanor made him seem like the leader, with his hand casually resting on his head. Meanwhile, Kiriro, embodying the nerdy archetype, couldn't help but interject with a tired inquiry, "Are we there yet..?" Sato's father responded with boundless energy, "Nope! But I'm sure we're almost there!"

Their journey continued until they finally reached their destination, where they spotted only one cart left. Hastily boarding, they settled in, with Osuke taking the reins at the front.

After settling into the cart, Kiriro couldn't contain his relief.

"Argh, finally!!"

he exclaimed, before promptly laying down to relax. Meanwhile, Ryuko took charge of organizing their bags, deftly arranging their belongings. With a sense of ease, he then settled back, pulling up his hood for added comfort. Sato, on the other hand, remained immersed in the pages of the Grand Grimiore, eager to absorb more knowledge. He delved deeper into the text, his focus unwavering as he continued to read.

Sato: (Hm, hand gestures??! Is this some anime-inspired magic? It feels like we're straight out of a TV show! With that dungeon battle coming up next week, I really need to upgrade my skills. My magic feels a bit rusty, and I'm not the best in team fights. And don't even get me started on my defense technique – focusing all my mana on one spot to heal is just too much to handle! Ugh! Okay, I'll tackle one thing at a time.)

As Sato contemplates, Kiriro suddenly lets out a loud snore, prompting Sato to chuckle as Kiriro covers his face with his hood.

Sato: (Damn, Kiriro is so loud..)

Just then, Osuke's excited voice breaks the silence.

Osuke: "Look! That's Diàn Guó!"

Kiriro jolts awake, almost losing his balance.

Kiriro: "Where! Where!"

Lights illuminate the surroundings as they behold the beauty of the floating lanterns in the city-like village. Sato's eyes widen with amazement.

Sato: "Diàn-Guó."
