Progenitor of the New World - 2

"Hmm? Are you a new recruit?" Mom asks the guard, although I still don't understand what's going on.

"U-Uh, yes. How are you knowledgeable about that?"

Mom sighs slightly and takes out something from her side purse.

"Here, go show it to one of your seniors and tell them that I am in a hurry."

"Okay. Please excuse me for a moment." The guard says as he gestures one of the other guards to halt us for the time being.

Hmm, maybe they are all new recruits if I apply mom's logic…hmm.

"It's been three years since I last visited this place…Brings back memories." Mom walks around while looking at the red flags, pinned on the top of the walls.

'It's probably the flag of the one who rules over the area like we had on Earth, the most influential party around the region, when in the election, would take the advertisement to an entirely different level.'

"Well, whatever it may be, I will see it for myself." I speak to myself, almost inaudible.

The guard entered the main office built inside the walls, attached to them real close.

"How many times have I told you to get the things done on time?!"

"Yes, We have got it covered, sir."

"But, we don't have methods regarding-"

"I would refer you to the royalty section for further doubts related to this."

As he entered the room, all the different voices, some low, some high pitched, some calm, some angry, some frustrated, some annoyed, voices echoed all around him.

He walked towards one of them, a middle-aged man with a sharp mustache and light brown beard. The people inside the room had no dress code since they were all wearing different and random outfits unlike the soldiers who were dressed formally in their brown-red attire.

"No, I don't know anything about that and I am not going to take any responsibility for it."

"No, No!! You listen to me. I am not your god-damn servant, so mind that language of yours."

The soldier could help but interrupt the man since he knew that this would go longer if left as it is.

"Sir, actually, I-"

"You son of a- Yes I did, you f*king idiot, that's what you are. This isn't some kind of customer care support for your lazy asses to look forward to every single time."

"Yeah, hell with that. Go wherever you want, you mother-"

"D-Demille!!" The guard shouted loudly which resulted in the entire office to stop for a moment.

The old man instantly slammed the contact device onto the wooden table as he looked at the batch of the guard, with the name, 'Kirishima Obata', on it as he swelled up his nerves displaying a short term of never-ending rage.

"Hey, you brat! Did you just call me by my name?!"

'Ah, sh*t, I went and did it again…This old man's going to burn me, just with those stares…N-No, I should focus on being more relevant to my work, methods and all comes after this.' Kirishima thought.

"S-Sir, I apologize for my mis-"

"You dare to speak to me like that, you bi*ch!"

'Ouch, he should stop swearing so much…all the workload has been getting over his head these days.' Kirishima thought while shielding himself from all the criticizing statements.

"Please, listen to me sir! It's imp-"

"Shut the hell up, do I even need to teach you the basic code of conduct towards your senior?! You think, I am sitting here idly waiting for immature seedlings like you to disrespect me? Such behavior won't be tolerated."

'Ugh, this guy's going to blabber for the next few hours if I don't do anything…There won't be any point in intruding him from the very start then.'

After having a look at both, Kirishima and Demille, all the other workers continued with their jobs as if it was a natural/usual occurrence, maybe it was, who knows.

"Seriously!" The old man gave a desperate stare to all those present in the room as he continued, "You people think that I am just an old geezer who's spouting nonsense but be in my shoes and you will understand the responsibilities and the bloody annoyance that's over my head like a bounty!" and then a moment of silence.

"A-Actually, Sir…Please calm down. I apologize for my misbehavior but there's something I need to ask of you urgently." Kirishima tried to convince him in a more subtle tone.

"Tsk…Make it quick…" Demille replied.

With a sigh of relief, Kirishima continued, "Actually sir, we have got two visitors on our main gate who don't have the passes-"

"Don't let them in…It's widely known that to enter the region under Vitalis Kingdom's jurisdiction, you need to follow the proper protocols." Demille said.

"Sir, I am aware of that…but the lady insisted me to show this to you." He said as he opened his pouch and took out a diamond-shaped batch, handing it to the old man.

"Huh?…Hmm…Where have I seen this?" Demille answered in a stiff voice while attempting to remember the thing.

It was a pure black metal-plated batch with a shining-blue color snowflake engraved over it.

All of a sudden, Demille started shaking as his eyes popped out and his face started sweating upwards.

Puzzled, Kirishima asked, "Is there some problem, sir?"

"E-E-E-E-Everyone…she has arrived…!!" Demille said as the intensity of this quavering increased as the time passed by.

"Eh? What do you mean?" One of the co-worker asked while fingering his ears as if it's something else.

"T-The ICE SAGE has arrived on our doors!!!" Suddenly, every single one of the workers turned their heads towards with wide eyes…

"Haha…stop kidding…ha…ha…" One of them said but soon stopped as he got the look on his face which was more genuine than his entire life.

"I-I can't be mistaken…see this…It's the Royal Insignia! Only one entity in this world has the authority to wield this signature…", As he gulped down together with everyone else, he continued, "…O-One of the Progenitors of the New World is right behind this giant wall!"
