CH 2- Past

Ch 2

'Due to my achievements, I was hailed as a prodigy in the

orphanage, the authority was really head over heels to have created a product

like me as I was the first of my kind and the higher ups of the family that

kept a eye on the one of many orphanages- when informed about me was really

licking their lips and praising their good fortune and heavily invested on the

orphanage and on me but to their misery, I was the first and the final of my

kind and even after many trails and error they were unable to produce someone

like me or even close to me, they invested in different styles of teaching,

psychologically changing the children, and even going as far as making them go

through the same situation as me but at last everything failed and the

authority that were trying to recreate someone like me or close to me failed,

and they either committed suicide or gave up, after seeing the result of the

children they had experimented on as well as facing the uninterested gaze of

the higher ups.'

I continued walking and looking around for who knows how

long but finally I was able to hear a water body that indicated it to be on the

far left of where I was at the moment. I started going towards there while

watching my steps, to not fall or face any unknown trap, and finally I reach

near the water body. To my dismay, I was on an higher altitude and the water

body was below mentioned, a narrow water stream with what seemed swift if I

must term it in simple words.

'For me, this was extremely amusing, not because they

thought of me to be prodigy but because they thought of me as someone that they

can create just by their whim and fancy, i could admit that they were people

that even the world government has to reconsider before poking their nose in

their affairs but they were far from what they thought themselves to be - to be

able to create. They didn't create me, not even close, they only found me and

gave me favourable conditions for me to grow into who I am or I was.'

I though, while considering my heart of jumping inside the

water, and I complied with my brain by following the stream from the top

instead of jumping inside because, one my body will be crushed as I am unsure

of the depth of the water body and second, I would not be completely fine and I

would take some injury or even face death or even bad a permanent damage to my

body, I am unsure - if I would be able to survive with this body, if it was me

I would still have considered it but I am unsure of my current body.

'But life didn't stop for me over there, from the orphanage,

I got sent to a school, where I got trained to do a job of a butler and when I

was old enough, I was sent to serve my country- but that was only a pretext

given by the higher ups so that, I could be trained by the best of the best in

the arms of fighting and survival. In all of them, i excelled as well by either

practising it to be the best or sabotaging others for me to win. Due to this,

my colleagues and acquaintances hated me and choose to maintain a distance from

me, but the government officials were really proud of me and were expecting me

to join the army permanently and serve the country. As there are a lot of

benefits to join the army, and as per my qualifications and achievements, I

would be no less than a officer or even a very high ranking individual that

would have a lot of subordinates under him to do his work, and would not need

to be worried unless there is a crisis like war. That is highly unlikely to

happen.'

After following the stream from the higher altitude, I saw a

root of a tree going down the altitude from the cliff near the water source. So

I decided to take the help of the root by grasping it tightly with my hands and

feet and slowly going down. I was not scared of the root breaking because it

felt really strong and was broader than my thigh, I was not surprised by the

size of the root because the tree is gigantic that can even block the sun

light.

'I returned from the army as a ripe fruit ready to be

harvested, but in my case - ready to be used for their work. To see my loyalty,

at first they assigned me with tasks that were undeserving for someone of my calibre,

tasks like working as a security guard, a driver for important people, showing

the guests around the mansion, delivering items, helping in carrying bags when

they went for trips around the world.

But I also had to do works like, faking an accident to

injure or even kill the one I was asked by my employer, intimidating the guests

so they don't make any irrational moves in the pretexts of showing around the

house, working as a decoy to make others think that I have the documents while

someone else is taking the documents to the person, having a watch over

everyone and defend my employer on the trip - that is if I felt danger to

evacuate them and kill anyone and do anything necessary to protect them and

they would take over the legal matters. But I did many other things as well to

gain their recognition and it was worth it as I was heavily trusted and

anything I desired would be given to me until and unless those desires got in

their way.

After reaching the ground, I went near the stream, which was

almost translucent due to its purity and cleanliness.

Unlike my place, where even bottle water contained some

micro plastic - when consumed for a long time period can cause health

complications.

I first had a clear look at myself, my black hair was fairly

long but right now it had some mud, my face was fairly clean and feminine - yet

to have facial hair, my body was thin and looked malnourished that has been

starving for a long time now, my hands looked like it can break like a twig and

my legs lacked vaguer and looked like I was suffering from polio - disease that

cause the legs to be useless, it was a hyperbole but not too far fetched. To

some it all up, i had to start from the first step again to return to my

previous state but as I had already gone through intense training throughout my

life, it would be far easier than before.

'But that's not my worry now, I have to look for a

settlement to gain more information of where I am right now on Earth or even if

I am on Earth, because the time I have been walking around, I saw a lot of

insects species that were unknown to me and I had no knowledge about, which was

surprising as I was well educated in Biology and Geography but this types of

tree species and insects were seen by me for the time. But I would not believe

myself to be all knowing so I could not put my finger on the though that I was

not on Earth but there was very big question and that was - What happened to my

body? and Whose body am I inhibiting?.'

After drinking as much water as possible to fill up my belly

and cleaning myself from the mud I started walking towards the flow of the

stream on the river bank. 

'Even if I believe I am on Earth, How did I body get swapped

by that of a child. That's impossible in my world. At least as far as I know of

the technological developments. I kept a track of all the world news and also

information that the new station would not publish to the common people. But

they were far from this kind of miracle if I must say.'

I kept walking for an indefinite time, I do not have any

idea for how long I must have walked for as the sun was over my head when I

started walking and it seemed like it's about to set, and the night will fall.

'There are various ways to know the direct and time by

looking at the sky, by using the astral bodies to predict the time and place

but to figure it out I must know where I am and if I am even on Earth or all my

prediction would be use-'

I stopped thinking, when I saw a monster with humanoid

characteristic trying to catch a fish from the stream with a wooden spear.

'The reason why I called it a 'Monster' is because, it's

complexion was green in dark colour, it's height was around 3-3'5 feet tall,

that would be a size of a primate or even a Cro-Magnon that was the ancestors

of the modern human, it has long pointy ears and a sharp nose, it's eyes are

brown in colour, and it has sharp finger nails.'

'If I have to profile the monster then it would go as-

around 3'5 feet tall, green in colour, has a spear in hand, hasn't noticed me,

might be hostile in nature, now that I think about it, it looks like a goblin,

which concludes that I might really not be on Earth, as Goblins did not exist

on Earth and I have read about them on my free time as I was mostly uninvolved

with my peers so I focused on reading science and when I got bored, I would

freshen up to read fictions. It was really interesting to know about peoples

imagination and their fantasy, but I would never in my wildest dream imagine of

encountering an actual Goblin.'

'The monster that I recognise as a Goblin

has still not noticed me because I was keeping a watch over

my steps to not attract animals. And luckily for me the goblin was busy

catching fishes so it has yet to notice me but I can't be sure and it can just

be a trick to lure me out and kill me. So I have to be careful.'

'I carefully kept watch over the goblin, it continued to

hunt fishes, it was not that good at speaking fishes but he would catch 1-2/10 fishes

which was not good but decent.' Thinking this, I saw the goblin finally

stopping and looking at.....
