Phikul was cursed with the weird ability. For each word she pronounced, a golden medlar would crawl up from her throat, tearing her from the inside. Thus, she refused to speak. After fifteen years of being locked away, she was freed. Knowing nothing of the outside world, Phikul had to learn how to survive without speaking a single word. But, she found her perfect companion who could hear her thought.
