In the shade of ignorance, we let our greed, lusts, and arrogance grow deep in us to the extent where we are left with anything but "HUMANITY". At some point in life, one or the other person trades his humanity for the hidden darkness that resides within, naming it under the phrases of " poverty, need, helplessness" which later turns into his obsession that turns into addiction, and the cycle continues to a point where trading humanity becomes an act of worship, and the trader himself falls under the category of a loyal devotee of immorality.
