The end of a Generation

Patz and Waltin short POV

[my king! The enemy zeppelin has begun a return fire at our home! But for some reason after their first few volleys, they seem to be fleeing the battlefield!] says a random hobgoblin as the cave shakes and breaks as the steel star lands hit after hit!

As the light began to flicker throughout the base, king Patz yelled:

[How dares those humans! Do they think that they can just come to our home, burn our food and attack us then just waltz out of here like nothing happened!]

[Do they seriously believe that we are of no threat to them! Then I will just have to open their eyes! I want all our zeppelins in the air now!] continued Patz

[Ha! YA! Are we going to give chase to those despicable humans?] ask a random hobgoblin

[No! We're going straight to the source! They wish to attack our home then they should be prepared for the same!] said Patz

Few moments before the attack on the goblins

[Um... sir! There is movement coming from the mountain in front of us!] said the navigator

[Oh! Really! Did you find those thieving creatures that stole my goods] ask Waltin

[No! Sir! But the mountain is undoing itself like a flower…. Sir! Emergency income fire! All hand brace for impact!] yelled the navigator

As the steel star shakes, while its exterior explodes, form each hit she takes, Waltin yells:

[What is going on! Who dares attack us for no reason, we just got here!]

[Sir, it appears to be… goblins! We're under attack by a nest of goblins!] yelled the navigator

[Goblins? Since when were they so advanced, they could use our own weapons against us?] ask Vycent

[That Doesn't matter right now, what does, is that we return fire and get the hell out of here! I refuse to believe this dumb pest can chase us on foot!] said Waltin as he rains fire onto the cave, causing loose rock to fall onto important power nods

As Waltin fled he received a transmission call, confused he decided to patch them through, to hear what they had to say

[you scummy human thinks you can get away after what you did!] yelled Patz over the comms

[we are only defending ourselves! we don't have any idea why you are attacking us] replied Waltin

[Liars! You humans never tell the truth! Fine then! Since you won't admit your wrongs! Then war it shall be!]

Waltin, confused on what the hell was happening, got the shock of his life as he witnessed the fog lift from the mountain, as dozens of zeppelins rose into the sky with countless fighters! The battle that ensnared all of Bredale and it inhabits of settlements would be later named the war of Patz, with Patz name meaning the green death

Goblins in the base POV

As the nurse Goblin got back to work, she was checking on the babies, when she felt the sudden shock of the cave shaking! As the cave was shaking the light above her head flickered, while others completely died! Through the crying babies she ran in between all the rows of babies making sure all of them were safe.

Until she reached a part of the nursery that was in complete darkness! She could see nothing, but she could hear!

{crunch… crunch…}

[What is making that noise?] she thought

While trying to drown out the sounds of crying children, she listens closely:

{crunch… crunch…CRUNCH!}

Scared and worried she approached the sound, thinking that maybe one of the babies got into trouble, but when she was just a few feet away. A light bulb just above happened to flicker on and off just in that moment! Petrified, the goblin screamed at the top of her lungs as she saw a monster tearing the throat out of a baby goblin, while it watched her!

With a loud roar, the monster gave chase as the goblin fled with all her might to go get help! As she passed the crying babies, the flickering of the lights, she made it to the guards only to be heartbroken! For the guards were already dead! Along with her best friend! Their blood painted on all over the walls, told her all she needed to know that they didn't die a nice death!

Panicking, she ran past their bodies in a hopeful escape, only to be stopped by another monster as it came between her and the way out! Not able to continue running, she slowly turned around to see a metal monster slowly walk up to her as he slid the throats of all the babies along the way! With one last scream, her brain matter flew in every direction.

Hours later

[whaaat Happened here!] yelled the prince

[my prince… Please calm down. We are investigating the situation as we speak!] said one of his bodyguards

[You're telling me to calm down! My little brother and sister are dead! Along with every other newborn child!]

[Prince Ilzec! Please! Let us do this… our own children are among the dead...] replied his guard

[Fine but I want a full detailed report in an hour! Also notify the trolls! If our children were attacked, then there could be next!] yelled the prince only to be proven right a few moments later as another goblin came to report:

[sir! The trolls are about to revolt! They say someone killed all their children in their nursery!]

[damnit! It got to be those vile humans! Tell every guard to be on the lookout! I want double no triple shifts! Na! Fuck that! Tell everyone to search high and low. I want this intruder found! Triple the reward if you can give them to me alive!] said prince Ilzec

[Yessss! sir!] replied the goblin as he ran

As the prince was fuming in rage, the light above him flickered until they turned off for good as the emergency lights turned on. Then a second later did they hear, an explosion come from somewhere in the base!

[The generators!] The prince yelled

But that wasn't the worst of it for as the sounds of the explosion died down, did he hear the roars of monsters and spoke

[I know that roar! That's form test subject 6! Who let out the chimeras!] said the prince

[what happened to the chief alchemist Gig!] continued the prince

[I don't know for sure but I'm getting reports of monster sighting throughout the base, last seen location… the day care!] reported a random goblin

[Guards quickly with me! We are going to the daycare! We must protect the last of the new generation!] yelled Ilzec

Time prior to generator explosion

[Tinker! get that generator up!] yelled the boss

[I'm trying! But she took a nasty hit!] replied tinker

But as Tinker got to work, he heard banging along with screams of his fellow workers, worried he stopped his work and went to go check on his friends, only to see blood traces and no bodies… visibly freaked out, Tinker called his boss, only to not receive a response.

With only static over his comms, he went back to the generator to pack up! When he saw a giant crowned monster charging right at the generator! With the main generator destroyed it caused a chain reaction that blew up the entire unit!

While goblins burn, and scream, Tinker tumbled around by the force of the explosion! As he woke up to the sight of complete pandemonium as dozens of monsters ran through the complex killing everything in sight! As he turned to flee, he found a tail through stomach! As he stared at the tall lady before him, his heart stopped beating.

Alchemist Gig short POV

As Gig studied his blueprints to make better, stronger chimeras, he heard low hissing sounds, as well as light scraping noise around his tubes. Annoyed that some goblin must be messing with his things, Gig yelled

[leave now! Can't you see I'm in the middle of a breakthrough!]

But not only did his words go unheard or responded, but the noises around him also only increased in abundance till one of his many tubes shattered! Pissed that his work is being disturbed, Gig rose from his ivory chair with his fancy glowing maces to beat some sense into whoever is messing with his things!

But as he looked around, he found nothing… confused he looked at the water mess before his feet in anger and yelled:

[Clean crew! Get in here now!]

Only for more silences… with anger veins bulging, Gig raced to his crew quarters only to be stunned by silence! As he looks at the bloody mess his crew were in! With guts and limbs plastered all over the place, did Gig realized the trouble he was actually in!

Racing to his lab's armory he passed the chimeras cell only to see a monster breaking the door seals! As the chimeras roars with their newfound freedom did Gig say:

[may God have mercy on our souls]

Realizing that he was most likely going to die here today he needed to at least make sure his research would live on! So, he races back into his lab and starts transferring every ounce of data he had to a colleague he knew at another goblin base! As the data was in transfer, he heard banging against his office door! Knowing what was on the other side he quickly grabbed his gun, he knew it was not going to be enough for what was just on the other side, but there was nothing else he could do!

As he waited, he heard the screams of other assistants he had, as they came back from their breaks or swapping shifts. He held his hands to his ears as he heard them begging to get inside! But they ultimately met with a gruesome end. As blood oozed at the bottom of his door, as the emergence dim light came on, did he mentally prepare himself, for with a bang, he said

[Hi experiment 6!]

Prince Ilzec POV

The prince busted the door open leading into the child day care center; he was met with the dim light that illuminated the rooms. As he cautiously proceeded forward with his team, did he realize he was too late! For, Room by room, hallway by hallway were lettered with the bodies of children fleeing for their lives with their caregivers! As they climbed over makeshift barricades with bloody feet. Did they arrive at the last room!

Cautiously they approach the silent open door that leads into darkness, passing bloody prints and discarded limbs along the way, fearing the worse they open the door to see a child leave their hiding places and rush to them! But as the child ran a tail priced his chest and dragged him back into the darkness of the room! All while screaming

[save me! Save me!]

Totally enraged, the prince opened fire along with his men into the darkness ahead!
