20 the twentieth piece of the broken cage: giggles is a nickname

It wasn't often that he got to see them cuddle with each other on the sofa and think about the way to fix the problems...fix the problems that had nothing to do with them.

the rain was hitting the window as the lonely, dying drops wiped the snow away. Clark wanted to look forward to seeing the smiling face of the sun again. feel it's comfortable, friendly warmth against his scarred and bloody skin. he wanted to be able to jump into deep blue water and swim into the ocean...

he wanted to be able to look into William's orbs and drown into his eyes that made him sleepy. he wanted to see him and don't feel hatred but love.

the same love he used to feel with all of his heart whenever his gaze fell over his comforting presence. Clark hated to admit it but he missed the sensation Of his soft fingers as he ran them through his back. the way Will used to smile when he entered the room. or when he would massage his scalp, rub his temples in those nights when he had his headaches even though Will was the one in need of comfort.

Clark shook his head. after Will's betrayal, he had a hard time looking into anything blue. every time he looked at the blue sky his heart would skip a beat.

William took away his only sense of freedom...the ocean.

Clark used to live near the shore that was next to the ocean where no one came by. it was just him and his water. he used to sleep with the sound of the waves as his long lost lullaby. he grew up with the ocean.

and William took it away...

when he walked next to the Queen, Clark could feel his heart crack a little more with every single step he took away from him.

was it bad that he would still rip the already shattered world apart if anyone dared to lay a finger on him?

Diana pushed Tia away with all of her strength but the girl only buried her blond head in the crook of her shoulder.

" I don't want to leave...i.I just...I have to...Oh, D forgive me..."

Diana rolled her eyes as rubbed Tia's back with her left hand.

Clark had mentioned that it was no longer safe for Julia and Tia to stay in New York that was why he had planned to get them to the furthest country. Tia had protest heavily against his decision but a glare and a yell from Jody had her speechless. Ti was still struggling to let her go it seemed.

" Tia it's fine. I told you last night I have no problem, besides Clark said I'll come there with Adrian right Clark?"

The black man had his arms crossed over his chest as he waited patiently for the blond to let go of Diana is that they could finally leave the country before the sun fully rose to the still sleeping sky.

Julia had large tears in her green eyes as she wiped them away with the back of her colored hands. she had painted them early on before Clark had woken up and told them to get their stuff and leave with him.

There were bags on the floor and Jody was right next to them. her brother that disgrace of a human being was on the couch as his small mumbling chuckles were hidden behind the blanket, Judy had insisted him to have on his still fevered body.

Clark shook his bald head and stepped near to grab a hold of Tia's collar and swing her back from Diana who was getting tired from rubbing Tia's back.

Tia let out a yowl as her glassy, red eyes glared hard at the man who had her feet above the ground.

" I will kill you! I'm gonna stab your ass again! let me go! I'm not coming bro! fuck everyone I AM BIT COMING YOU HEAR ME?!"

Clark wore a blank expression as he blinked once, twice before flipping the blond's thin body over his shoulder and moving to the door.

"Julia be good and bring those bags while I'm dealing with this THING! "

Jody sighed and turned around. Diana was laughing as Tia cursed Clark through their while way down the apartment... a good thing it was only Jody who lived there.

Julia gave a bitter smile as she walked up to Jody and hugged her close ti her chest.

the black-haired girl went rigid at the sudden contact, but slowly her arms went up to Julia's back as Jody patted her a few times.

" I'm gonna miss your awkwardness, Jody. "

Jody gave a puzzled look as Julia let her go and laughed her way to Diana.

" I'm not awkward..."

Julia punched Diana's arms lazily as she gave her a bitter smile.

" we will be waiting for you and Adrian. "

if someone asked her that she would see her brother again two months ago, she would've laughed and then cried...but after meeting them...the people who gave her hope...she knew...

" I'm looking forward to seeing you when he gets back."

" that's the spirit! "

they both laughed at the same time as Jason snorted at them.

Julia sighed just as Diana glared. Jody had filled him in about everything that had happened the night before. Diana turned around to look at the laying boy.

even though the blanket was showing most of his bandages the smirk on his pale, stupid face was irritating.

" what? "

he asked in a tune like he hadn't just made fun of them both.

" you know, Diana I think there IS someone who I wouldn't miss...The bitch on the couch! "

" aw! I love you too Julia! "

" why you little! "

Julia had that angry look on her face people make when they deeply want to kill someone.

Jason was lucky because Jody chose that moment to step between her bad excuse of a brother and Julia.

" let's not get nasty in the morning okay? "

" tell that to him! "

" I thought you'd know that he doesn't know the human tongue so why try when you know it's not gonna reach anywhere? "

" hey! who's side are you on? "

" I didn't let her punch the shit out if you right? "

that shut him up. Diana smirked at his frowned face. that served him right. the bastard had been on her nerves all the time

" okay Julia, I don't think it would be wise to let Clark wait in the cold with a talking machine-like Tia."

----------------------------------------------------------------------

after a lot of waves and curses from Tia followed closely by Clark's sharp responses and after plenty of hugs from Julia, they finally left for a country she wasn't told.

Clark said that it was best for everyone if they didn't know...at least for now.

Judy had looked sullen after that...as if she was sad they were gone. her shoulders sunk and her brows went in each other. but after a deep sigh that sounded dangerously like a sob, she had her blank expression back on her face.

" I need to bring Sandy to my mother...i...I know it's too much to ask from you and I know he's insufferable but can you...like...watch over him while I'm gone? I promise I'll tell him not to go on your nerves and like...you can even eat one of my ice creams—

" Jody it's fine. I'll take care of him. you take Sandy back. "

She looked relaxed like a ton of weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

" thank you... I'll repay you I assure you. "

Diana was confused by that answer she hadn't expected Jody to be this bad at asking for help.

" you don't need to pay me..."

but Jody was gone...

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sandy had cried her eyes out when Jody told her that she needed to go back home.

she had run out of the room to the couch where Jason was sitting as she climbed into it and hid under his blanket as she sat on his lab and shivered out of pure fear.

Jason had pressed her close and as Jody came closer to taking the crying girl away, a haunted look passed over his dark blue eyes that Diana sometimes was scared ti look at.

he hooked his arms around his sister and glared at Jody.

" Does she have to go? "

" Jay, c'mon don't make this difficult, you know why she has to go. "

he was glaring even harder and as Diana made herself comfortable on the kitchen chair she could feel the icy voice of him say.

" Yeah I know it's because of your terrible excuse of a mother. "

Diana frowned...what is wrong with their mother anyway?

" she is terrible...but I can't call her and tell her that I'm not bringing her back."

" Great! I'll do it then. "

Sandy took a sharp breath as she got her blackhead out of the covers to look into the eyes that looked just like her own. a tiny broken shred of hope was shining in her blue horizon.

"you would?! "

" go grab my jacket kiddo. "

Sandy let a happy sound out as she dashed to the room she had run from just a few minutes ago.

Diana didn't want to seem nosy but she couldn't help herself but listen to what they were saying.

Jason tried to get up but with a pain-filled yell, he fell to the sofa.

" can't get up...should've expected...help me out, Jody? "

his sister was looking at him with her stormy dark eyes.

" you can't get up on your feet but you want to go ti the phone that is two streets away? "

Jason grabbed the arms of the couch as he took another breath to get up. with a grunt, he was on his feet.

" well, the things I do for her I guess"

Jody only shook her head as a deep breath went out of her mouth.

"she's going to kill you. "

" oh Jody I'm already a dead man, I killed Scarlet remember? "

she was about to reply with something nasty but Sandy came back to the room with the biggest smile she could offer. the leather, bloody jacket was as big as her entire body. there was dried blood all over the black thing as it smelled strongly of sweat.

" hey, there giggles I'm going out be okay hm? oh and kiss Diana for me. "

Diana fisted her hand against the table as she tried to not show that she was listening to them. she could feel the way he was smirking under his breath.

" I will! "

Sandy giggled as Jason pulled on her cheeks.

" see I gave you a good nickname. giggles right? "

Sandy nodded sharply.

Jody took his arm as he turned to leave.

" you sit, I'll go. "

Jason snorted and tilted his head to let his blue gaze fell over to her.

" you don't know how to put her back in her place...''
