Why Were You Not Here The Last Time

Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation

"Oh my gosh, it is almost my turn! I am so excited! I am still nervous despite having attended a fansign once! I cannot remember what I wanted to tell him!"

The girl beside her took a deep breath, but it obviously did nothing to help her.

Su Xia patted her shoulder comfortingly. "It is okay, there is plenty of time. You can tell him everything slowly," she said.

Just then, one of the staff members walked over to the girl's side. "Come on, it is your turn soon," the staff announced.

Su Xia raised her cap slightly and gave the girl an encouraging look. She then moved her gaze onto Lu Jingyao, who was listening to a fan and giving out his signature with his head lowered.

Although he still maintained his usual cold demeanor, the fans could feel his sincerity during their interactions.

He responded to every sentence they said. It made them feel that he would never take them lightly no matter how tired he was.

He had always been like this throughout the years.

Su Xia could still vividly recall the first time she attended a fansign. That was her first time seeing him in person after being a fan for four years. She had been excited and anxious throughout the first half of the session. After going on stage, she realized that she had lost the letter she written to Lu Jingyao.

It was a letter that she had spent a long time writing. She just had to lose it.

Overwhelmed with guilt and dismay, she almost cried out in disarray. Right at that moment, Lu Jingyao comforted her in his low, melodious voice.

"Do not cry, I will ask someone to look for it. If they cannot find it, I will look around for it myself," he said.

She thought that he was just saying so to comfort her. However, the staff contacted her to tell her that they had managed to find the letter.

Su Xia remembered how touched she was then up till today.

Lu Jingyao was really worth all of it.

"It is your turn soon."

Su Xia got up and followed the staff member up the stage.

She was nervous.

Despite having met him for a number of times, she was still a bundle of nerves. Her hands were cold with sweat. She had not even been that nervous during the pilot broadcast of her first movie.

Lu Jingyao was well-known for his looks, which met everyone's beauty standards. His side profile was well-defined and appeared almost flawless. Staring at him from the side, Su Xia's heart raced to the point that it felt like it was about to jump out.

All of a sudden, Lu Jingyao's gaze fell on her.

His eyes were black as ink. The cold, seemingly bottomless orbs seemed to soften upon the sight of her.

Su Xia forgot how to breathe momentarily.

She walked over instinctively.

"Bro...Brother!"

She sat down and lowered her voice as part of her disguise.

"Yes…" Lu Jingyao said as he nodded.

The slight slur of his deep voice was accompanied by a hint of gentleness. "Qianqian," he said.

Su Xia's mind instantly went blank at the sound of his deep voice calling out her name.

She continued staring as he held onto a pen and wrote the words "To Qianqian" on her album.

His lowered lashes cast a shadow on the area under his eyes.

His melodious voice came to her like a cool breeze on a summer day.

"Why were you not here the last time?" he asked.

"Last time…" Su Xia's mouth gaped.

She could finally think straight. "I did not win the raffle the last time!" she replied.

She already had her schedule arranged for that few days to accommodate for the fansign event. However, she did not win the raffle. She had almost cried out in disappointment and despair.

The bitter tone of her voice made Xu Si, who was standing beside them, laughed out loud. "I see. I thought you stopped becoming a fan and started stanning someone else," he said.
