I chose to advance my poison affinity to dominance since it was my lowest leveled affinity. The surge of power I felt because of this simple action was invigorating. I found myself pursuing multiple lines of thought at once which made me quieter, and calmer. One line of thought was focused on my foresight at the moment. The other was focused on the half elf not far from me.
I knew he was tired of being a slave. I knew how he would respond if I freed his mother. I didn't need to guess. A small smirk creeped up on my face. He would make a good bonded.
Now I just had to plan out how I would deal with the meeting I'd scheduled with the leaders of earth. One year. That was how long I needed to set up a stable spatial corridors to the wolves home island, and to the lizardman planet. I looked down at the old man who wasn't even breathing right now. He was old.
I knew that on instinct. He might be of use to me. My mind wandered away from using foresight, and started going through Savannah's memories. Taking note of everything that might affect us long term, and ignoring everything that didn't. My main focus moved over to Ethan.
I couldn't sense his emotions anymore. Not inside my mind. I could see them clearly, and I could look through his mind if I wanted to, but his mind was walled off the rest of the time. I had a good idea of his physical state. He'd been changed in more then one way.
The fragment of my soul he'd taken from me still hurt, but the fragment had completely fused with him already. His soul had changed to be more bestial then human now. I frowned. I wondered if the werewolves were similar. They'd be able to teach him how to handle such a change if my hunch was correct.
I was jolted out of my line of thought when I realized that I was being watched. My eyes tracked who was watching me. Coming up to meet hers. The water great Eliza. I tapped the gem on my forehead.
My skin closed over the gem. Hiding it from sight. I did the same with the one on my chest. I didn't know how I knew that would work. I just did it, and it did.
I approached her. My dominance over space allowed me to just cross the distance without having to actually move. I just needed to want to be over there. This startled her.
"I should thank you for helping," I nodded to her.
"I'm just glad this could end with minimal casualties," she sounded a bit nervous.
"I never wanted to kill any humans," I shrugged, "I'm just not willing to die. Any I have killed forced my hand."
Eliza looked slightly concerned by that statement. I realized something else that was odd. I was completely comfortable in my human form now. I missed my wings, and tail, but I wasn't actually physically uncomfortable. I found that interesting.
None of this random thinking affected my conversation with Eliza. This whole line of thought was contained within my parallel line of thought. I smirked mentally at that thought. This meant I could have two conversations at once without pausing mid speech. One mental.
One verbal.
"As much as I wish that wasn't true," she sighed, "I know that you don't see much of a point in lying."
I shrugged. Sure there were some things that I wouldn't be willing to tell her, but she was right. I didn't see much point in lying.
"What do you plan to do now?" she asked.
"What I planned to do from the beginning," I smirked, "Forge an alliance with humanity. Bring the dragons back. Save the world. I would like you to be one of my first allies here on earth."
