Chapter 18 - Domineering!

Chapter 18 - Domineering!

Whoosh!

Maxmillan arrived in the city a second after he took off from his parent's house. And as soon as he arrived in the city, an aura of exceeding brutality and viciousness began to exude from his body. Also, a resenting gaze could be seen in his eyes, as he was constantly reminded of the various inhumane maltreatments that he experienced in the hands of every caster of Astra Mystralis.

Although he moved at a great speed that could seriously harm his skin due to air friction, and his eyes due to the impact of the wind upon them, but they didn't sustain any form of damage due to the protective, high-frequency auric field of energy that shielded his whole being from the dangerous and deleterious effects of moving at such a colossally fast speed.

At the moment, Maxmillan's eyes seemed to contain tens of thousands of gleaming, blood-red daggers that will shoot out of his eyes and stab wickedly into anyone that will make trouble for him.

After a while of looking around him with unbounded resentment in his eyes, as various fury-invoking scenes played over and over again in his head, he looked in the direction of the garage that transport carriages usually parked in to ask any of the carriage drivers about his mom, with the hope that they would be able to recognize her and tell him where she could be found.

Whoosh!

He dashed there and appeared right in front of their closed, twelve-feet tall gate in one-hundredth of a split-second.

Then lowering himself into a partial squat, he directly leapt over the massive gate to the other side.

As soon as he landed, with virtually no noise coming from him, he immediately dashed to a large building that he felt could be where the divers resided. And as he dashed towards there at his peak human speed of 90km/h, since he had returned the Ultra-High Velocity Traversal Speed Boots to his inventory, his face immediately hardened. It bore no smile. Only total seriousness. And a gaze that could kill countless times!

"You, who are you? What do you want? And how did you get in here?!" Someone that stood outside the tall residential building to take in fresh air, suddenly asked when he saw a tall figure walk towards him with a cold sharp light emitting from his intense blue eyes.

"Hello, I am here to ask after someone who hasn't returned home since she left for the city in one of the carriages parked here." Maxmillan said with the emotion of unfathomable anger concealed in his voice.

"Huh?" The person exclaimed and fearlessly approached Maxmillan to gaze at him, but with a surprised look in his face as he wondered how Maxmillan had got in without tripping off the magical alarm system at the gate.

"So, how do you want us to help you? Look, everyone that came to the city through our transport carriages arrived here safely. So, you should go to the city and begin your search from there. Not here, you moron." The person said and gave a caustic remark.

Then with a perceptible tone of mockery in his voice, the person said further after price-gauging Maxmillan's low-class outfit, "And maybe she has followed a really wealthy man to his house. You know how ladies can sometimes be. Extremely materialistic basta-"

Bang!

The man couldn't complete his speech when a fist so powerful and heavy landed in his face and sent him flying for more than eight feet.

"Bastard!" Maxmillan angrily said with his bottled anger bursting out of him in full force.

Swoosh!

He dashed towards the man that he shoved away with a punch and picked him up by his right feet. Then with a small twist of his upper body, he powerfully hurled the man grasped in his left hand away.

Bang!

The man who was further hurled off by fifteen feet into the distance, heavily collided into one of the carriages parked at where he landed from his hurl by a wrathful, demonic-faced Maxmillan.

"How dare you be so bold to attack us in the early hours of the morning?!" Someone suddenly rushed out of the tall residential building with a large group that consisted mostly of carriage drivers.

"Don't you know that attacking anyone of us is attacking all of us? Do you want to die a most horrible death?" The person further asked with an indignant expression written all over his face.

"Oh really? I didn't know that." Maxmillan said with his hands clenching into tight fists, as he prepared himself for a battle with the massive assembly of low-level and average-level casters of Astra Mystralis that had flanked him on all side and stared at him with seemingly bottomless rage in their eyes.

Whoosh!

He suddenly dashed towards them at his peak speed and began to pummel their faces one after the other.

He was so swift and agile that before they could aim their hands at him to cast any overbearing, offensive magical effect upon him, he had punched them really hard in the face which immediately sent them flying for many feet into the distance.

After a long while of sending powerful punches around, which sent everyone of the carriage drivers flying around and colliding into pillars or anyone of the carriages parked at far places in the garage, Maxmillan went forward to pick the person that spoke last and asked with a cold demonical smile in his face after lifting him a few feet above the ground, "Were you and your damned group able to do anything significant to me? No! Meaning your magic casting abilities are utterly useless in the face of colossal strength and great speed."

Maxmillan then threw him to the ground so hard that the man landed with his head first, instantly passing out.

Then with a loud angry voice, he said, "I give all of you a day to produce the driver that conveyed my mom from Greenriver town to the city. Or I will return here to leave with your heads ripped off from your necks with my bare hands."

As soon as he mentioned that with really cold chills beginning to move down their spines, Maxmillan produced a picture of his mom and gently placed it by the side of the person that he forcefully threw to the ground using only an arm.

When he first took out the picture to place on the ground beside the man, he looked completely different from his previous, vengeful demonical appearance.

He looked sweet, likable, approachable and charitable. But as soon as he placed the picture on the ground and looked at the unconscious person beside him, his spine-chilling gaze that felt like he could collapse the sky and destroy the earth out of excessive unfathomable anger, immediately returned. While a terrifying cold aura that could cause the blood to develop frost and thickly curdle, began to emit from him.

"Just a day. I will be back in only a day for my answers." Maxmillan said and turned around to leave. While the people on the ground with severely battered and swollen faces, fearfully looked at his frightening tall figure as he walked fearlessly and confidently into the distance.

***

A few minutes later...

"Up, everyone. Up! We need to report this to th-"

Bang!

Someone was speaking when a loud gunshot was suddenly heard from the distance. Then what happened next was the person collapsing lifelessly to the ground with a fully blown hole at the center of his head.

Splurt! Splurt! Splurt!...

Blood began to spout out from a hole that extended all the way to the back of his head. One could even see what was behind him through the hole that the fired bullet made in his head.

While Maxmillan who stood at a distance with a .45 magnum pistol in his hand and had a really vicious, frosty expression in his face, said ''Return''.

Space immediately warped around the magnum gun before it vanished, returning to the Inventory.

Without needing to say anything more to the people that looked at him from afar with ghastly expressions in their faces, Maxmillan simply turned around and walked away.

"What terrifying weapon is that?" One of them asked with his body fully drenched in sweat and continuously exuded the suffocating smell of fear.

"T-This person is absolutely terrifying! Please let's do as he asked. W-Who knows, he could be watching us like this, waiting for us to fully make up our minds. And if we think the wrong thing or take a step that is in total discordance with what he m-mentioned, he might put us out in the same vicious way that he put out Herron." One of them stutteringly said as he looked around him with an expression of boundless terror in his face, while the others nodded their heads in great fear and alarm as they looked around them.

After leaving the garage, Maxmillan decided that it was time to visit the Astra Mystralis-powered thugs and complete his mission of eliminating every single one of them to get the rewards that will improve his current battle rating, since he knew very well that, even with his current peak human strength, speed and agility, he still wasn't a match for a newly-budded Astra Spellcraft Commander that could telekinetically fix hundreds of things within a range of a thousand feet around them to the ground with their spellweaving ability, and then simply turn everything within that massive telekinetic range to dust or ashes, therefore exterminating him that would be caught in it. They were true, accomplished masters of magic.

Therefore, the only way to match up with them, since his missions would become increasingly difficult as time flowed by, was by acquiring more devastating futuristic weapons and supreme-class, state-of-the-art technological gadgets and devices that will help him exceedingly level up in his battle with the powerful Astra Spellcraft Commanders and possibly overwhelm them and slay them.

But only if he knew that there were still the Astra Spellcraft Lords, and the mighty Astra Nexus Paragons who were simply god-like and were famously referred to as god-mortals, which was a term coined by average casters and implied that colossally powerful, phenomenal celestial gods who were in perfect consonance with Astra Mystralis; the very matter that they firmly believed made up their world, dwelled within the bodies of certain mortals and could effortlessly unleash countless and boundlessly vast, void-unveiling, earth-rupturing preternatural effects!
