Chapter 31: making the buzz and talent

Shopping with Alicia was a pleasure this girl was really reserved she didn't like it when I bought things for her but she didn't say anything I could see in her body language that she was uncomfortable with the situation I was putting her in but when I started I couldn't stop myself she was so pretty everything looked good on her also this was the first time in so many years I had a girlfriend to shop with so I may have gone overboard a bit I was having so much fun that I didn't look at the time until I felt hungry again we had been shopping for the last 5 hours without a break since we were close to it I choose to eat at the Gramercy Tavern I had never been there before but Anthony praised this place after on of his business trip

-So Alicia sorry about this I got carried away it's just I was happy shopping with another woman for once and you are so pretty that's so easy to dress you up

-No it's alright it was a first for me but I must say you rich people really know how to enjoy themself I have never seen so different type of dress at once said Alicia

-Well it took me time to get used to it at first I was just like you but after 15 years with them, I grew used to it you know I was a nurse before and I came from Hell's Kitchen we weren't poor but we weren't rich either

-Wait you are from New York I thought you were some wealthy daughter of a conglomerate who got engaged to Anthony since you are so pretty i also thought you were a princess from another country who got used as a chip in a political marriage as a way to get close to the Smith family

-Hahaha you have a nice imagination ... no I was hired to take care of little Ace at the beginning but I felt a strong connection with Ace from the very start so I asked Anthony if I could be the maid he was looking for to take care of little Ace, he accepted so I left New York to go live with them and little by little I fell in love with Anthony, it still took 15 years before he confesses to me this man I swear that's why I said at least one man in the family as ball earlier (giggles)

-Humph I wouldn't have given him the time to wait this long if by the end of the summer, he hadn't confessed to me i would have done it myself but I was surprised that he felt just like me i thought I was being hasty and that one at first sight was a myth but I'm glad i was wrong said Alicia with sparkling eyes

I start talking about Ace's childhood answering the occasional question from Alicia she was surprised to know that Ace didn't have any friends before meeting Derrick you would think that with how he lived his life until that time they met at Rucker Park he would be socially awkward person but quite the opposite in fact he was funny easy to talk to and charismatic after finishing our meal we continued our talk in the car going back to the villa

Alicia P.O.V

Talking with Helena made me realize that Ace was right I really was overthinking things she was kind to me and we hit it off quite well I'm still feeling uneasy about all the things she bought me but I must say they were really beautiful dresses in there I couldn't wait to parade in front of Ace with them on. I had a blast learning about Ace's story when he was little I didn't know he was homeschooled that was less of a surprise when I thought about him not having any friends until really recently if he had been to school I bet he would have plenty of friends already I'm pretty sure

When we got back to the villa I made my way toward the dressing in my room while Helena was looking for Anthony and Ace I had so many bags that Nigel had to ask security for help after telling them where to put my things down they left with Nigel leading them so as to not let them wandered around he really was as reliable as ever I only saw him twice but he gave a sense of trustiness every rich ''chauffeur'' I had imagine has, taking out all the clothes jewelry and shoes and organizing them into my dressing room took me almost an hour 

After finishing taking care of that I was about to head downstairs when I saw light under our music studio knowing that Ace never turned on the light without being in the room and I never saw him forget to turn them off I pushed the door open as I was expecting Ace was sitting in front of the computer doing something

-What are you doing here by yourself I thought you would spend time with your Uncle I asked him 

-Oh hi Love welcome back did you have a fun time shopping with Lena he said turning his chair around and patting his tight as a sign for me to sit there

-Yes I really had fun even if she bought me too many things sigh.. anyway that didn't answer my question why are you alone here

-I'm a little mad at my Uncle so I came here to be alone but I got so engrossed in releasing our music that I forgot about everything else hehe if it wasn't for you I would probably stay here until tonight without realizing it

-Why are you mad at him 

-He didn't do something I had told him not to do ... well I'm not really mad at him I'm just disappointed he didn't trust my judgment anyway it's nothing I'll forgive him in a couple of years he said with a sly smirk on his face

-No I had already made all the preparations needed 3 days ago I was just waiting for the copyrights to be legally registered and now that it's done I put both our singles out but I did wait for you for one thing what do you want our label to be called?

-We have a label I asked a little dizzy by the revelation

-Yes but don't worry it didn't cost anything except for the registration fee and our office will be here I also opened a business bank account just now so we can keep track of the money our label makes more easily and we won't have a problem with the IRS... so what should we call it

Anthony Smith P.O.V

For the last 5 hours, I have been doing work on my laptop in the living room since Ace left the kitchen I hadn't seen him so it could only mean 2 things he lost himself in one of his projects or he was avoiding me it does bother me thinking that he could be avoiding me but I also think that I did the right thing and that Ace will understand I just had finish work when Helena sat beside me and kiss my cheeks

-So did you talk with Ace she asked

-Yes I did I thought he would be angry or throw a tantrum but he just said he was disappointed in me ... it hurts me more than I thought I don't know what to do now

-He went at you hard with this one but don't beat yourself up I'll just say this once and if you ever tell another soul I will deny it .. you were not wrong in doing what you did you were just unlucky because this girl is a pearl so yeah Ace was also right and there's nothing you can do you should give him space and don't do anything stupid 

-Hmm you're right okay for the next 2 days I'll just learn more about her myself what do you say we took them to enjoy the New York I know

-Hehe this could be funny but don't overdo it because Alicia is just like me when I was still a nurse said, Helena

Since I had already lost I just took the chance to cuddle my future wife a little I really need her comforting presence now ... I really love this woman while I was lost in thoughts she suddenly started laughing

-This kid is really smart he used his Lotus writer account to recommend Alicia's song the song has been out for 4 hours now and it already has 80 million views if it continues like this he will break a record 

-How are the comments Are they positive?

-Not just positive it is almost perfect 80k likes for 6k dislikes Comments are mostly praise if you don't count the sexually frustrated teenagers who as nothing else to do than shit on people's talents because their life sucks

Helena finally pushed the play button on the lyrics video since there was no music video for the song yet the song started with a tiger or a lion roar Alicia's voice came soon after that I already knew the lyrics but hearing it with Alicia singing it was really different from what I had in mind this song was catchy Helena was bobbling her head left and right singing the song with a big smile on her face 

-Damn Ace found a Gem, omg this song is so good let's listen to Ace's song now said, Helena

She types the name of Ace song in the research bar on top and then stops moving her finger standing still 

-What going on why are you not clicking on it I asked her

-I was just shocked he broke a record 120 million views in less than 5 hours she then clicked on the song so that we could listen to it

Ace's voice was deeper in this song than his normal voice but it carried weight adding more depth to the song and making it more emotional I was no expert but I could feel it in this song Ace poured his heart out I don't know about what he was singing the lyrics could be interpreted on so many levels I don't know when but near the end of the song I realize I was having a lump in my throat that wouldn't go away until I heard Helena sobbing I swallowed the sadness I was feeling and hug her tighter 

-These kids have talent I said in a whisper

-Hmm nod Helena leaning her back on my chest and closing her eyes with a small sad but proud smile
