Sam added while chuckling, "Yeah, I expected you to be helpful, but not this helpful.'
John smirked and added, "Well, it was great while working with you guys as well; at least you, Sam, as I didn't see you anywhere after you got arrested, Dean."
Hearing this, Dean was a bit doumbfounded, and Sam burst out laughing.
After calming down a bit, Dean said, "On a serious note, man, would you like to come with us? We could surely use someone with your talents."
I was waiting for the same question directly and pounced on it by saying, "Sure, I'd see 1 or 2 more hunts with you guys."
We then went to where the Impala was parked and got into our respective seats, i.e., Dean on the drive, Sam on the shotgun, and I sat in the backseat, and we set off to our next destination, i.e., Sam's home with his girlfriend, after which I and Dean would go on to our next destination, leaving Sam with his life, 'or so they think'.
General POV with a focus on Sam initially.
After several hours on the road, they reached Sam's place. Sam entered the apartment and checked the flat where he lived with his girlfriend; he even found cookies there made by his girlfriend with a note saying, "Missed you! Love you!". He could hear the sounds coming from the bathroom, which caused him to think that Jessica was in the bathroom. He lied down on his bed, only to have a drop of blood fall onto his face. Looking up, he is horrified to see Jessica pinned to the ceiling in the same way as their mother.
She then burst into flames, with sounds like the screams of tormented souls coming in the background. Dean barges inside, having seen some flames, along with John, who restrains the flames and plucks something out of them, and then helps Dean move Sam out of the burning flat.
They call upon fire trucks, and while that is going on, John pulls Sam and Dean aside, and they curiously follow him to a place where they could keep a lookout and also be able to see the progress of the rescue operation.
After John, in a low voice, said, "I was able to trap the soul of Jessica as soon as we entered the house; would you like to have a talk with her?"
Sam, hearing this, was initially sceptical but agreed nonetheless.
After which, John handed over a pendant that held Jessica's soul to Sam.
Seeing Sam go a bit afar to talk to Jessica, Dean curiously asked, "What would you be doing with the soul after the talk with Sam is done? I refuse to believe that we can hold a soul infinitely."
John replied to him, "This pendant has a way of cleaning curses from the soul; I refuse to believe that her soul was cleaned after looking at the way she died. I am not saying she was inherently bad, but such deaths often forcefully carry the soul directly to Hell. The pendant will clean out the soul from such marks and will let the soul follow its real or pure path."
Dean, " So you'll release the soul, and it'll go wherever it should go instead of being forced to go to hell, right?"
John, "Yeah."
By this time, Sam was done taking care of Jessica and was ready to let her move on.
Hearing this, John quickly clicked on the button and freed the soul from the locket, and it went to its final destination.
