More decisions

As Perseus drove away, he clutched his head as he thought about how he didn't even try and negotiate instead he just nodded his head silently and then got completely led by the receptionist.

He got a fair price, but he was still pissed that he couldn't get more. The merchant guild was scary. Perseus shook his head. No, he was going to work hard to become the best, no matter how hard it was.

After all, he had a poor master and twin. And he was going to help them out.

Perseus briefly thought about his twin. The twin he had only been together with for a few weeks. But they were very close even though they had only known each other for a small period of time.

Perseus heard that Arjuna was popular in the city, to what extent he wasn't sure, Arjuna was too tired to answer these days. Whenever Arjuna logged off he just leaped for the nearest bed or couch and slept.

Some of the things Perseus had heard about but most of the activities that things that he was learning were unknown to him until he asked Jason.

Once he learned about how hard Arjuna was working Perseus only got even more determined to help the two and carry his own weight and more. In fact, he would do anything to get that. He might even be fine doing things that weren't moral to get his goal.

Perseus's eyes slightly darkened as he thought about what he should do.

Perseus headed for the nearest clothing shop. He wanted to get the guild members' actual clothes and other things. He had considered giving them things so that they would feel a sense of belonging to the guild, but he didn't have sufficient expenses currently, all that he could do was give them some clothes and feed them food.

The new guild members were earning their keep though, with the quests that they were completing.

Boops was now connected to the guild map and could easily see where the guild members were. Most of them were actually at the guild house, where Jack was cleaning the boys up.

So far non of them had been seriously injured a few got a few scratches and such but that was the life of an adventurer.

Perseus finally stopped at a regular clothing shop. It was normal with a sign that said Matilda's Clothing Shop.

1 female clerk and a male helper were assisting customers in the shop. The took measurements for some people and started to write things down. Or they lead other customers to a room int he backfilled with clothes.

Perseus stepped on the hardwood floor which creaked and caught the female clerk's attention. She called out to Perseus with a cheerful voice

"I can help you now sir!"

Perseus nodded and walked up to the lady. He smilled ever so gently and said in a nice soothing voice

"miss, do you have any clothes for young boys around the age of 8 to 10 I would deeply prefer if they were second-hand clothes as times are tough here."

The clerk looked at Perseus with his handsome smile and was instantly indulged in a fantasy of him being her white knight in shining armor.

She stammered and said

"u-um I think we have some in the backroom, i-ill go and check"

She then scurried off. And Perseus's expression returned to the normal almost emotionless face that he had on pretty frequently unless he was with his master or Arjuna then he could let himself loose a bit.

Perseus waited for a bit and he couldn't help but tap his feet on the ground in impatience while he waited for the clerk to bring the clothes, he looked around the clothing shop. He was thinking about going to a tailor, but they seemed too expensive, a place such as this that looked like they sold mass-produced clothes was much better.

Many customers were in the shop browsing through shelves of clothing. Perseus noticed that most of the people looking for clothes were dressed up poorly. Patches were on their elbows and knees and their pants had torn edges.

And Perseus could smell a slightly familiar smell in the air. There was one place that had that smell. And Jack his first subordinate was from it. The slums. Somebody from there was in that shop.

Perseus trying not to alarm anyone carefully looked around without turning his head, pretending that he was just trying to look at some of the clothes on the self.

After a bit of looking, and with the help of Boops who had conveniently dropped by to check on Perseus. He saw in the very corner of the shop, where the dirtiest and cheapest clothes were. A small girl stood there trying to quietly shuffle through the box of clothes.

She was covered in a dirty cloak and she pressed it close to her small body like it was a precious material.

Perseus quickly asked Boops to analyze her, and Boops sent to Perseus the information

That was all of the information Perseus was given. It was a bit weird since Boops could usually get information on allot of things. Only a few things would make Boops not become able to provide further information.

One was that the opponent was extremely high leveled. Much higher than Jason's level. Or 2 the person analyzed just didn't have any significant information about her/himself.

A sad tug at Perseus's heart told him that it was probably the 2nd one.

Perseus couldn't empathize with the little girl in front of him. He and his twin were born only a few days ago and were almost immediately put into training. Of course, they had the knowledge and common sense of Jason's old world. But still, even if he knew of circumstances like that he couldn't really feel any sadness or pity for the girl.

He looked at the girl and started to think. His master got points from strong emotion, right? Then if he helped people like this girl wouldn't he be helping his master allot?

Perseus started to think even harder. And eventually, he walked up to the girl and squatted down like how he did with the boys in the guild.

He mustered up a kind smile and said to the girl gently

"hey, you must want some of those clothes right?"

The young girl turned around hastily and looked at Perseus. She had a cloak on but Perseus could clearly see her face. The cloak acted like a large hoody with her small face popping out. She was about 10 years old and had short blond hair and green eyes that reminded Perseus of an emerald. She was a bit dirty with some soot and dirt covering her face and she smelled like the slums.

She noticeable relaxed when she saw Perseus's face. But she was still cautious and backed up a bit until she bumped into the wall.

When she bumped into the wall, she gave off a small whimper like a kicked puppy and sat down holding her head (even though it wasn't the part that hit the wall). Her tiny hands trembled as she fought to not cry. Perseus just watched, but Boops, on the other hand, was screaming in Perseus's head

"AHHHH WHAT IS THAT CUTE CREATURE AHHHHHHH THE CUTENESS"

Perseus tried to shake off the loud voice in his head, but Boops persisted screaming his non-existent lungs out.

Perseus held out his hand to pat the girl. He probably wouldn't have done that if he was thinking but, having a person scream in your head does stuff to you.

He softly placed a hand on her head and said to her in a soothing voice

"there, there everything will be fine"

Boops suddenly stopped and leaked out a perplexed voice like he was looking at something weird.

Perseus ignored Boops and said to the girl as kindly as he could while handing her something.

"here, take this and get yourself something to wear"

Perseus was then called over by the female clerk who was blushing for some reason. And he walked over to the counter where a large stack of boy's clothes was waiting for him.

The young girl looked at Perseus who had started to talk to the clerk really fast. For some reason, the clerk got overwhelmed and nodded her head. Perseus then nodded to himself happily and walked off carrying the large stack of clothes with one hand like it was nothing.

He then loaded it onto the wagon while the clerk just stood in a confused state. The girl could hear her mutter to herself

"I can't believe, he haggled down to 2 silver coins...."

Perseus then snapped the reins and the wagon started to move slowly.

Right before he got out of sight, he turned and made eye contact with the girl. He then turned away like he didn't see anything and soon he disappeared out of the small girl's view.

The little girl turned to the item he had given her and opened her hand. She saw 5 glittering bronze coins. Just enough to buy an entire set of clothes for herself. The young girl, smilled so much that dimples appeared on her face.

While Perseus was driving, Boops showed him the flood of points Jason was getting. All from the same person. Perseus almost crashed from his surprise, it was an investment and a little bit of an experiment. But Perseus started to learn about emotions.
