Chapter 1Where Am I?

Beep beep... beep beep...

"Watch out!" someone shouted.

Crash.

A deafening noise erupted in the street, and when you looked down, a woman lay on the ground, covered in blood, her life spilling out onto the pavement.

Thump-thump.

I never imagined that after all these years, I would find myself here, dying alone in this cold weather at the age of 25. A sigh escaped my lips. "Damn, I guess I'll miss my flight."

Every inch of my body felt shattered, and as I scanned my surroundings, I spotted a young boy standing nearby. Relief washed over me; at least the boy was safe.

After enduring so much suffering at that company, I had finally secured some time off—my much-deserved vacation—after working like a slave for five grueling years. But as I was about to leave, I saw that car careening out of control, destined to hit that child. I couldn't just stand by; in the end, at least I managed to save him.

Pain coursed through me, anger bubbling to the surface. My vision blurred, and I sensed that consciousness was slipping away. I tried to adjust my position but found it impossible.

Suddenly, a small smile tugged at my lips. "At least I should have broken up with that jerk," I mused, thinking back on my past relationships.

My gaze drifted once more, landing on my friend's book, Sweethearts Forever, now torn and stained with my blood. A wave of nostalgia washed over me. "I always enjoyed dating; I never thought much about marriage. But in this moment, I realize I would have liked to marry a wealthy man. How delightful it would be to live without the endless grind of work and to buy anything I wanted without a second thought."

I clenched my teeth, determination battling my despair. "I guess it's too late for that now."

Silence enveloped me.

Suddenly, a voice broke through the stillness. "If you had the chance to do it all over again, would you?"

My heart raced at the sound of the voice.

Thump-thump. Thump-thump.

Startled, I trembled. "What?"

The voice repeated, "Would you like to do it all over again?"

I felt a surge of defiance as I replied, "If I could live again, I'd want a different life, not to repeat everything."

The voice chuckled softly. "Good answer."

Then, everything went dark.

"Why is it dark?"

"Where am I?"

Struggling to open my eyes, I finally managed to do so. I awoke with a heavy hand on my head, a terrible headache pounding through me, and the cold air biting at my skin.

Looking around, confusion set in. "Where am I? This doesn't look like my room."

I inhaled deeply and sat up, taking in the luxurious surroundings. "What a beautiful and opulent place... but where is this?"

My mind raced back to the accident. "Didn't I just have an accident?"

I scratched my head, trying to make sense of it all, and then my gaze landed on an ID card lying on the nightstand. Reaching for it, I examined the photo. It looked just like me, yet I had no recollection of ever taking it. Sifting through the papers scattered around, I stumbled upon a marriage certificate.

Squinting, I read the names on the document: Han Chen and Yang Liu.

Shock coursed through me, and I dropped it. "Yang Liu? But that's my name, isn't it? And that's my signature, right?"

"What the hell is going on?" I whispered to myself, my mind racing.

Nervously, I laughed, "Yang Liu, take a deep breath. Maybe you have a twin sister."

Just then, a knock on the door startled me.

"Madam, are you awake?"

Yang Liu froze, mind racing. Madam? Me?

She glanced at the door, hurriedly picking up the documents scattered on the floor. "Just a minute, please!"

Yang Liu was always a person who thought quickly and adapted to the situation. So she takes a deep breath as she gathers the documents and moved to open the door.

Every muscle in her body went taut at the implications of sleeping in a man’s arms. She had never slept in a male’s embrace before. Her whole skin tingled like tiny sparks dancing on the very parts that connected with him. The crevices of her brain had these memories which weren't hers. This touch somehow didn't seem foreign to her. She felt safe in his soothing embrace and didn't wish to push him away and yet she knew this was far from appropriate. Cassandra tried to wriggle out of his hold, his arms seemed to be built from iron for they wouldn't budge. The light garment she had worn had lifted from her milky thigh baring it as his bronzed muscular one was draped on it. And now she could sense something poking her back. Her eyes suddenly expanded from the realisation and Cassandra fully panicked. “Let go!” She voiced out, heavily. Siroos slowly lifted his leg and slackened his hold on her waist so she could shuffle away. He had awakened when she had stiffened for the first time but wished to behold what she would try. With eyes blown wide she stole a glance towards the man who had her wrapped in his embrace like a precious treasure, his treasure. His molten gold eyes had flickered open and there was this softness and want with which he stared at her. Those soft brown curls cascaded over his eyes as he forgot to blink, watching the timeless beauty that she was. Her one-of-a-kind fragrance was a torture to his senses. How he wished to grab her dainty ankle, pull her from it and have her sprawled underneath him. To kiss the very skin that oozed such scent which was driving him insane. Instead, he bent his arm and placed it under his cheek using it like a pillow to watch her with desire-filled eyes. The awkward lull between them prolonged as Cassandra cleared her throat. “Did you have to climb on me to sleep?” “It wasn't intentional but was certainly enticing and definitely won't be the last time.” His deeply hypnotic voice was even more alluring this early in the morning as it resonated all around her. The book cover is mine.

Valerie, the daughter of the murdered Alpha of the Yellow Stone Pack, could never lead the pack because she had a Luna wolf. Her mate, Tristan, was made the Alpha in her stead. After assuming the title of Alpha, Valerie was set up and brutally rejected, not only by Tristan but also her whole pack, and her kid sister, Scarlet, with whom Tristan had secret affairs. “I reject Luna Valerie as my mate. She was caught in bed with a stranger, meaning that she would sell the pack out. The punishment for treachery is death,” Alpha Tristan announced heartlessly. The chants from the pack members and visiting Alphas who had come for the Alphas' conference attracted them to the judgment. No one thought that Alpha Denzel, whose name caused the hairs on their skin to stand straight due to his ruthlessness, would make it to the conference. Valerie found hope when she realized that Alpha Denzel was her second chance mate, but painstakingly, she was rejected once again. The double rejection caused her to lose her wolf, and she was condemned to die by all the Alphas present. She thought her fate was sealed when Alpha Denzel left and a warrior was ready to execute her. Everyone was shocked when Alpha Denzel suddenly turned around. “Stop! A few months down the line, there was a war among the Alphas as they began to lay claim to the two-times-rejected Luna. With her wolf dead, will the moon goddess be gracious to give her another wolf?
