chapter 1 - The beginning

There was a great war between the great kingdoms, which was going on for last 2 years and millions had died in this magical warfare. A kid named ryujin had lost his family in the war and was about to be taken as a war hostage. But a brave man with crimson red hairs appeared out of nowhere and saved the kid's life. He trusted the kid's life to a friend of his named matsuda yoshikai in the village of Rusa. 2 months later the war was ended by a single man named Akimitsu Hoshi, who was then given the title of 16th aether king for bringing back peace to the world. This person was the one who saved Ryujin's life and thus Ryujin was inspired to become the aether king by the person who saved his life. He trained to achieve his goals and learned to use magic and sword techniques from the magical pre-school in his town. He was a quick learner and a genius, he excelled in the things that he was taught, though since Rusa was a small town there was limit to what he could achieve.

Matsuda: Ryujin you're now 16 years old and from today onwards you will be attending the magical school of Erzya at the city, and we will all be missing you. 

Ryujin: I will miss you all too, since we are not allowed to leave the campus for next 4 years. I will see you again in 4 years time. 

Ryujin sits in a carriage with his magical sword and begins his journey towards the magical school. there are around 200 students from his Town who are going to be attending the magical school. The magical school of erzya is one of only 12 magical schools around the kingdom, which are situated in every state. Every year around 100,000 students apply for the magical school of Erzya but only 10% of them can get into the school. This year was even more competitive because around 112,342 students had apply for the magical school and only 10,000 of them will have a chance to study magic from one of only 12 magical schools of the kingdom.

The carriage enters a deep and dark forest where all type of monsters roam around unattended, and because of this route the carriages of Rusa town were guarded by 100 state soldiers each having at least 3 stars or higher proficiency in magic. 

Everyone arrives at the magical school of Erzya, situated in the core city named Orville, the golden city. Some students start going towards their dorm rooms for some rest whereas some go towards the training room, since the magical school entrance exam starts in 10 days. Ryujin takes a look towards the academy and then comes back to his dorm room. He decides to meditate for some days in order to train his mana.

- 2 days later

Ryujin walks toward the training room to take a look at other students and their abilities. The training room is filled with bright students some being swordsmen, while some using spears, bows and many other type of weapons. There were also those who only used a staff and relied mostly on the magical powers instead of weapons. The students can challenge each other in the training grounds and check their abilities before the magical school's entrance exam begins. Ryujin wanders around the training camp and starts studying other student's magical techniques. He then goes towards the solo training rooms near the camp to train his sword techniques. 

A person with black hairs comes towards Ryujin and seems to be interested by his sword techniques, he asks Ryujin for a duel. The person is from a city in the east of erzya kingdom. He was using a spear and since no one in his village's preschool had used a spear, Ryujin was also interested in the duel. They both go towards the instructor and ask for the duel. As instructor announces the duel the crowd starts talking about the person, as he was the famous boy from preschool in a city in the east of Erzya and he was famous for hunting down a wild beast during his time at the preschool. His name was Akuma Koroshi. 

Everyone is interested in the duel. Instructor explains the rules of duel to both Akuma and Ryujin. Instructor: "fatal attacks are not allowed in the duel, Use of any outside help like from someone else or magical items such as mana enhancing artefacts is prohibited. Akuma and Ryujin agree to the rules explained by the instructor. Akuma wields his spear and Ryujin gets his sword out. The instructor commands for the duel to start, Moments later the battlefield is divided into two different environments, one side was covered into water because of Akuma's water magic and the other side had raging winds due to Ryujin's wind magic. The duel went on for a whole hour, Akuma used his water magic and spear techniques while Ryujin used his wind magic with his sword techniques, both of them were excited and were amazed by each other's powers despite both being taught by a commoner's preschools. 

Akuma: I have never faced strong wind magic like this in my lifetime. You are pretty strong.

Ryujin: I have also never faced such a refined water magic, now I can see why the crowd was excited for you to duel. 

Akuma had not challenged anyone for duel in last 4 days that he was at academy and rather watched others duel and learn from their mistakes.

In the end the duel was ended in a draw and crowd was shocked by the powers showcased by both Akuma and Ryujin. The instructor wished both of them good fortune for upcoming magical school entrance exam. Both Akuma and Ryujin returned to their dorms and decided to train their mana using meditation for the remaining 8 days before the entrance exam.
