Another two days passed, and while the outside of the castle was oblivious, the inside was eerily quiet, so quiet that it made one want to lower their voice when speaking.
Pearney hurried to find Ivan, bringing him a message, "What should we do? Billerie wants us to bring the Token and join him, then together, ambush and kill Sorcerer Toyennes."
A question mark surfaced in Ivan's mind. Considering the little green winged snake's behavior earlier, someone had clearly broken into the castle, causing substantial damage. If they were coming and going so freely, what was the point of having a Token?
And what was the reason he and Pearney had to go over?
"When?"
"Tonight."
"Will he come to meet us?"
"He didn't say, only that he would guide us to find him. That bastard is getting more and more out of line,"
Pearney said indignantly, feeling like she was being treated as a pawn, especially by that bastard Billerie.
