"So, what are you thinking of getting for lunch, Kil?"

"Not sure... What even is there?"

Both Ryu and Kil could now be seen walking through the academy's city grounds as they were looking around at all of the different stores that were built, and were all managed by hired professional employees according to what Ryu had told him. Ranging from electronic stores, food stores, restaurants, and more.

The classes had gone by pretty quickly as lunchtime had now arrived, so the two were trying to decide on what it was they were even going to have. With all the crazy number of options, the choice was incredibly difficult. Kil could also see many of the other students running around probably to get to a certain place for lunch or something else.

"Oh, there is everything in this school. You can find restaurants tailored towards pretty much every single country you can imagine, along with smaller shops for a quick buy and go." Ryu explained as they passed by the different shops. "We still have tons of time. So, how about we eat at a restaurant? They're all relatively cheap as well."

"I guess I don't mind... are they any good?"

"Hehe~, good isn't the way to describe them. More like amazing." Ryu chuckled, causing Kil to raise an eyebrow at him in confusion. Seeing this, Ryu further explained. "The thing about the restaurants here at Ashun is that they're all run by chefs who have worked at four or five-star restaurants and have moved to work here. There are even restaurants that everyone considers to be six or seven stars, though that's unofficial of course."

"Really...?" Kil muttered in genuine surprise. Just having a restaurant overall in a school was pretty insane already, though this was Ashun. He also was surprised by the ratings, he knew that the food must be good if this school's reputation was anything, but it was still mindblowing nonetheless. "It still must cost a decent amount, wouldn't it?"

"Trust me, most dishes that are served at these restaurants barely costs the same as an average burger you would buy at a fast-food joint." Kil just blinked as he heard this, maybe he should just get used to the insanity that was Ashun at this point... "Though, it can be even cheaper depending on where you stand."

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Well, I don't think you've been explained this. So, I'll take the responsibility and explain it while we look around." Ryu decided as Kil just nodded as he listened. "Students here are ranked, much like how a leaderboard works in video games and such. The higher ranked you are, the cheaper the items you buy here are. Example being that if you're high rank, you can dine free at certain restaurants."

"That's insane. But, can't they exploit such a system?"

"Yeah, everyone thought that at first. But, there is an incredibly high punishment if you do, do that as the school board highly frowns upon it." Ryu gave a nervous chuckle as he looked to the side. Kil saw this and had a bad feeling. "From what I've heard, there was this one student that took a group of friends around and ate at all kinds of places for free and also bought a bunch of things for them..."

"I'm guessing the school found out..."

"Yep... The punishment was that every single one of them was kicked out of the school instantly and all of them were forced to pay the full price for all the items that they had bought, with the cost of each of the items being equal to what they should be outside of school grounds... multiply that cost by four and that's how much each of them had to pay..."

Kil paled under his hood at this as he then nervously asked in a shaky voice. "H-How much was it...?"

"For each person..." Ryu seemed to pale as well before answering. "Probably around twenty-five million yen..."

"A-Anyway, I doubt anyone would do that anymore... so, let's move on!" Ryu laughed nervously as he wanted to break the awkward silence they had as they walked. Kil had noticed how a number of students heard the conversation they were having and also seemed to pale as well. "What rank are you on the rankings, Kil?"

"How do I check? I didn't even hear about it, remember?" Kil responded as he shook of his surprise about the topic they were speaking about before. Ryu gave an 'Oh~' before taking out a silver and black device from his pocket, the device appearing similar to a smartphone.

"You have a School Identification Master Pad, right?"

"That's an acronym for SIMP, but whatevs... yeah, I do."

"Yeah, a lot of us noticed that. As you already know, it allows us to check our schedules, it acts as our School IDs, and even allows us to call for services if our houses need anything done and more. It also allows us to check our grades... Oh, I should also tell you that we are graded on our tests, obviously, which we only have in Terms 2 and 4 near the ends."

"Then wouldn't we sophomores not have any ranks yet since we haven't had the tests yet?"

"We're different. Students who are entering into highschool have their entry examination tests counted into their rankings, and they are worth way more than the normal tests as there are literally fifteen of them. This is how I managed to get a higher ranking than most of the Juniors and Seniors here despite being here for a term. This isn't the same for if someone transfers into the school into a higher grade level, though it does apply for those transferring into the tenth grade, meaning us."

"Huh, I see..." Kil muttered as he took out his own SIMP device.

Yes, that's what we're calling it.

"So, what did you end up getting?" Kil decided to ask as he was actually setting up his whole device. He had yet to touch it yet since he was preoccupied with everything else, so he needed to set up all the necessary details as well as login into the school device with his assigned account. Ryu then showed him his device.

The fifteen entrance tests that they did had covered numerous different fields, basic ones such as Mathematics, Advanced Mathematics, Language Test written in numerous languages which they were luckily told to try and learn prior to getting the tests. As well as multiple other different fields for the different tests.

Musical talent was one that Kil didn't see on one of the tests, which he was told was an optional thing if the student wanted to pursue it or not. It would be kind of ridiculous even for Ashun if they made you do a test for every single field out there in the world.

"That's decent, though your Languages, Literature, and Commerce could use some work..."

"Yeah, I barely passed those..."

"You did perfectly in Sports and Fitness though." Kil complimented as he looked at the grades that Ryu had. From what he remembered of the tests, this kind of scoring that Ryu had achieved would make him easily able to ace any of the tests in normal schools. Which isn't surprising. "Did you do any kind of sports club?"

"Two kinds actually. I did Soccer and Tennis back in middle school" Ryu answered as he turned off his device. "I might join one this term, but I don't know. So, what did you end up getting?"

"Hold on... here we are." Kil spoke as he opened up a certain app. "Huh..."

"What's up?"

Ryu walked on over next to Kil before looking down at the screen of Kil's SIMP device, to which he then recoiled as his jaw dropped onto the ground. Kil just stared at the device with indifference on his face, though it wasn't like you could see it. What they were looking at justified Ryu's absolute shock

"Dude, what the hell?!"

"What?"

"How the heck did you get perfect in everything...?!" Ryu asked in both awe as well as disbelief as he snatched the device out of Kil's hands and stared while his body shook vigorously. Sweat was visibly running down the side of his face. "No one has ever gotten a perfect score for their entire entrance exam before in Ashun's records!"

"Is it that big of a deal?"

"Is it that big of a deal he says... yes, of course, it is!" Ryu comically yelled at Kil as the boy covered his ears, even his hood didn't manage to block some of the sound. "Not even Fujimara managed to get a score as high as you! This is totally insane..."

"Fujimara?"

"Fujimara Reika, she's the person that held the first place ranking, until you came into the equation that is. I don't know a whole lot about her since I've only been here for a term, but she's incredibly popular from what I've heard. She has never scored below ninety-five on any test aside from the entrance tests where she got scores between eighty-five and a hundred. She's in the eleventh grade here at Ashun. Everyone saw her as abnormally smart even for Ashun's standards since she managed to take hold of the ranking by the end of her first year here."

"I see..."

"That's all you have to say?"

"Do I need to say anything else?"

"You're impossible..."
