Resumen

'What a foolish moron I was..' I reflected as the spear pierced through my chest. Surveying the desolate city where our last battle unfolded, surrounded by the lifeless forms of my so-called 'comrades,' my gaze finally settled on the one who impaled me – the last living God, or rather, the sole survivor in this devastated world – Aurelia, The King Of Gods 'I should never have adhered to the plot.' Those were my final thoughts before consciousness slipped away, or so it was supposed to. Now, rewinding to the inception of it all – when I first transmigrated into 'my' body, or rather, Damon Blake's body. An overpowering side character in this novel's world. *** Transmigrating into a novel that concluded with a happy ending, where the protagonist saved the world, Damon dutifully followed the storyline, limiting his potential and aiding the main cast as dictated. Everything proceeded flawlessly until the clash with the ultimate antagonist – the king of gods himself. Unexpectedly, he unleashed a final card never mentioned in the novel, securing victory in the ultimate battle, claiming the lives of both Damon and the main cast. 'To hell with those fools. I've enough of them.' Given a second chance at life, Damon resolved to live on his terms. Disregarding the novel entirely, he committed to growing stronger rapidly, preparing to face the impending threats of the future without concern for the predetermined plot.

The King's Guard

"The beauty of a move lies not in its movement but in the thought behind it." -Aaron Nimzowitsch After a life of stress and detachment, Ryker Schofield finally graduates High School and jumps at the opportunity to get into a good college, moving into an apartment on the upper end of San Diego. However, it seems fate has different plans for him. After an encounter with a strange man on the morning of his first day, he's at a crossroads. Two fates lie before him: one that is certain and one that is the total opposite. One wrong step and he could lose the game before it even starts. Ryker never had any friends and he wasn't a social person. His foster dad didn't care what he did since he wasn't home the majority of the time anyway. Ryker had clawed his way to the top and he decided he wanted to try something else for a change. He decided he didn't want to be a pawn anymore. He thought he was going into some club that would help him with his life, maybe a group of nerds following some fake quest. He thought it was a joke, that the man had either been lying or insane. What he didn't expect was to be brought to a foreign country hidden in the pockets of the universe where magic, monsters, and royalty were alive and very much thriving. He didn't expect to be admitted into a group, called The King's Guard, which was weighed by the duty to protect the country and the King. But after he's given his first mission, he's determined to prove himself worthy of the title "Knight." Unfortunately, he miscalculated which side of the board he was on.

Samuel Ray

Samuel Ray walked out of his house waving to his neighbours. Getting into his car he stretched his six foot frame out behind the wheel. Moving away from his house and neighbourhood, little did he know it would be the last time he saw either of them. High in orbit above the earth, an unearthly craft was hiding among the satellites. It’s sleek black skin absorbs all light and energy that comes near it. A tall, blonde, human looking male nodded at the read out. “I think we’ve finally located the one on this planet that was giving off those energy readings.” “It’s about time!” A smaller in height and frame female replied. “I want all bio-scanners on this one this time. No mistakes like last time.” The female hissed. “I’ll remove more than an ear this time!” The male, a hand to the stub like projection from the side of his head, nodded. “All scans now active, directed at the subject.” The male said as clearly as he could. The female stood, walking up behind the male. “Hmmm, this one has more markers than any we’ve seen before. I’m so glad I suggested we come to this primitive place.” The male hid his face as he rolled his eyes. Her idea? Slightly shaking his head he wondered how she’d go on without him. Most of her ideas were actually his. A slashing to his back let him know he’d not heard the last thing she’d said. “You worthless piece of scum! I told you to get him!” The female growled. “I will mistress as soon as he stops moving! We don’t want a repeat of last time like on penal-one.” The male said as he wrenched at the pain across his back.
