The Pokédex beeped, and both Naruto and Anko aimed it at Gastly.
"*Gastly, Ghost and Poison-type Pokémon. It floats using its gaseous body, which can pass through solid objects. If someone is enveloped in Gastly's poisonous gas, they will faint instantly. Moves: Confuse Ray, Lick, Hypnosis, and Haze.*"
The mechanical voices provided concise information about Gastly's characteristics and abilities. Gastly's ability, *Levitate*, allows it to avoid Ground-type moves. While its moves seemed fairly basic, Fuji explained that *Haze*, a rare egg move, could reset a Pokémon's stat changes during a battle, which made it valuable.
"How's that? Still interested? If so, it's yours for 600,000 ryō," Fuji said, with a satisfied grin.
Kurenai blinked in surprise at the price but nodded. "Yes, that sounds fair."
For Kurenai, the price seemed reasonable, especially for such a rare Pokémon. Gastly's abilities and potential made it worth the investment, even though it was still in its early stages of growth. She couldn't help but wonder how powerful Gastly could become in the future, perhaps even rivaling the legendary creatures from the summoning realms like the toads of Mount Myōboku or the snakes of Ryūchi Cave.
While Fuji finalized the transaction, Anko suddenly pouted. "Wait a minute, why is Gastly more expensive than my Snivy?"
Fuji chuckled. "There are a lot of factors that go into pricing Pokémon, such as their rarity, potential, and appearance. Both Gastly and Snivy have similar potential, but Gastly has the ability to evolve further and grow even stronger. It can also undergo *Mega Evolution* and *Gigantamax*, which gives it an edge."
"But don't worry, Anko, I gave you both a discount. Pokémon are going to get more expensive in the future," he teased.
Naruto, always one to chime in, rubbed his chin in thought. "Is there really that much of a difference? Gastly seems way more special than Snivy, though."
"It might seem that way because Gastly is rare here. But Snivy is just as special, especially considering how few people have seen it before," Fuji explained.
Kurenai then asked curiously, "You sell the Pokédex and Poké Balls as well, right?"
Fuji nodded. "That's right. Both the Pokédex and Poké Balls are 1,000 ryō each. Want to grab a few?"
"Sure, I'll take one Pokédex and some extra energy cubes for Gastly," Kurenai replied.
Fuji quickly packed up the items and handed them over to Kurenai. "That'll be 10,000 ryō in total."
After the transaction, Kurenai hesitated for a moment before asking, "By the way, Fuji, I've been meaning to ask... where exactly do these Pokémon come from? We've never encountered creatures like this before. And what's the deal with their attributes and abilities?"
Fuji leaned back, clearly expecting the question. "Pokémon are creatures from another world. They have a variety of attributes—nineteen types in total—that are similar to the elemental nature of our jutsu. For example, Fire-type Pokémon can harness fire, and Water-type Pokémon can manipulate water."
"Using a move that matches a Pokémon's attribute gives them a power boost. If they use a move outside of their type, it's less effective," he continued.
Kurenai nodded thoughtfully. "So, it's kind of like how we use chakra nature transformations in jutsu. Different elements have their strengths and weaknesses."
"Exactly. It's a similar concept. And just like with ninjutsu, understanding the type matchups can give you a huge advantage in battle," Fuji explained further.
Naruto looked at Fuji, his eyes wide with curiosity. "So these Pokémon are from another world? Like the summoning realms where we get toads, snakes, and slugs?"
"Pretty much. You could say they come from a place that's similar to those summoning realms," Fuji said with a smile. It seemed that the more they learned about Pokémon, the more intrigued they became.
