20 One-night stand?

(Megan POV)

When I was driving, I know that I'm going to this banquet for only showing up, as one of the oldest partners called today. When we come to a place, I looked around, and as I could see that it's like always a party for the rich I smiled, and when I walked out, Joe followed me, and as we go inside without any invitation, I looked all-around of banquet sale, and as I was doing it mister Gomis come, and when I looked at him, I said "hello."

"Nice to see you," he said, and when we shake our hands, he looked behind me, and then he said, "oh, boyfriend?"

"No assistant," I said, and when I smiled at him, he nodded and moved to greet the rest of the guests. When we go deeper inside, many people started coming to me as they mostly recognized me from photos that leaked and haven't been deleted, as I like to keep my face hidden from the public.

When I was greeting them, I could hear that some people wanted to talk with Joe, but as he goes with my instructions, he hasn't talked at all. When he was like that many times, I could see unhappiness show on their faces. As I was going around from time to time, I take breaks from talking about business and collaborations, and when finally, after a long time, I had free time, Joe came closer to me, and then he said: "boss take some free time."

"I will do it when we will come back," I said to him, and when I drank a little juice, I come back to meetings. As it was slowly going I started feeling unwell, and when I was like that, I looked at people around, and then I continue to talk. When it was happening, slowly my legs started shaking. When this was happening, I could hear Joe's voice and his hand around my hips, which pushed me closer to him. "Megan, let's go away."

While hearing it, I looked at him, and as I wanted to scream at him, that he used my name, but I could see the concern which shows on his face. While seeing it I said, "OK," and when we goodbye he holds me on my side, and when we come to the car, we sit, and then he said, "Boss, I'm sorry what I have said, but you almost collapsed, and I needed to act as fast as possible."

"It will be the last time when you will do this," I said to him. When I looked at him, he nodded, and when he has done this, I drove back. When we come back home, I go directly inside my room slowly, as I had no energy, and when I lay on the bed, my phone rang. While hearing it, I answered without looking, and then I said, "yes."

"Megan, who is your boyfriend," mom said. While hearing it, I said, "nobody you know. You should know that I'm alone."

"Don't lie, my friend is now in Paris, and she saw you with men hugging?" mom said, and then she added after a few seconds "I have a photo too, so don't lie to me, or it's a one-night stand."

"Mom, it's my assistant," I said.

"And you are like that," mom said.

"No, he was concerned about me, and he acted like my boyfriend, don't worry, I have no feelings for him," I said to her.

"You know if you lie to me, you will be punished," mom said.

"I know, and I'm telling you that he is my assistant. You can check him if you want to," I said.

"Still" mom started saying, but as I don't want to hear anything, I ended the call, and when I muted the phone which was still calling, I fall asleep fast.

In the living room. (Joe POV)

When I sit for a long time still didn't understand why I have done this, I looked at the doors, and as the boss hasn't come out yet, I started being concerned about her. As I walked there, I opened the doors, and when I saw that she is sleeping there I come closer to her, and as I take her shoes off, I covered her with a blanket, and when I have done this, I go out.

When I have done this, I left shoes close to the doors, and I come back to the couch. When I sit on it, I started laptop one again, and when I have done this, I looked at emails, and while seeing nothing there new, I looked once again around, and as hunger rise in me, I walked to make something simple.

As I was doing it, I make soup from what was here, and as it takes me an hour, I had time to take a shower. When I had done this, and I walked out, I looked around, and as I walked to check how is soup going, I could see that vegetables still need some time until they will be ready.

While seeing it, I smiled, and when I have done this, I walked to the couch, and as I lay, I started massaging my knee as it slowly started hurting me again. When I was doing it for around ten minutes, I walked to check soup, and as it was almost ready, I waited for it, and as it was done I filled a bowl with it, and then I started eating. As I was doing it, the company phone started ringing. While hearing it, I looked that it's almost midnight, and when I walked to it, I answered, and then I said "hello."

"Who are you," a woman's voice comes.

"Might I know with who I'm talking now, and I'm assistant?" I said, and when I have done, this call ended.

When it happened, I looked at my phone, and as I was doing it, I didn't know what is happening, so I come back to eating. As I was doing it, I have done one portion, and when I added a little more, I have done this too, and when now I felt full, I walked to the couch and as I looked at is something there knew I couldn't see it.

While seeing it, I smiled, and when I have done this, I wanted to close it, but then an email comes. While seeing it, I looked at it and as I could see that its send from the boss email address, I opened it, and then I read, "call to this number".

When I looked at it, I started writing it, and as it was the same one who has called me a few minutes ago, I called it. When I have done this, I could hear, "so you are truly assistant."

"Yes," I said

"Good," she said, and when quiet come for a long time, I couldn't take it any more than after eating I started feeling sleepy. I said, "Madam, might I know the reason for this phone call."

"Yes, where is Megan," she said.

"Boss is sleeping now. She was over eighteen hours on her feet's," I said.

"OK, tell me your family background," she said.

"Might I know the reason?" I asked.

"I want to know who is working with my daughter," the woman said.

"Oh, I'm a normal civilian who had a little luck, and I have this job," I said.

"OK," she said, and when she hangs out, I looked at the phone, and when I take an old t-shirt, I put it on me, and like that, I close everything while turning the lights off, and when I lay on the couch, I fall asleep fast.
