Shinigamis all have their own unique zanpaktos, that are sentient weapons created by their souls, a shinigami's zampakto is their eternal partner in their extremely long lifes. There are rare shinigamis that can tap into the power of the evil souls ,known as hollows, that they hunt, those shinigamis are known as vizard.
