Chapter 1Prologue

I pushed open the door to the throne room.

Sebastian looked up from his throne with his eyebrow raised. A look of surprise on his usual emotionless face.

A moment of silence passed between the two of us.

I broke eye contact with him. Head down, I glanced at my new glossy shoes and the fancy ball gown I was wearing. Taking a deep breath, I walked towards him and sat on the smaller throne next to his. It was a throne made of pearl and marble. A throne for the Queen of Arerin.

"You can control water," he said in his usual cold and clipped tone.

"To a very limited extent."

"You should have plenty of time."

"I... I was dressing up."My voice became softer. Too shy, lack of confidence. The usual problem when I faced King Sebastian.

He was right, I could have been able to escape. Only he was trapped here. But I was sure even if he wasn't trapped, he would not leave his kingdom. He would stay here and looked at every bit of his kingdom fell into ruin like the King he was.

The fire was just around the corner when I entered the throne room. The air was getting hotter. Fumes sneaked passed the door.

"Leave, Liana."

My heart skipped a beat. It's the end of my life and I was happy he said my name? How pathetic I was. I tugged at the sleeves of my ball gown.

"There isn't enough time. And... I'm the Queen of Arerin. I'll stay here. With my King."

I looked up and met his ice-cold eyes.

"You control water."

"Only to a very limited extent."

The huge mahogany door erupted into flames. Fire danced outside the window.

"I can't escape now," I whispered. "That's the end."

I closed my eyes and tried to bear the intolerable heat and pain. At least I was one of the best dressed queens to be burnt alive.

A cold hand covered my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. I opened my eyes in surprise and stared into the calm eyes of Sebastian. Pain left me.

And everything turned into ashes.

I started reading this book under a different name at a different site. I'm glad its been reedited and put up here. Sébastien was so devoted , I mean there's nothing like dying together to show who is really for you. Also can't wait for the second and third half. Ariana was such a capable women. I loved how strong she was. I wonder how the ending will be changed if at all for the second book? I hope that the third book is as good as the first and second ones. Love the re-edits.

Ok so I binge read this novel and I'm caught up...and wanting more ^^*. So the novel's world is big and each arc is loosely tied by the environment but I look forward to the characters showing up in each others' storylines. I like the plot so far and the fact that the pace is rather fast. As the novel develops, I'm sure some of my questions will get answered. I can wait in the meantime to see what's next. To be honest, the FL not your typical come back reincarnation aka you thought she will be strong but then she’s actually not. It’s just that, she confuse with her own heart especially with how her fiance or husband after she come back~ it’s a nice novel and now curious how it will unfold

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this work. If you like bittersweet romance, this is for you ! The stories all have their own charm and the author has a brilliant way to express the MCs' emotions. The cliches/tropes/classics here are cleverly used. The only drawback I'd have to point out (and mind you, this is only my preference) is that the three MCs we follow are always dependant of the MLs. Let me explain : while I did love the three FLs, all of them were dependant on the strength/powers of the ML to survive/live. And don't get me wrong, I may have a weak spot for strong/OP FLs, but I also love some resilient, thoughtful but a bit passive type of FLs on the side. What I mean is that none of the FLs portrayed here were weak or terrible, they actually were very well fleshed out, but I would love to follow a strong/OP villainess who, for once, would be the one using her abilities to make the story advance, instead of having to depend on the ML's ones. BUT! This is a very minor drawback, and I'm a nitpicky B. so overall, a very good writing, loveable characters and good plotlines ! (On the other hand, if the author were to see this among the sea of reviews, I'd love for the next book to follow a mysterious or strong second FL who would be the one making the ML going crazy/asking himself questions <3) Anyways, keep up the good work !

I loved the way author wrote this story- especially the narrative style. It is definitely different from the revenge stories appears on webnovel. The novel has a good plot and it looks promising. The author is successful in depicting the emotions portrayed by the characters. Even the background world build up looks superb. I am looking forward for reading more. I'm still pretty early on, but I'm really liking the story. Its well written & the characters are interesting too. I was invested from the start by the prologue throws you headfirst into the action.

This is definitely an unique take on tired wrung out tropes that draws you in and refuses to let you go. Bittersweet and sad yet hopeful, I sometimes feel it's more of a redemption story for the ML that focuses on the 2nd FL. It's truly well written; the plots are engaging, the characters have wonderful depth as well as growth and the storylines are enthralling. Thank you author-dono, for this wonderful gem you are polishing for us so diligently.

I've only read the first two books, but I love both so far! The plot is well written and creative, without many cliches. The romance is very nice as well!

The stories are great. I find the characters engaging and developed. The plot is not too long and not too short with suitable developments. The writing very good. I think it conveyed the characters emotions very well. Especially with Lorelei and the God of Order.
