Ares.

Chapter 3.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
POV UNKNOWN.
It's been years since I've last heard a voice not filled with an unnatural sense pride... There was no... overwhelming superiority in the voice either.
'...What is this?' I asked myself. This feeling of being glued to this place has started to lift, alerting me even more. Just who the hell has the power to unseal me? My father is not one to make mistakes, his power is unmatchable even if all the Gods were to attack him at once, not a single one would harm him.
So whose strong enough to awaken me from my seal?
My eyes slowly opened and for the first time in millenniums, I saw a human. Though it was blurry and rather unclear, I could never mistake the layout of a humans body.
"-'er almost there! Keep pushing Bralled!"
Another voice... Feminine too. It was muffled but I heard it, there's more humans around here than I thought. I guess this seal is messing with my senses more than I expected.
"J-Just how much is this thing going to take! I-I'm reaching my limit!" A male voice this time. Are they the ones unsealing me? Are they Gods? I can't sense them yet... But if they are, that makes sense.
I wouldn't expect a human to be able to unseal m-
'Wait. Humans?!'
My thoughts were brought to a hold. The seal surrounding me began to crack at a frightening speed and it wasn't long before the seal shattered, bringing me back to the world that I, oh so wish had been forgotten.
GENERAL POV.
Sean stood his ground, the malicious intent slowly faded as the smoke began to settle, allowing him and his team to finally draw breath once again.
The sounds of his comrades collapsing to the ground as they gasped for breath, holding their necks as if it would run away if they let go, filled his ears. And that only served to irritate him more than he already was.
Taking a long deep breath, ignoring the moaning and groaning of the researchers, he gathered the courage and spoke. His stance gaining balance as his spear thrusted forward, ready to pierce who ever he lunges at.
"Speak! Who are you and where did you come from!" Seans voice gained the usual confidence it usually held after adapting to the situation. Though deep down, his body was still in awe and shock as well as fear from the power this being radiated.
"...Where is this?" Seans eyes widened hearing a boys voice, the power exerted beforehand left him assuming it was a stray rebel that escaped the eyes of the royal family.
Gulping down the vile saliva that formed in his mouth, Sean took a step forward signaling the other able guards to do so as well.
He wanted to be in control. And if he ended up having to fight this threat in front of him, he will die trying.
"Identify yourself!" Sean once again spoke. His voice no longer showing the fear he was hiding. The wind settled, the leaves began to float to the ground. The ragged and shaky breaths from the guards surrounding the seal was the only indication that the world had not gone silent.
"...My name, is Ares. The God Slayer." The smoke fully settled, revealing a boy with short cropped black hair covering his forehead. His clothing was destroyed, leaving only his bottom half clothed.
Seans eyes widened hearing the boys supposed title.
'God Slayer? Is he a rebel!? No idiot in their right mind would dare utter such words!'
Gritting his teeth in anger, he once again took a step forward, his spear closing the distance between him and the now identified Ares.
"Are you crazy? A God Slayer in this time and age?! That was millenniums ago! No one would dare utter such words of treason in public!" Sean shouted, slowly closing the distance.
As he inspected the boy, his eyes caught something that caused his eyes to widen.
'T-That marking... Is he an Apostle? No... It's to well developed... An Angel?!' His previous confidence began to crumble under the realization that he was confronting a possible chosen one.
"...Tch, you're sealed away for a couple millenniums and all of a sudden everyone goes senile... Whatever." Ares muttered, pulling Seans attention back to his eyes from his tattoos.
"Wha-" Sean's words were caught in his throat as Ares suddenly disappeared from his line of sight. Without a seconds hesitation, Sean spun around, his spear being held above his head as he leaped forward to make space.
But all of that was futile...
SHING!
"Guhk! W-What the hell?" Sean muttered in pain as his eyes shot towards his right shoulder... A sharp curved edge had pierced his shoulder. The pain wasn't what caught him off guard, it was his attacker.
"...Just give me the answers I'm looking for. I'd rather not have to kill my own kind." Ares voice sounded out from behind him. The obvious disinterest and lack of killing intent was more than enough proof that he wouldn't be able to handle Ares.
Sean eyed the other guards, witnessing their lost and dumbfounded expressions as their stances loosened up. He gritted his teeth.
'I can't believe these are the best Guards of Sapin...' Taking a deep breath, his body visibly relaxed, but that only caused Ares to tense up, he expected something to happen.
And his instincts were right.
Sean closed his eyes for a split second before they suddenly shot wide open, this time his once blue eyes shining a dangerous purple. An aura comparable to a white core mage flooded out of the man, causing his armor to fly off due to the sudden increase in pressure.
Ares squinted as he studied the changes. removing his golden scythe from the mans shoulders, he calmly stepped back and waited for the human in front of him to finish his power up.
'Hmm? A slayer mark? ...No, that's something else.' Ares thought, leaning on his scythe. The pressure exuding from Sean caused the other guards to snap out of their daze and finally realize what's going on.
They had a target.
And it's one their vice captain needed to go all out for.
