Chapter-5[Worried Family]

Kyle was thinking right, his entire family was worried about him because he told them when he came out of the dungeon, saying that he was going to meet Sophia, but he never came back and hadn't even informed them, making them worried.

[Flashback, When Kyle was in the Dungeon]

In an apartment building away from the gates, in an apartment on the middle floors near the elevator, two people sat at a dining table with a worried expression on their face, with one of them being a middle-aged woman, looking to be in her 30's, having black hairs, and brown eyes, while the other one just looks like her but younger, around 18 or 19 years old, both of them showed worried expression right now.

The older one, Ariana, is Kyle's mother, while the younger one, Emma, is Kyle's younger sister. They both are worried cause Kyle told them he is coming back in around 2 hours after he came out of the dungeon, but it's been more than 4 hours and he hadn't come back yet making them worried.

Ariana looks to be in her 30's younger than her actual age having black hair and black eyes. Same as her mother, Emma also has black hair and black eyes but her eyes had a tint of red in them which could only be seen if one looked attentively.

Kyle is always caring for his family, he works hard in the dungeon, even if they are low tier so that his family could live a happy life without any worry, while also paying tuition fees for himself and his sister, he studies in the general department, where the fees are lower, while his sister studies in the Hunter Department, to fulfill her dream of being a hunter, making Kyle pay more money, but he never said anything, he always felt fulfill seeing the smile on his family's face.

Kyle is this much caring towards his family because he saw how his mother raised them, working many shifts just to pay for them to study and give them good food to eat, no matter how much hard work she had to do. As for the Father, he left them when Kyle turned three years, and his mother never told them the reason, making Kyle hate him for leaving them, and when he saw his father again 7 years ago, all he showed was hatred to him, and his father left, staying for not even a day, and not telling him the reason, which makes him hate his father even more.

Kyle becomes a Hunter at the age of 17, because he activated his first skill [Fireball] at that age, making him quite popular along with his looks, and the reason for him being disdained by other hunters is also that. Kyle quickly started to explore the dungeons, low-leveled ones, and become Lv10 in just a month, making him earn the title of [Elite Rookie] but it was then his growth stagnated, not able to level-up anymore, no matter how much he killed, he trained, making others release their frustrations on him. And not able to level up for three years, he was given the title of [Eternal Ranker], staying at the same rank for eternity.

But he still worked hard, he was one of the weakest, but not the weakest, so he was able to make enough money for his family to live happily.

This is the reason why his mother and sister are more worried, cause he always calls them if he is ever going to be late or something but they received no call from him this time or even any message and he isn't even picking up his phone, making them think of the dungeon, cause there are no signals in there.

Kyle's little sister, Emma took her smartphone and called a number while turning towards her mother who put on a questioning look, as Kyle hadn't answered the calls before.

"Mom, I am calling Sophia, Big brother said that he was going to meet her before."

Kyle's Mother, Ariana nods her head, while her face is still full of worries, 'Did something happen?! but that he said that there should be no danger on the kids! Just Why do my kids have to suffer because of my mistake.....'

"Yes, please call her, she may know about him."

Emma nods, and the call connected, and Sophia's voice came from the other side, in a questioning tone as the number to her show is unknown,

{Note- For the Phone call, I am using " 'Hello' " as a symbol.}

" 'Hello?' "

"This is Emma."

Emma said, as this is the first time she called Sophia, actually she really doesn't even want to talk to Sophia because she thinks that Sophia is partially the reason that her brother started to spend more time in the dungeon, making him have more hardships.

" 'Ah yes E-Emma, what h-happened?!' "

Sophia asked in a panicked tone, remembering what happened today.

Emma hearing her tone become suspicious, 'Did something happen..? Does she know where big brother is?'

"Do you know where Big Brother is..?"

" 'He hadn't returned yet?!' "

A panicked voice filled with worry answered Emma's question, making her feel even more suspicious, 'She definitely knows something!'

"No! Tell me if you know where he is! both mother and I have been waiting for him for quite some time, he sad that he was going to meet you, but it has been more than 4 hours since he called!"

On the other side, Sophia becomes silent, not knowing how to answer or even tell about what happened today, 'Wait! I could ask Father for help, and then say my apologies to Kyle!'

" 'I-i don't k-know...he never c-came to m-meet me!' "

Again, a panicked voice answered, but Emma is not going to buy that answer, she knew how much her brother loved Sophia, and she also somewhat knew that Sophia loved her brother, but hearing Sophia like that made her sure that something really happened and asks but her voice is intimidating and full of anger, after all the absence of her brother affected her the most,

"I am saying this to you last time! tell me if something happened!"

Sophia silently started to cry on the other side, 'I-if something h-happens t-to h-him then!?'

Emma not getting any reply gritted her teeth, but she slowly heard the sobbing of Sophia, making her stop her actions, 'What happened!? why is she crying...no! don't tell me something happened to....'

Emma become more worried, and negative thoughts came to her mind, and tears started to gather in her eyes, but she quickly wiped them, and turned to her phone, asking in her tone filled with worry this time,

"Please, Sophia! tell me where is Big Brother....."

Ariana looks at Emma and hearing her tone, tears gathering in her eyes, her heart sank, as the worst outcome made its way in her heart, something she never wants to happen, 'NO! There is nothing like that!!

On the other side, Sophia hearing Emma's voice felt her heart feel more guilty and more worried, thinking about what to answer, but she decided to answer the truth,

" 'I-i he came to he university today....b-but a f-friend of m-mine said to p-prank h-him...' "

Sophia then told her everything that happened today, while Emma turned her phone to the speaker, letting Ariana also hear everything.

As Emma hear more and more, tears poured from her eyes, same with Ariana, they both knew just how much Kyle loved Sophia but hearing but she did, makes them more worried for him...

"I am saying this now! but if something happened to Big Brother! I am going to make your life the worst you could think of!!"

Emma said in anger as tears poured from her eyes, she can't believe that someone could do something like this, what prank?! she can't even imagine what Kyle had to go through just hearing something like this when she herself felt bad, and anger in her too much.

Sophia on the other side sobbed, even more, releasing her mistake more and more,

" 'I-I am s-sorry...sob..' "

Ariana took the phone, while tears poured from her eyes slowly, and asked with a calm tone, which was filled with anger,

"Just why? why would you do something like this..? Do you find it funny to play with his feeling?"

Emma saw how her mother's hands are shaking right now, she quickly went towards her and hugged her, while saying in a somewhat forced calm tone, while patting her back,

"Please calm down, Mom.."

Ariana nodded a little, as she took deep breaths, calming her rising anger a little which failed, hearing the voice on the phone,

" ' I a-am s-sorry, m-mother...sob..' "

"Don't call me mother!! If something happened to my son then!!!"

Ariana immediately burst out, shocking even Emma as she had never behaved like this, but Emma understood that Ariana should be even more worried than her, as a love of a mother is something she can't understand.

Emma quickly went to the kitchen and took a glass of water and returned, giving it to Ariana,

"Mom, please drink it, and calm down a little."

Ariana nodded, and took the water, drinking it in one go, she knew she had to remain calm headed, but when Sophia called her mother, which she liked to hear before, but when she heard it now, she only felt disgusted and angry, causing her to burst out like that.

Meanwhile, Emma canceled the call, cause all they were hearing is Sophia repeating 'I am sorry.' again and again.

"Mother, let's wait for Big brother, we should have some faith in him. If he doesn't return in a day, then we will file a report."

Ariana shook her head immediately, as she knew that there may be, no she is sure that there are many dangers in the dungeon which could kill someone easily.

"No! let's go and report right now!"

"Mom! calm down, they are only going to search after a day so we are only wasting our time. We should wait for Big Brother here!"

Ariana hearing that calms down a little, as she sat on the table, while her head was in her hands. Emma saw that went to the chair beside her while hugging Ariana and at the same time patting her back and saying in a forced calm tone,

"Everything is gonna be fine, Mom..."

Ariana nodded while resting her head on Emma's shoulder, but her worry never disappeared, 'Why can't I live in peace with my children....is the sadness the only thing I am going to get in my whole life...?'
