As the car drove through the gates, Shiro couldn't resist the temptation. She peered through the window, staring in awe at what she saw. They were driving through a long gravel driveway surrounded by lush grass and towering trees. To the sides were water droplets that would float up to 6 feet and fall back down on the other side of the driveway making it seem like a road in the middle of a river.
If you look closely, there were many sculptures, covered in twisting vines and sprawling plants, but anyone with half a brain could tell that those were the Subaru defense systems.
Shortly, they stopped before another large gate. Through this one, however, the house could be partially seen.
"Over there, that's the Subaru magic defense," Riko pointed at the huge white magic array over the house. "There's a special artifact that protects the house from outsiders, and even a strong Ability user couldn't barge in without sustaining considerable injuries."
Shiro was mesmerized by this, but Isakawa just frowned frustratedly. It wasn't possible for a mage to cast such a high class defense spell unless they were an SSS Class hero, or it might be an artifact. It would be much more difficult to deal with the Subarus than he thought.
As the second gate opened for them, the car rolled forward into what seemed to be a parking lot, with many expensive cars in various colors and brands. Some of them weren't even out on the market yet.
Everyone in the car got down as Sally, along with another servant, picked up their bags. As Sally lifted them out, they began to float.
"Welcome back to the Subaru household, Isakawa Subaru and Riko Subaru." a pretty maid greeted them. She seemed more like a butler than a maid since her uniform was that of a butler's, but with a pencil skirt.
The beautiful dark woman looked at them with bright yellow eyes, grey hair flowing down to her shoulders. She was quite tall for someone in their 20s, but had a very beautiful face and figure. Her slim waist was perfectly aligned with her uniform, but her breasts, proportionally, were smaller than average. She wouldn't lose to Sally when it came to looks.
Sally just snorted silently. It was obvious this lady had a higher position than her, so she had to keep her cool.
"I'm Kena, and I'll be the butler of Isakawa Subaru during his stay here," She announced to them, politely bowing.
"And I'm Lucas, I am to be the butler of Riko Subaru," a young man's voice said softly as he popped up behind Kena.
He looked exactly like her, but a handsome male version with a well-built body. His yellow eyes flashed with excitement as he saw Isakawa.
With their luggage floating behind them, they were escorted to the front door of the house. They stood before a huge black door, two obsidian pillars with light blue crystal carvings on them at each side. Shiro couldn't even tell how tall the house was, or even how wide it was. As she looked left and right, all she could see were endless walls that stretched into the distance. Maybe she was just too short and small. The door slid open automatically for them as they walked inside, only to be met with a further surprise.
Entering the house, Shiro's eyes met with a huge sculpture, up to 10 feet tall with two white dragons on each side. Shiro raised her head up where they were standing, and the next floor was up to 24 feet. Her eyes were still locked upon what she saw on the roof. A floating orb in the shape of crystals was floating around the room, providing light for them to see.
Any normal person's head would be spinning. You can't tell if it's a fantasy or sci-fi home.
It was more like a palace than a villa. You couldn't expect less from one of the most famous households in the world. That was just the corridor, so they continued to walk to the next room and that's when Shiro and Tael had to stop being distracted by the house.
As Isakawa and his family entered the grand hall. An intense pressure filled the room. Shiro felt a little scared, but she had to keep her head up. Same for Sheila and Krumi. Shiro just took a look at the Grand Hall and wanted to jump around in ecstasy, but she had to keep her childish instincts in, so as not to cause her father any worry.
The grand hall was a huge room with three huge chandeliers made of glowing white crystals. The floor was filled with beautiful, expensive-looking grey tiles, with black curtains on every window around the room.
There were no chairs, so everyone had to stand. Kena and Lucas stopped moving, and it seemed that something was about to happen.
Everyone mainly glared at Isakawa with aggressive eyes; almost like they did not want to see him, and yet they were also rather jealous of his looks.
There were about 25 families in the room. And about 56 people there.
"What is that bastard doing here?" Someone whispered threateningly.
"What's shocking is that he's still alive."
"What's more he has a wife and a child."
A man then walked up to Isakawa with a weird grin on his face.
"It's good to see you again, my dearest little brother," he placed one hand on Isakawa's shoulder, with a smile on his face.
"It's good to see you too, Big brother Matsuba," Isakawa responded, politely removing his sibling's hand from his shoulder.
Matsuba Subaru, Isakawa's third eldest brother. He had short, bob-cut black hair, and a pair of slim, smart dark grey eyes that were both full of life, and somehow made him look threatening. He was 6'2 - almost the same height as Isakawa, but he was much more muscular than Isakawa.
He wore a dark black suit, with a long black cape that brushed over his stylish black office shoes as he walked.
"It seems the cotton candy has grown quite well," he teased.
"And it seems my mushroom head brother has also grown," Isakawa retorted.
"What the hell did you just call me?" Matsuba roared at Isakawa with an irate expression.
"I called you a mushroom head. What are you going to do about it?" Isakawa said provocatively, hands crossed and eyebrows raised in anticipation.
In a flash, Matsuba's hands were right in front of Isakawa's face, almost like he wanted to grab it, but unfortunately, Isakawa's reflexes were too fast.
Isakawa immediately appeared behind Matsuba, and he was about to experience the unexpected.
He could feel his stomach being stabbed by Isakawa's hands and quickly jumped back, his cape fluttering behind him.
He quickly checked his stomach to see if he had actually been stabbed, but he was perfectly fine. He then quickly glanced around the room and spotted Isakawa, standing across the room, smirking.
'What the hell was that?' He thought to himself and he felt a chill down his spine. 'Were my instincts warning me?'
'Yes, that wasn't normal. How could I forget this brother if mine was never normal in the first place,' Matsuba thought worriedly.
"You guys should stop acting like children," one person warned as he straightened up his glasses.
"But, brother Takase!" Matsuba whined as he stared at a man with a green tuxedo embroidered with diamonds and some jewels.
Takase Subaru, Isakawa's second eldest brother. A tall and fair young man with a height of 6'3. His hair was dark black, with his front hair shaped like an M, leaving two bangs at each side up to his cheeks. His hair was tied up neatly in a high ponytail, which was long - up to his back, at least. And his sharp grey eyes stared at Isakawa as if he was trying to appraise him. He straightened up his blue stylish glasses, matched with his blue boots. Second born son of the family head.
"I find it meaningless to quarrel, especially with someone like Isakawa," he grunted as he looked at Isakawa with discontent. His eyes shifted as he saw the beautiful little girl beside Isakawa who was gripping her father's hands tightly.
When he stared at the child he had this strange feeling creeping behind him.
"Could you quit staring at my daughter with those ugly eyes of yours?" Isakawa warned as he released an intense pressure in the room. Everyone in the room could feel a heavy weight being laid on them. Some stood their ground and others fell on their knees they almost couldn't breathe and as they stared at Isakawa they could see his cold blue eyes glowing as a huge blue aura surrounded him.
"That's enough!!" a voice boomed across the grand hall as all eyes laid upon him. At the top of the stairs stood an old man with a long wooden stick and stood in an upright position. He wore a light grey shirt with a pair of black trousers. His slate-grey eyes looked down on everyone he saw, but he mainly paid attention to his fourth son, Isakawa Subaru. That person was the current head of the Subaru family - Goshi Subaru.
"Welcome back, my dear Subaru family. As you all know we all gathered here for a purpose," he greeted with a straight face.
"It's a pleasure to see you too, Sir!" Everyone greeted each other in harmony except for Isakawa and his family.
"We have all gathered at the main house today to carry out an event that has been with our family for generations. The Subaru Family Games. Since you all came from such far places, you shall take two days of rest. After that, we shall begin the games."
Everyone in the room started to clap for Mr. Goshi Subaru with happy smiles on their faces, but their children had grim looks.
Goshi Subaru walked down the stairs heading in Isakawa's direction. His long grey and black striped hair fluttered as he walked and his shrewd grey eyes were fixed on Isakawa. He was a man in his 50s, but his body said otherwise. He was muscular and fit, and you could clearly see his abs against his shirt since it looked a little tight. What's more, his skin was fair, with only a few wrinkles on it.
"It's a pleasure to see you again, father," Isakawa inclined his head respectfully, his face portraying no emotion.
"Same for you, Isakawa. And who's this little angel? Almost like you," Goshi said as he saw Isakawa's daughter.
"What's your name?" He looked down at her kindly.
"It seems that this old man is trying to target Shiro," Alka spoke to herself.
"I'm Shiro Subaru," she answered quickly. "It's nice to meet you, Mr. Subaru," Shiro greeted politely but not with a smile. She didn't like his aura, though she did not know why.
"You have a wonderful family, Isakawa," Goshi Subaru complemented.
"Thank you, father," Isakawa replied.
"You should all get settled down and enjoy yourselves. The family games shall begin in two days. Your children better be prepared," Goshi Subaru directed as he left the hall.
Isakawa, Jennifer, Shiro, Tael and Sally were all escorted to their designated rooms, where they would stay for the family games. But here they received another shock again. After walking through the halls, they were led to another elevator, but this one was different. As they all stood on it, Kena typed some numbers on the keypad that appeared in front of her, and they quickly disappeared and reappeared in front of a room door.
"This is where you and your family will be staying, Mr. Isakawa," Kena told them politely.
When Kena opened the door, Shiro was looking confused. They clearly said room, so why does the entire place look like the ground floor of a mansion? The room was amazingly spacious, and in the middle of the room there was a living room, a beautiful blue hologram projector surrounded by a long white couch chair. Shiro was more surprised when she realized the couch was floating.
"Looks like the Subaru family is pretty loaded huh," Shiro thought with a blank face.
