Return of the Unknown Swordsman (WSA Submission Version)

Please note that this novel is fictional, and as such, the characters and organizations within are merely the subject of the author's intellectual devices. The year is 1009 A.D. Huanzhi Ren is the Unknown Swordsman, an assassin with over 37 years of experience in murdering adversaries. He has been the death of countless young warriors, 1200 to be exact. Among those who have fallen to his blade is even the former king, Qinluo. This man is considered by many to be a villain. His closest companion, you ask? A man named Suntao. His blood brother since abandonment. Huanzhi, also called Zhi or Zhi-zhi, has the aspirations to be the greatest warrior the martial arts world has ever known. By the way, screw all of these titles, I'm not gonna lie... that's pretty long to remember. "The Greatest Warrior the Martial Arts World Has Ever Known." Think that fits on a name tag? Hell no. In any case, Huanzhi is told of a pill by his blood brother that is rumored to give the absorber of it the amount of qi cultivation of 89 years of isolation training. The only problem? It's guarded by some of the greatest warriors to walk the realm... and Zhi-zhi can't fight with his right arm. Just before dying from his wounds from a fight with Lu Gongfen "The Falling Lotus Petal" (Seriously man, who names these stupid titles), Zhi regrets all the vile acts he has committed. As such, he is given a second chance at life. A chance to redeem himself. The only problem? It's 2023, and he doesn't have a blood brother around to keep him in check. Thank you for taking the time to read this pathetic little excuse of what I consider a novel. AND FOR GOD'S SAKE SOMEONE LEAVE A REVIEW FOR ME! I'M CHOKING ON MY LATE NIGHT COFFEE AS I WATCH THE READS. Updated Regularly (Usually every 2 days). Enjoy, and if you don't... Zhi-Zhi'll be after you soon... Don't you worry. I'll call him off.

The Divine Fists of Heaven, Pt. 2

"What the f*** did you just say, shrimp?" The obese man spoke menacingly as he loomed over Yijin. Yijin smiled and spoke a different statement instead of repeating his past statement. "I said, shut up and fight me, you morbidly obese piece of human garbage." Yijin stepped back as he said this and created distance between himself and the man.

The obese man growled as he heard the words coming from Yijin's mouth and entered a low stance with bent index fingers that made his hands look like claws.

"Divine Fists of Heaven, eh? Then why are you going into the Tiger Cliff Stance." Yijin spoke. He entered the stance of the Soul of the Unknown Swordsman with a grunt and watched as the obese man's eyes widened. "What-... H-H-Huanzhi? Shit! Run!" The man's baritone voice snarled as he opened the door he had come from and went around back. Yijin dashed quickly and kicked the door from its hinges as Juanbei watched from across the street. Yijin stepped forward and saw the obese man with an army of thugs, almost forty men.

"Are you prepared to die, Huanzhi Ren?" The obese man mockingly chuckled.

"You will soon find that you will be the ones having to be prepared to die. Welcome back to the land of the living, Guang-di Fei. I've taken your life before, and I could easily do it again, you cowardly dastard." Yijin spoke with an air of confidence. There was a metallic pipe leaning against the walls of the back door of the building. Yijin grabbed the thin piece of metal and ripped it from the bolts. His hands were unharmed, and he had not given the slightest bit of effort.

"What the hell?!" Yelled one of the goons assembled as he charged forward at Yijin. Yijin sighed as he began his rampage.

He slammed a flurry of blows on the oncoming attacker and sent him to the ground unconscious with a heavy blow to the temple. Yijin then grabbed the man's plank and threw it with force at another oncomer. The man fell to the ground with the plank embedded in his shoulder. "Goddamn it! Kill him already! Swarm him!" Shouted Guang-di Fei.

Ten of the enemies approached rapidly as Yijin slammed his pipe across each of their faces and slammed a kick into the last man's chest. Yijin scoffed as he created Qi Shadow Slashes. The images of the dark blades encircled Yijin in all of the cardinal directions, and Yijin released them with all the Qi he could muster. Talk about taking Assassin's Creed to the next level.

The shadow slashes released and flew through each and every soul, but Yijin had held back his attack to not kill Guang-di Fei before he could get a chance to talk to him. The opponents flew through the air with blunt wounds as Yijin's pipe shadow slashes banged into each one of their bodies.

"The monster has returned. Huanzhi Ren has begun his reign of terror once more." Guang-di Fei stared at Yijin in fear as his hands came to his mouth. The carnage he had just witnessed was akin to what occurred in Guang-di Fei's previous life. He shouted as Yijin approached him, pipe still in hand. "Stay away from me! Bastard child of the devil! Stay as far away from me as possible!" Guang-di yelled as he held up a machete. His eyes were wide and bloodshot as Yijin made a single movement and sent his weapon flying sixteen meters. "Shit! No! Not again!"

Yijin stepped forth. "You are an executive of Lu Gongfen's Kanling Gang, right Guang-di?" Yijin asked.

"Y-Wait, what? No, I am not an executive. I am a part of his gang, indeed, but I am a mid-ranking member." Guang-di trembled as his voice shook during his speech.

"I don't believe you, you fat arse." Yijin stated and lifted his weapon. He brought it down on Guang-di's forehead and imbued the blow with Qi. Guang-di's skull caved in as he fell to his knees and collapsed dead. Yijin felt no remorse as he dropped his blunt weapon and walked off. He changed his clothing inside and exited wearing a different hoodie so as to not appear as himself, who had just killed a man in cold blood. He walked out and entered Juanbei's academy once more.

"The deed is done, master. It turns out they were from Kanling Gang in the first place. It's probably why they chose to bother you in the first place."

"Yijin, I didn't tell you the whole story. You know me, I am a rather weak Physical Qi Cultivator but a great mental cultivator. Well, the thing is..."

"Yeah, I guessed as much. They forced you to tell me to go to their academy and pick a fight with them. I know you wouldn't want to send me to destroy another school. Your honor is much more important to you than just a silly paycheck."

"Right... The paycheck is still important, too..." Juanbei said quietly as Huanzhi monologued for a moment about Juanbei's honor. Oh, how dignified and oh, how well mannered. Well, at least you know the truth. Yijin sat down with Juanbei, and the two began to converse further.

"Were they not strong enough for you to use your Dark Qi on them? I can see that you are still rather well in control of your consciousness compared to usual."

"I mean, I let myself go for a moment. But, it wasn't long enough for the dark spirit within me to realize that I had done so in the moment."

"Surprising, isn't it Yijin? But tell me, just who is this spirit that haunts you so?"

"That I cannot tell you, Master Grandson. That I cannot tell you."

"And, pray tell, why is that Disciple Grandfather?"

"For you cannot fathom just who is the being inhabiting my subconscious. You cannot understand just how powerful he really is."

"Then who is he? Just tell me..." Juanbei said in frustration.

"Xiangliu... The messenger of Gonggong and the Flooder of Szechuan."

"Stop joking, you ancient prick, and tell me."

"You believe that I am lying, but that is the truth."

"There is no way. It is utterly impossible. How could Xiangliu be unable to corrupt your consciousness when, in this life, you are a sixteen year old boy?"

"I believe Qi is transferrable within bodies. That's why Guang-di Fei was able to reincarnate and still have his ancient powers in a morbidly obese man's body."

"That is a wild shot in the dark, but perhaps you are right. Perhaps you are right."
