IV: Killer sword technique.

When Seone reached the house courtyard, he saw his adoptive father, an older man with gray hair, a scraggly beard, and a playful expression. He was standing near a tree stump with a huge sword in the middle.

It was a broad-looking weapon, with a square, double-edged point and a hilt that allowed two-handed use. It looked quite heavy, and Seone thought he saw a strange bloody halo hovering around the sword. His father wielded it and lifted it with one hand, quite easily.

"You already have the basic knowledge of how to use a sword, so for the first two weeks, we'll reinforce the basics. If you impress me enough, I will teach you the technique I have been working on for 40 years, I will even call it "Killer Sword" HAHAHAHA," the man laughed as he approached Seone.

With every step he took, a strange feeling emanated from the man, a strong pressure that made Seone's heart flutter, his body began to tremble as he felt a phantom weight all over his body.

"No one wants to die, so it's common for an inmate to try to escape, so an enforcer must know how to immobilize them, so we use something we call 'impulse'. It's not something from magic mambo jambo or the aura of warriors, no, it's something that every human possesses.

Likewise, impulse can change depending on the person, a king has a majestic impulse that makes nobles submissive, a general can make his subordinates more disciplined, a gangster can instill fear... an executioner like me can make an ordinary person immobile," the old man said as he stood next to Seone, then held out his hand that held the sword.

"If you can take my weapon while I keep my momentum on you, it means you have a talent for it. Even if you already know the basics, if you can't get rid of my momentum, you'd better go to the monastery and become a priest," the man said seriously, staring into the terrified eyes of his adopted son.

Ordinary people were at a disadvantage against the mystical powers of a mage or the carnal power of a warrior or knight, but ordinary people had their ways of fighting, their ways of accessing the extraordinary.

Seone didn't know it in this world, he fought against the strange pressure that immobilized him, but if he could impress this supposed adoptive father, maybe he could learn, and that knowledge, mixed with his spin, would form the basis of what he would become in the future, if he survived, of course.

Move, you have to move, you have to fight,' Seone thought urgently as he tried to command his body and make it obey. It wasn't a supernatural force acting on him, hadn't you ever felt overwhelmed in front of your angry mother, your boss, or a teacher? Only this time it was a thousand times worse.

As he tried to move, his mind wandered back to the last moments of his previous life, to the moment when he had picked up the gun in fear and raised it to his forehead. He still remembered the coldness of the barrel against his temple, still remembered the flash of white before everything went dark.

He killed himself, why was he afraid now, why did his body fail when he fled from the molten aberrations of the sun? He cherished his life, he cherished his chance to live, even if it was in such a macabre and cruel game, so he wanted to live, but this longing somehow made him mentally weaker.

If you want to learn how to kill, you have to be willing to be killed," when he came to this strange realization, his body reacted and he soon found himself holding the heavy sword. His body was out of shape, but with the knowledge he had inherited, he quickly adjusted his stance and breathing smoothly, bringing a smile to his elderly father's face.

"Well, you seem to have come to the realization of our profession as executioners. We kill, but they can also kill us, never forget that and act accordingly. Now I'm going to train you and see if you can get me to teach you the really good stuff," the old man said with a smile that somehow made Seone shiver.

...

"Well, Seone is here, albeit late," Marie said as she saw the boy approaching them. She recognized him by the gesture he made, a password agreed upon for this moment.

"I'm sorry, but I just trained, and... my whole body hurts," Seone lamented to them, justifying his tardiness in passing.

The truth is, although we didn't have a training montage, at least for now, this week was both painful and fruitful for Seone. His adoptive father, Tom, was a very good teacher, but he was a brutal one, and well, not that the art of the executioner is known for its softness or simplicity, so he had to not only train but learn why he did things and the reason behind them.

Heck, he even started studying anatomy, at least the part of the anatomy that told you where to hit or cut to cause a quicker death. Which is why Seone almost missed the meeting time.

"Well, don't worry, at least you made it, not like one of us... looks like he got killed, you know if you ask your watch on the first day, you'll understand the ruckus that went on in town," said one of the group members, making the atmosphere a little heavy.

Oh, of course, Seone was asking questions, many of them, and he knew why things had gotten murky so quickly, which was also why he kept his hands in his pockets, holding two small steel balls. When his teammates got funny with him, he would let them know why Spin was so good at fighting.

Here are some of the most important questions he asked and the answers he gave.

"What happens if I survive the year in this place with enough points?"

[Qualified survivors are rewarded based on the number of points they earn. The more points, the more luxurious the rewards, though there will only be 3. Two of them are random but within a high-value range. The other is getting a true reincarnation].

"Explain true reincarnation."

[You will be able to choose a specific "universe" to be reborn in, and that's as far as it goes if you only have points for that option. You will be reborn as a baby with your memories intact. Also, your golden finger will accompany you, and everything you learn during the Battle Royal will be engraved in your soul, including muscle memory, perceptions, special abilities, etc. Of course, if you were able to get them, the Battle Royal will teach you that not everything comes easy, and you can't get power just for the sake of it].

"Does true reincarnation have choices? Like choosing your family or your appearance?"

[Only if you get enough points will you be able to choose things, because it would change this world profoundly to allow you to do that. With enough points, you can choose even more profound changes to that world, but you cannot choose things that would seriously alter the balance of that universe. Example: With enough points, you can design an Albino Saiyan, but you can never choose a specific bloodline, it will only be a low-class Saiyan, that is the limit].

"Can reincarnation give me access to powers that only some people have, like magic or something?"

[With enough points, yes, but not beyond those basic abilities, an example would be if you chose to be reborn as a demon in High School DxD, you would be born without a bloodline like the Bael Clan's 'Power of Destruction'. But if you choose to be born in the Harry Potter universe, you can choose to be born as a wizard, although you won't have those bloodline abilities like Paseltonge].

"Can someone transmigrate into the body of someone from those universes?"

[Yes, but you can't choose the protagonist because of the influence of the will of the world, sure, we can do it, but it wouldn't be interesting. This type of reincarnation is cheaper because you don't have to make too many changes, but it's not highly recommended, you won't be able to own those characters with superior abilities, although if you reincarnate into a genius, the soul-body influence will affect you, as well as if you choose a mediocre being. But to choose, you have to pay more points].

"How many points does it take to qualify for the Battle Royal and these reincarnation methods?

[We will only tell you the first part of your question, telling you more would ruin the experience. You need 10,000 points. Note: One reincarnation is worth 100 points. General life on this continent ranges from 0.1 to 1000, depending on its power or rarity].

"Can gold fingers be stolen?

[Yes, even those related to knowledge can be stolen, but compatibility must be taken into account. A gold finger is not always beneficial, let alone an incompatible one].

"Can these higher beings intervene?"

[No, we're fair, even those chaotic beings like the Scarlet King won't mess with you, of course, this is only for the duration of the Battle Royal. If you survive, you may receive offers of patronage, but it doesn't matter if you refuse, after all, you're just a speck of dust to them].

"After reincarnation, will there be more Battle Royales while I am alive, or will I have to die?"

[After reincarnation, 20 years must pass before you can be summoned again. We give this time to give participants room to grow. You will fight or act together with the survivors].

"Can two people be reborn in the same universe?"

[Yes, but in different realities, not in the same iteration of a world, unless two or more reincarnates form a group, in which case they can reincarnate in the same universe and thus grow together].

Seone asked a few more questions and thought about them until time passed and he had to go back to training, now he was at this meeting, holding two Spin Balls in his hands, which he had asked his father to order from a blacksmith.

Seone asked a few more questions, thinking about it until time passed and he had to go back to training, now he was at this meeting, holding in his hands, tucked in his pockets, two Spin Balls he had asked his father to order from a blacksmith.

They were not painted because they were fresh, they were made of iron and not very complicated, just like Gyro Zeppeli's. He practiced his spinning that week, and even though he was a complete novice, at least he had some protection.

Besides, he wanted to start earning points soon, he didn't want to waste any more time, but he had to see what his supposed partners wanted to do, if they didn't have any good ideas, maybe he would start working alone, even if that was a much more dangerous option, but he just didn't want to waste any time.

"If you have gathered news, the Lord of the City is organizing preparations for a war campaign, maybe for the next six months, so we don't have time if we want to participate, so we should plan something where we can not only get points but learn how to fight and perform, so I suggest hunting in the forest," Marie explained to the group, there were some comments until Seone spoke.

"What about forest elves?"
