CHAPTER 14
Deborah and the prince got to where so many people were injured,and found out that Zipora and her serpents had poisoned some people.
They rushed to help out,seeing the condition of the people.
Deborah saw a child,crying on the ground.Her leg was swollen.
She felt sad,and rushed to meet the child,"It's okay dear.Don't cry",she said,carrying the child up.
Before she knew it,Old man Peter dragged the child away from her,in a very rough way.Looking into her eyes with anger.
Deborah wanted to ask him why he did that.That's when he said,shouting at the top of his voice, "Is this the peace you said you were going to bring into this land?,tell me!".
The Prince, who was helping someone, turned to their direction,and saw Old man Peter, staring at Deborah with so much anger.
He excused himself and went to meet them," This is not the time to fight,let's help this people "," Oh we will my prince,we will",he said,handing the child over to her mother.
Deborah's eyes were on the child,as she was been taken away.She turned her eyes to Old man peter,who then continued, mimicking her, "I'll be the one to bring peace to this land.My name is confidence, and I know that Reed was created for a purpose..,to help the people. Can you see it Deborah?".
He pointed at the injured people, for her to see," You were full of confidence last night,weren't you?.I warned you about your stupidity, but you wanted to insult me,because you showed everyone what a great fighter you are".
Deborah didn't say anything. She just turned her face away from him,looking at the ground.
Old man peter insulted her,and even made the people to insult her too,calling her 'wretched''Foolish'',Destroyer'.
It made her upset.
The prince was fed up of all this.He then said to Old man Peter, "That's enough pls!.Just because everyone was attacked by a snake,doesn't mean she's at fault"," Don't try to defend her son.He's not wrong at all",the king said,coming from the midst of the crowds,with an injured arm.
Shocked,the prince rushed to meet him."Father you're hurt!","Am fine son. Just a small injury ",he said,holding the injured arm.
He turned his attention to Deborah, and said," You are supposed to be helping your people,instead you're helping that monster,who's relaxing inside his castle".
"Your people depend on you Deborah. Give them what they want.Give them freedom please!…Find the book and send Reed back".
The monsters that stood by,heard what the king said,and growled angrily," They want to send us back!","We will not let that",they said.
Old man peter agreed with the king.He then said to the king,looking at Deborah at the same time,"You're right my king.Who knows if she'll do it....or she'll end up being like her grandfather ".
Immediately he mentioned her grandfather, Deborah became angry at him.He saw it,but kept on talking," A man,who brought destruction to his people,pain...and sorrow.Thinking he was doing the right thing,not knowing it was stupid.At the end...",he looks at all the people, "...he died a shameful death"," THAT'S ENOUGH!",Deborah roared at Old man peter.
Shocked,the people began to complain about the way she spoke,"Rude child!,you dare speak to your elder like that","Total rubbish!,your grandfather and parents didn't teach you any manners,before leaving this world","Don't you dare speak about my family like that!",she roars back at them.
The people gazed at her,seeing the anger all over her system.
She turned her attention to Old man peter,who stared at her,like an eagle,waiting to hear what she'll say.
"My grandfather.. never!,and I mean never!,made the mistake of creating Reed at all.
" He risked his own life to save all of you.Entered into the forbidden forest,just to help you all.Created Reed,who saved all of you",you points at all of them.
"When you all became tired of Reed,and even scared..My grandfather risked his life to send Reed back,just because of you all. And what did you give him in return?.Tell me!,what did you give him?,Pain", she said.
Tears dripped down from her eyes to her cheek.She wiped it off and said to the king,who was holding the prince closer," If I grant your request my king,won't this people do the same thing they did to my grandfather? ".
Speechless,the king couldn't give an answer.
She faced Old man peter,who now had an angry look on his face,and said to him," I know that Reed was created for a purpose,and he will fulfil it.But..",she folds her arm",..never expect me to do what you want.Because I won't "," You shameless child!!.I pray you die the way your grandfather died!","And I return it back to the sender".
Both of them stared at each other furiously.
The prince quickly came in between them,to settle the fight.
But before he could even do that,Deborah walked away angrily.
"Deborah!, wait pls!", he called out,but no response.
She was walking away,back to the castle,while the monsters standing by,had a smile on their faces," She's brave","Yeah i like her",they said.
Deborah's eyes had teats in it.She began to wipe it away,so that she won't be questioned by the others.
She hadn't gotten too far,when she received a lashed from her right.Sending her tumbling down the mountain.
The prince,who was about leaving his father,saw Deborah tumbling down and shouted,"Deborah!".
He looked closely,and became stunned at what he saw,"How's that possible? ".
It was zipora.
She was full of rage.Her blinded eye was dripping blood seriously, and it ached her so much.
She dashed down the mountain, after Deborah, and she she didn't even wait for her to stop tumbling. She used her tail to wipe her with force.Bashing her into a tree.
" Arrr!",Deborah screamed in pain.Her body was hurting.She had injured her head on the tree,which began to bleed.
Zipora was eager to finish Deborah, when she saw the monsters and the prince, coming to the rescue.
She spat so many saliva on their way,blocking then from coming any closer.
Trapped,the prince didn't know what to do,"This snake has trapped us.What do we do?".
Zipora turned her attention to the wounded girl near the tree,who was struggling to stand up.
She dashed at her again,and lashed her another one.This time,on the stomach.
Deborah flew backward, landed on the ground and tumbled into the field.
She was weak.Her head was bleeding badly.
She rose her head up and saw Zipora in a distance, waiting for her to stand up.
"What's the matter dear?,can't fight back?", she mocked her and laughed like a witch.
Deborah struggled and stood up,holding her stomach, which was now aching her badly.
Zipora slides forward a little and said," You took one of my precious eyes away.Now I'll finish you for good",she hissed.
Deborah was helpless. All her bones seemed to be broken,except for her legs which supported her to stand up.
Her blood began to cover her face,making it hard for her to see clearly.
Zipora positioned herself. She accumulated so many acid saliva in her mouth,and fired it at Deborah.
Deborah saw the coming acid towards her.She couldn't move.All she could do now was watch and die.
she turned her face away,so that she won't see when the acid saliva touches her.
Unexpectedly, she heard a loud noise in front of her,"What was that?",she wondered, turning her attention back to the acid saliva.
Instead of seeing the saliva, she was looking at a huge sword in front of her,that had blocked the saliva from touching her.
"Who owns this sword?", she was curious.
She observed the sword and noticed a shadow reflecting on it.
A huge figure was standing at her back.Shocked,she swallowed her saliva and turned back slowly.
Behold,she was standing in front of a huge monster. Bigger than the eleven foot monster she had once fought.
This monster was different from the others. He was more handsome than the ones that served Reed.
His huge chest matched his muscles,giving him the look of a hero.
She stared at the monster,and asked,still looking," Who are you?".
The monster looked at her,gave her a charming smirk,and answer her question with just a sparkling glowing blue eyes.
Stunned,Deborah's eyes widened, as soon as she realized who it was,"Reed!".
He smiled at her, carrying his huge sword from the ground,"Lucky guess",he said,winking at her.
He saw her bloody face and asked her,looking angry,"She did this to you?".Deborah nodded.
He turned to look at Zipora,who was shocked to see Reed.
Zipora was now scared.Reed was sure going to deal with her for causing so much destruction in the land,and injuring Deborah like that.
