"I was lying in the hospital bed, as I had been for the rest of the year. Numerous cables were attached to my body, and the machines around me emitted regular sounds. If any of these connections to my body were severed, survival seemed unlikely.

Due to congenital deficiencies in my organs, I've been dependent on medical assistance since birth. Fortunately, my family's financial situation is quite good, so I never faced any issues with covering my medical expenses.

Despite not communicating much with me, they never neglected my medical needs. For them, the cost was insignificant.

The only thing that brought me happiness in life was watching anime. At least, it allowed me to momentarily forget my current situation.
